They should have changed him in the 3rd inning with no outs and runners on 1st and 2nd after giving up a timely hit, making it 5-1. Flaherty's velocity was already down, and he was getting hit hard, but they just left him in there as if they had given up on the game. That's the reason they lost. Roberts said he didn't want to use the key relievers because it would have been a waste and thought Flaherty would manage, but how could a pitcher who was getting hit so hard manage to get through it? And are all the bullpen pitchers part of the key relievers or what? You need pitchers who can stop the bleeding when you're losing. What kind of pitching management is this... Even in Korean pro baseball, they wouldn't handle it like this. It just seems like Roberts gave up on the game. The key relievers had a few days of rest, and there's no game tomorrow. So when exactly does he plan on using them? Is he saving them for Game 7 when they're already losing? Before, he would pull starting pitchers after only 3 runs, but now he's all over the place. Every game in the postseason is important, and momentum is key, but he's just sitting there, letting the Mets build confidence. There are only two games left, and at this rate, they’re going to blow the lead. Even an elementary school kid wouldn't manage pitchers like this. It's not the regular season, so how can a manager just give up on a game? Did he hear from God or something that they're going to win the next game? Every postseason, he screws up pitching management and gets eliminated, but they don't even fire this low-level manager. It's like the owner and the manager are both out to screw the Dodgers over intentionally.
Why does Roberts act like he’s given up on the game, leaving the starter in to give up 8 runs when the bullpen is fresh and fully rested after days off? If the starter is collapsing, you’ve got to pull him right away. It’s not like this is his first baseball game. In a 5-1 situation, isn’t that the right time to make a change? Does he only use the bullpen when the team is winning? What’s the point of having relievers if you’re not going to use them? Is he a Mets spy or something, giving their hitters momentum like that? Does he think that if they make it to Game 6, they’ll definitely win? The postseason is a short series, and anything can happen-you’ve got to take your chances to win when you can. There are so many examples of teams blowing leads because they didn’t manage their bullpen properly. Does Roberts think a 4-run deficit is impossible to overcome? At other times, he pulls a guy after just 3 runs, saying he trusts the bullpen. How many times has Roberts used bizarre pitching decisions to cost the team in the postseason? Is the owner holding something over him, or why else would they not fire him? It’s the fans who are suffering. With Roberts around, it’s hard to imagine them winning a championship. The only time they did win was during the COVID-shortened season when everything was out of the ordinary. They keep finishing first, but what good does it do if the manager blows it every time? If they don’t fire Roberts after this, it’ll feel like the team is just mocking the fans. If it were any other manager, they would have won at least three championships by now.

No matter what happens now, the Mets have proven they have guts. This was David and Goliath. They might lose the series but the fact they’re here at all is as close to a miracle as you can get. This match up is like 1980 Olympics USA vs USSR hockey. And Mets keep defying death.
And when they announce all the Met games theres never no overkill with these guys...not unless its necessarily positively needed...Like the home run Bartolo Colon hit against the Padres, or the home run Wilmer Flores hit against the Nationals after he found out he was gonna be traded.....
Same here, I'm a Phillies fan as well and hate that they lost to these NY Mets.. That said, I'm rooting for the Mets for as long as they're still in the playoffs. Go Mets!!
The Mets are the highest paid team in baseball for the last two years. They are a A1 class act. They can win when they want to and lose when they want to. Baseball is a business...a gambling business. Two months into the season, the Mets were placed at a thousand to one long shot of making it to the playoffs. A lot of money has changed hands from sports gambling.
@@Savanelewis,more like "should not have started at all or at least by the 3rd inning"earlier. If you are not 1000%, you need to sit down somewhere. Players that play sick or not fully healed up DON'T NEED TO PLAY, PERIOD.
Can the Mets make another comeback? Or will the dodgers seal the deal. This is playoff baseball with 2 teams having an amazing postseason. The dodgers with everyone doing what they are supposed to do and an amazing team overall, and the Mets a miracle team who has shown teams not to count them out. This is playoff baseball.
Excellent play by the ball kid on the right sideline to get out of the way to avoid stopping the ball. Lifted themself and the stool in one quick move.
Whether it's the Mets or the Dodgers, please just mop the floor with the damn Yankees. This series is significantly more interesting and competitive than the ALCS.

