I got the efnote mini last month, had never tried one beforehand but im very happy with it. Last electric kit i had was a roland td12 many moons ago.

Fascinating stuff. I have a Roland TD15KV which has not been used as much as it deserved but is part of my 2025 mission to indulge my drumming fantasy. I also have a shed load of digital guitar gear going back to the original Line 6 Pod Pro. I have over indulged. Guilty as charged.
Digital guitar processing has now reached the point where professional high profile musicians are touring with entirely digital rigs. The choice of whether to have an amp in the backline is essentially about personal preference and on stage presence. It isn't about sound. The audience is not going to know the difference. It strikes me that e drums are almost at the same stage but not quite there yet. The guitar processing went through three levels. Digital effects reached parity with analogue years ago. Amp modelling caught up next but the final component was decent IR's for speaker cabs. Now that we have those it is entirely possible to do a stadium gig digitally.
I think drums are catching up. The basic drum sounds are great and in most live situations would be fine. For the drummer there will be more nuance from an acoustic kit but I doubt the audience would know. The last stage is definitely the cymbals and there I get that players still feel a significant gap. So maybe a couple of steps before e kits are turning up at the Royal Albert Hall on a regular basis but I reckon that point isn't a long way off now. Honestly if the cymbals on this were shiny gold would you know it was an e kit from 50 feet away?

How does it compare to the Roland TD30 you used? I will keep mine. Probably the best electronic kit now is the new Roland VAD 716. And maybe the closest to acoustic. But a lot of money. At least until now Roland had the lead in triggering. Mine never missed a beat/hit.

As a blind drummer, the tough screen is the 1% case where it matters. Sadly that’s a dealbreaker. The rest of it though 🤤

Your channel rocks, however, the background music is incredibly distracting. Please avoid in the future.

I don't see ANY electronic kits holding up to constant heavy metal speed playing.

The Roland kits do well. At least that's my experience. I haven't had any issues at all with my kit. I'm not a metal drummer but I used to play professionally and used Roland kits on stage and in the studio they hold up just fine in my opinion

I'll stick to TD30 for the individual outputs for recording and for the sound engineer to fool around with. I've had this on the road for maybe 13 years, not sure 🤔 the module looks a bit twee for a pro touring item. Especially at 7000 quid. I did like the look of the cymbals, I must admit.
      TD 50 is awesome too.
Good luck to them a anyway, competition is good. I use roland triggers and heads on my favourite acoustic kit....that's why i think it's a lot of money for a new kid on the block, and no pedigree...yet !
