this is so simplified and i love it. Have been doing the niacinamide with ratinol regularly for a few weeks now and i think i'm seeing some changes especially when i wash my face in the morning. Awesome!
Sometimes in the PM routine I put 10% niacinamide over 15% Vitamin C and seal it with Vaseline.. next morning my skin is super plump, soft, and glowing. Vitamin C helps in brightening and niacinamide with skin barrier… I see how it’s working
@@sonalkamble2453 ok thank you. I was thinking of using a vitamin c serum and moisturizer. And niacinamide serum twice a week. Is it OK? Sorry im new to skin care
@@NaRut0_1 what are the key ingredients in your moisturiser? If it has ceramides it will heal the skin barrier while vitamin C boosts collagen production. If you use the C with Niacinamide, both these ingredients boost collagen and niacinamide will also heal the barrier. I would say give the C + Niacinamide combo a try for a week and see the results yourself. If using it in the AM don't forget to use a sunscreen, and if in the PM, do try slugging over it if you don't have acne prone/oily skin
@@rponce1119what do you mind by tearing up? I used it together and now i am as dark as night. I don't know why...maybe because i used it during the day..
The niacinamide recommendations seem to have changed. Skincare researchers long advised against combining niacinamide with vitamin C as the two interact to create nicotinic acid (a pro-oxidant irritant). However, newer research suggests this is a rare occurrence and only under specific temperatures. To be super safe, I tend to use niacinamide with a vitamin C derivative called Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate which is very stable and is even safe to use with peptides. Alternatively, I'll use a high-strength L-ascorbic acid serum with other direct acids (BHA/AHA/ Ferulic acid) in the same routine and use niacinamide and peptides separately. The advice keeps changing, so I stick to a pretty conservative path.
It seems almost impossible for my skin to get better without packing maximum hydration before using and mixing actives. I realized this after many trials and fails
Vitamin c works best in acidic conditions. Niacinamide works best in neutral ph condition. Layering these 2 ingredients together will render both ineffective. There are only a few derivatives of Vitamin C that can work under neutral pH conditions. The skin is naturally between 5.5 to 6.5 ph. So be aware to avoid layering them together.
@@Noraybeebs it really depends on the formulation, hard to tell but the baseline ph of hyaluronic acid based serums are around the ph of skin so it works fine with very minimal irritation. But since vitamin c is more acidic, like mine from the brand Minimalist, it has ph 3.5-4.5 so some very sensitive skin may get more irritated. Thats why its vital to do a patch test first to see whether you are allergic to it, then introduce the product slowly into your routine. But generally i have never heard of vitamin c being the culprit for irritation, usually its something else in the formula itself that is the problem, like fragrance as you can be allergic to it.
Too high of a percentage of formulas can also cause irritation. That's why the ordinary's 10% niacinamide contains zinc, because its there to minimize inflammation that can come from the high concentration of actives.
Me too. I combine vitamin c and niacinemide. (More like layer) serums, and my skin becomes red and irritated. Not all skin can tolerate those 2 together so be very careful. I wish people stop preaching about this without giving precautions.

try using a salicylic acid cleanser and using niacinamide serum so you won’t really have to wait between using the two. i use the cos rx salicylic acid cleanser and the 82 EAST niacinamide. it helped me a lot!
