It’s funny, I’ve watched this entire series. As well as your mod the gungeon. But I still come back to it when it’s been a while. It’s always a good time.
Once I killed the Dragun, I went back and killed everyone's past (even the robot's), got the paradox and killed the lich with it, about 50 hours in the game. Spend more time developing your skills in the game and sooner or later you will be playing like a god.

This will be such a breath of fresh air and I'm excited for it. I would like to ask you to finally update the Reto Scale since that would be a great resource to refer to for new players! :D
This man casually chatting about the basics while essentially flawlessing the very first run of the series is both hilarious, and a tad bit insane. Dude making this look like a cake-walk
Man your 1000 hours of play really show. I wish I had watched this when I first became a gungeoneer. You explain everything so well and efficiently. However, now that I've logged over 250 hours I know most of the info haha. It's addicting and fun. Play on Retromation!
I just started playing, and I'm loving your tips in this video and your motivating me to think I'll be getting better and better. Thank you for the advice on secret rooms. You got a good personality and voice that is enjoyable to hear with the gameplay, thank you for making this brand new playthrough and I will definitely be watching it all. Keep up the destruction!
What I did to help me learn where secret rooms could be is, using Mod the Gungeon, just give myself the map after I've already checked all the places I thought it would be. Being able to see where it is placed helped me learn how it would be positioned. Just open the console, give yourself the map, then don't go in if you haven't found it.
When I first started Gungeon, the first gameplay mistake I made was dodgerollig too much. Tbh practice makes perfect for boss fight mastery. My favourite starter character is Hunter but Pilot is close. I made myself able to go the Forge regularly by recognising which floors I took the most damage/made the most mistakes and focused on familiarising them and their enemy range. The bullet parts are easier to get through practice and don’t forget you need to get to the NPC in the shop at the Forge. Destroying the last bosses skull gets you the last part and then getting it to the Forge NPC will drop a Bullet That Can Kill The Past which you can then get in future runs. P.S. Use the ETG wiki and always try new things!

After Gungeon launched on Game Pass I am finally able to actually play it and you have no idea how much this video actually helped me. Thank you so much!!!

But also tfw Reto says "it's okay if you don't beat the dragun" and I can't even get past the 1st floor most times (this is why I need this series).
If you're playing characters with good starting weapons, such as The Hunter or The Marine, if you get any weapons, don't use them and stick to your starter weapons, and use the weapons you found for the boss. I recommend doing this till floor 3.

I haven't played this game for about a year. Watching this video reminds me just how much anxiety it gave me. It's like I'm having traumatic flashbacks.
Wish I'd finished watching this sooner.. made it to the marines past and didn't know there would be a boss fight; I felt like I was on track to win but suddenly started tanking health because I didn't realise I was poisoned. Losing the fight in the past feels bad. :(
Probably have about 20 hours on this game playing on the switch, and your videos have definitely gotten me more into the game, it’s great to learn some of the mechanics that the game doesn’t teach you (which seems to be a common theme with rouge lites) But I’ve gotta say this game looks so much easier on PC, playing with a controller is messy at times, and it’s hard to get a configuration that is 100% perfect, plus random dropped frames at the worst times can get you hit. It’s what made the game so hard to get into for me, binding of isaac suffers way less in that regard unless you have a crazy run and then it doesn’t matter anyway. And knowing there is no planned updates ahead to possibly iron out some of the performance issues sucks! I do wish I had a gaming PC, or if the rumours are true maybe the Switch Pro can fix all of this
You don't like playing with the controller? This is like the perfect game for a controller for me. I prefer to play my twin stick shooters ON twin sticks. Then map everything to the bumpers, triggers, and stick clicks. And it just flows perfectly. I do have series x though idk if that helps with performance.

