Hi, I was told not to use/hold the thumb , the way you did ,How would you play it without the thumb ?😊

When starting out, it's pretty common for teachers to say "don't use the thumb". You get to break the rules after that though. ;) Using the thumb is pretty essential for some styles of playing.