The game sounds sooo much better when Gary Keith and Ron are the announcers
For reals😂😂😂😂
And when they announce all the Met games theres never no overkill with these guys...not unless its necessarily positively needed...Like the home run Bartolo Colon hit against the Padres, or the home run Wilmer Flores hit against the Nationals after he found out he was gonna be traded.....
Massive respect at 10:37 that ball throw was COLD! LGM!!! 💙🧡
😂 as he should!😂
Yeah, throwing back a once in a lifetime object is very strange
Lol you're not proving anything. Just keep the ball dude.
I'm a Phillies fan. The Mets shouldn't lose on this stage. I'm rooting for them. Good luck.❤
Very reminiscent of the 2022 Phillies.
🙌
Woulda been pulling for the Phils had they won.🤍♥️
@@ryuuu1d801 they earned 36 runs in 5 games vs Dodgers😂 they won’t get to the WS
Same here, I'm a Phillies fan as well and hate that they lost to these NY Mets.. That said, I'm rooting for the Mets for as long as they're still in the playoffs. Go Mets!!
Mets doing battle! Impressive.
They are so much fun to watch. No one took them seriously to be here…but here they are.
Not the horror movie I wanted to see before Halloween! 😭
They turned Jack Flaherty into a Jack O Lantern!
jack O' laughter?
Bro played sick should have been taken out earlier
Elite comment
Acting like the Mets are gonna win it all lol 😂
@@Savanelewis,more like "should not have started at all or at least by the 3rd inning"earlier. If you are not 1000%, you need to sit down somewhere.
Players that play sick or not fully healed up DON'T NEED TO PLAY, PERIOD.
Mets two out lighting was looking like Thor in Wakanda. It ain’t over!
Could be in 6.
@@red3herethey will tie it 3-3.
No it’s over.
@@hectorEK9 Ever hear of Yogi Berra?? It ain't over til it's over.
@😂red3here
Shout out to both teams. Unbelievable baseball. But LFGM!!!!
Lmao the old timer throwing that HR ball back is peak Mets fan.
He waited 30 years to do that 😂
Win or lose at this point mets should feel good at what they have done, my dad loved the mets so hope they can get in it! lets go!
That's a sweet sentiment except for the 'Mets winning' part.
@@trailrider7046mets won game 5 if you didn’t hear or see.
@@mbdg6810 Dodger Stadium on Sunday! My first visit there was around 1973. It's now the oldest stadium in National League, I think.
Are you a sportscaster? You wrote like they speak!
Not a fan of either but I think it's foolish to count the OMG Mets out. I definitely see a close game 7 deciding this series.
If you think the Mets can win two games in LA you are delusional
@@lastplayer5838 they can win anywhere lol
@@23snacKs mets fans forgetting they lost 18-2 in game 3 and 4, you can’t go to a WS earning 36 runs in 5 games 😂
Man! Those Mets won't quit.
Excellent play by the ball kid on the right sideline to get out of the way to avoid stopping the ball. Lifted themself and the stool in one quick move.
I was there. Field level right behind the plate. As a Mets fan; a game I'll never forget.
Thank you for your help. 😊
The guy that threw the ball back to the field it’s a real Mets fan 😂
Whether it's the Mets or the Dodgers, please just mop the floor with the damn Yankees.
This series is significantly more interesting and competitive than the ALCS.
YANKEES WIN!!
If this REALLY is a team of destiny, this is the type of game that starts the comeback.
Let's go Mets, WE wanna See the Subway Series!!!🎉
In ur dreams 😂😂😂
Win or lose the NYMets have made this post season great for baseball as magic is the word of the month for october
For those of us who enjoy watching these highlights-and they are excellent-instead of the games, it would be nice if you guys did NOT hint at the outcome in the pre-click TH-cam photo.
Loved the Mets fan who caught the Dodgers home run ball and then disdainfully tossed it back onto the field.
Hola Saludos Desde Caracas Venezuela Vió Que Ganaron Hoy Mi Doble Equipo Los Mets de Nueva York y Los Gloriosos Navegantes del Magallanes Campeones Por Siempre Dios Les Bendiga Cristo Les Ama Amén 🎉
Maranatha, brother !

