    I'm not sure if I've ever seen a more ridiculous swing than Todd Frazier took at 3:37.

    Verlander and Kershaw, both in the prime of their careers. To be able to see them oppose each other on the mound would be like seeing Nolan Ryan and Sandy Koufax back in the day.

      Riktus Loremaster verlander is passed his prime, this is his second wind, which is a testament to how good he is. He's dropped nearly 10mph in velocity yet he's stayed pretty close to the elite category. Pretty amazing

      Vincent Cuttolo regular season average fastball is low 90's, used to be around 100. He can still throw 100, but his consistent average is no longer 100.
      Also, Nolan Ryan's average was 103 (due to some recent scientific calculations researching old films since statcast and radar guns weren't used the same way they are now back then.)

    Verlander is one of the best big game pitchers ever, so underrated even now

    • @vanishing_girl
      @vanishing_girl 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      he has a 1.21 ERA in 5 elimination playoff games

    • @vanishing_girl
      @vanishing_girl 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      he was bad in 2006 (his rookie year) and that hurt his career overall postseason record as Detroit played in three postseason series, but since then he's been awesome with only a couple of bad games

    • @vanishing_girl
      @vanishing_girl 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      he won rookie of the year in 2006, he did debut in 2005, but he obviously was still listed as a rookie in 2006, hence him winning rookie of the year. I forgot that he was mediocre in the 2011 playoffs as well but since then he's been very very good, his career ERA in the postseason is 3.00 despite the fact that through his first 5 postseason series' his ERA was 5.63, so obviously over the last 6 years (and last 8 postseason series) his postseason ERA has been well below 3. And as stated earlier, he's 4-1 with a 1.21 ERA all time in postseason elimination games, so I think he has a proven track record. Yes his first two trips to the playoffs left something to be desired, but since then he's been great. He had great 2012 and 2013 playoffs runs in Detroit.

    • @vanishing_girl
      @vanishing_girl 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      it's only been two great games in Houston, the first series' with Houston his ERA was 3.12 , so yeah his ERA was above 3.00 by the end of his time in Detroit but not that much over 3.00. Maybe it's an exaggeration to say he was one of the best big game pitchers ever, but he has been one of the best currently pitching when it comes to the postseason for some time now (I would say the best), this hasn't been his first good postseason by any stretch

      Seeing as the vast majority of titles came when baseball was rigged for the richest team to win every year, if I was a Yankees fan I would only take pride in a few of them.
      Whats funny is that the Yankees have blown right by the luxury tax every year anyway.

      I think he was unhappy with one of the calls during that at bat, felt like it was low or something (not the last pitch but an earlier pitch). That's what it sounds like.

    • @Windupchronic
      @Windupchronic 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I'm a Dodgers fan, too, but the Astros are one of the few teams I'd be okay with losing to. The team has never won in its history, and Houston's had a pretty crappy year. It's like, "Yeah, okay, I'm hungry, but that guy over there is literally starving. I'll get the next one. Here you go."
      But I'd be PISSED if we lost to the Yankees.

    • @snipersclan22
      @snipersclan22 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ShadowCat I'm not ok with us losing to either team xD 4 years in a row we didn't get there but now we're here, both astros and Yankees haven't been here in idk how long, this is our year, they can have next year. It's time this juggernaut of a franchise follows suit with the others and brings the trophy home.

    • @robertordaz9369

      ShadowCat Astros don't want to win like that. No team does. If they win it won't be because of a little pitty. Go stros

    • @Windupchronic
      @Windupchronic 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yankees last won in 2009. They have more titles than any other team, and it's not even close.
      Houston has only one Series appearance in their history. They were swept by the Red Sox in 2005. 1 appearance, zero games won.
      Personally, I just like it when different teams win. I hate sports where the same teams go and win year after year after year. I like to see teams win that either haven't won before, or haven't won in a very long time. The greater the variety of teams winning, the more the sport grows. Last year was a great matchup: a team that had never won vs a team that hadn't won in over a century. If it's Dodgers / Astros, I'll either get to see my team win for the first time in 29 years, or a team that has never won. I'm okay with either of those.
      Just not the damn Yankees.
      And Robert, it would only be a pity win if my feeling sorry for them actually had any effect on the outcome. It doesn’t. They still have to earn it, regardless of how I feel. It’s not like I’m pity-gifting them a World Series somehow.
