Aurora Borealis Time-lapse from Hatcher Pass in Alaska by photographer Greg Syverson. This segment was captured on November 9, 2013. The Auroras also known as the Northern Lights are very active this year. We are in a peak period and many more displays like this will happen. Sometimes the auroras are very weak and have little movement. Other times it is as if someone turned on the light switch. The night sky comes alive with multi colored dancing lights. They pupate, the ripple and whisk across the sky. White and green are the most common color. During intense storm levels the reds, purple, orange and bright green will appear.