Mets are alive and well. Alonso with clutch 3 run shot, Alvarez also contributing the offense
what a rollercoaster these past 5 games have been. At this point Mets are zombies and now against the wall. Take it to game 7
That Reed garrit pitch to Freeman was filthy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This series ain't over fellas
GG you gotta admit though we had the Mets fans nervous when we went up 6 😂
It’s over.
Thought must have crossed your mind for you to leave a comment like this 😂
It'll be over this Sunday
It over Sunday in LA
If the Mets improve their pitching and their bats stay hot I wouldn’t count them out in this series
No strikeouts for the Mets in this game .
these playoffs got me back into baseball. Seems like a fun old school playoff season.
Alonso is so powerful. It certainly didn't look like a homer coming off the bat.
Something special about these 24' amazing Mets!!!!
That was a brilliant display of hitting by my man Marte muscle 💪
Rooting for the Mets I’m not a Mets fan but I want to see them go all the way LGM 🍎
That pete alonso homerun was unbelievable
Was definitely the purple shoes which gave him the power he needed at that moment. ⚾
What a ride this season 🎢 has been for the Mets! Keepnit going! LGM! 🧡💙
Dave, what are you talking about? After checking the video, I am certain that Shohei would have gotten tagged out at the home base if he run in the top of the first inning. Dave sounded as if the lose Dave made was Shohei's mistake. It is unforgivable. The change of the starting picher by him was too late.

Not a fan of either team.
But LA will take the Title.
I'm a Dodger fan but I believe the Yankees are a better team. They have the chemistry, the manager and the players. All veterans and the history.

I was at this game tonight, best game I've ever been too, electric atmosphere, let's go Mets
Thanks for the assist. LGM
I wouldn't see much fun in that. All those people standing and slapping you in the face with their ridiculous stupid little towels.
Mets finally got back to hitting and not everyone trying to hit the long ball
That’s great
Peterson has shown that he is a good starting pitcher and it was worth it to stay with him.

8 runs in the first three innings?? 12 runs scored in the game?? I don't care, I hope the Mets pushes this to a Game 7 because man, this team is so much fun to watch
called good luck😂 u guys lose
They probably should have saved some of those runs for game 6.
@@Silence_Duder_Gooderthey have a pitching plan for game 6. They’re not scoring zero against an entire bullpen.
Huge first inning not to give them momentum and leaving two runners! That changed the whole energetics of the game! LGM
In the words of the greatest rockstar of all time, Meatloaf, “Two outta three ain’t bad!”

Yeah, they went into THEIR stadium and took the FIRST TWO GAMES from them, and somehow, the Mets are suddenly going to win it all? 😝

Homer after homer, don’t ever remember baseball like this as a kid!!!

Game 6 Sunday 8:08pm on FS1
The fact that FS1 is hosting these games makes my blood boil over.
Alonso reached down like Piazza to smack that 3 run HR out to center. Glad the Mets didnt choke this game, the fans were very depressed.
Alvarez finally woke up. He better bring those hits to LA. All the Mets need to be hitting like this on Sunday if they hope to stand a chance.
To bad they will choke. Just like the 2 times they got shut out
@@hahaha777781but will LA get a lot of runs is the question.
Glad to see the Mets playing with self-respect and enthusiasm, unlike the Guardians. 😂
The Mets were a little sloppy, but they still had big hits and plays, and the comebak kids did it again.
Manaea will get it to game 7. Nobody hits him......Thanks to MLB for these great highlight videos

The Mets have the highest payroll in all of baseball this season.
But yeah, "underdogs."

All we ask is that the Mets win their next 6 games.
That ball that Lindor hit that drove Mookie Betts to the warning track wouldve been gone in Yankee Stadium