I am relatively new to the game, 26 hours in with 1 Dragun kill. At first I always go in with Marine because I think he is the strongest, but after a few old Reto vids I started to go in as the pilot, and eventually got my first Dragun kill with him! I'm still a little bad at the game though, working my way towards unlocking new characters for now, and I hope I'll get better at this game soon :D
I like to think im good even though I'm bad. Honestly the bullet is a little over rated. The robot is underrated. The Pilot and Hunter are personal favs. The lich is bull. And Gunslinger is also overrated. Convict deserves to be in jail. And finally always get Gunther, it's Broken.
According to wiki you can actually find in the shop the old knight's helm and shield, as well as having one of them as a starting item for paradox. Btw great idea for the videos, it's gonna be a hell of a run!
I’m not sure if you look back at older videos, but you didn’t bore me at all I have played the game for like a year now and there are some things I did not even know myself the like the "secret room" in chapter 4 as I call it
Feels funny coming back to this after 2 years but damn do you make this game look easy. Took me 15 hours to beat it. I think I'll come back to this playlist after i 100% the game.
Started playing again after watching the first episode and i didnt really know where secret rooms can spawn. well i found one finally and of course i go for the big chest only to find out its a mimic that chunked half my health fighting lmao but yeah theyre mostly good rooms
First time doing the tutorial in gungeon. So when I got to sir manual’s boss fight, I totally freaked out and left. 3 months later, I remember that I didn’t beat sir manual so I defeated him with ease. I still don’t know why I freaked out to this day.
Retromarion, the average player with 1k hours beating the first floor under 10 minutes and me, who bought this game a week ago with 17 hours struggling on the first floor bosses.... i love democracy.
I feel like this is the kind of game where if you spend about 1-100 hours you’re still gonna be considered a beginner because DAMN this game is super hard
Well you've inspired me to do the unthinkable, Reto. I just got the yellow Tonic skin for 4,500 credits. I'm 100% with over 500 hours. And you've inspired me to erase my file and start all over again.
I’ve had gungeon for a long time now, but I’ve been so bad at it I’ve never really got into it. But hopefully with this new guide series I’ll actually be able to enjoy it properly.
"Nail Gun is not very good" - Little did he know that a year and a half later the world record all floor all boss speedrun of 29:49 involved using the nail gun.
I've been playing Enter the Gungeon for 124 hours, I think. Killed the past for the main four characters, unlocked the Bullet and Robot, fought the Old King and Resourceful Rat (lost to both of them). Failed to kill the Bullet's past twice. They could have at least given him a Bow and Arrow if they're going to go full Zelda with it. Just got the robot's arm up to the Breach today but haven't gotten it to the shop yet. Been to Bullet Hell once. Probably died hundreds or thousands of times, I don't know. It's amazing how many a great run dies in the Hollow (I always underestimate the Kill Pillars, you would think the name would be enough of a warning), or I get to the Dragun but don't have any good weapons and it mops the floor with me. Been watching a lot of videos to help me improve, but the adrenaline rush of beating the Dragun always leaves me too on edge for killing the past. It took forever to beat the Marine's past because I didn't realize the floor was partly poisonous, and the gun is nearly useless. I can't decide which goal to pursue now, so I mainly want to kill the past for the Bullet and Robot. After that, maybe try to fight the Lich, the Resourceful Rat, or the Old King. It's a hard game to let go of, it just keeps calling me back to it. It's nice to know that even at 100 hours, I have still only scratched the surface of what's possible.
I actually came back to the game this month, and FINALLY beat the dragun yesterday! 30 hours of failed runs and not even beating that DAMN snake boss and I finally did it lol
i remember when i was still trying to beat dragun, i was like 5 health points away from beating it. after about 69 more attempts i was able to beat him. i beat the game at about 187 deaths or something.
The first time I ever beat the lich was on a hunter run. Got crown of guns and remote bullets. Sometimes, the difference between victory and defeat is getting the right items to turn your run around, at least until you're a god like Reto and could probably clear the entire gungeon with nothing but the starter.
I got them once in a normal not-tutorial run.... I don't know how, but I had gotten the whole "Tutorialize" combo in a normal run. Only two things I remember from it. 1) I got the pea shooter 2) I got the Tutorialize combo. I don't remember getting the helmet and shield, but they're required for the Tutorialize combo. It makes the pea shooter's shots bigger, as well as slightly change the texture. And I had both of those, but with no recolection of getting the helmet/shield.
Got over 50 hours in this, only managed to get to floor 4 max, but absolutely loving it, one of my favourite games ever! Can't wait for the steam link which allows to play local coop games online
You'll get their. I myself have unlocked the robot and done half of the bullet, but still haven't beaten the dragun. One day you'll kill those annoying pillars :)
I think the point when the bullets speed up is when you beat a boss for the first time? Like you beat the boss, the games like okay I think he’s got it now, we can show more difficulty!

WHAT i have 20 hours and ive only been to the 3rd floor once
According to wiki you can actually find in the shop the old knight's helm and shield, as well as having one of them as a starting item for paradox. Btw great idea for the videos, it's gonna be a hell of a run!
Looking forward to the next episodes! Loved the idea
Nice! Enter is back! and with a New save file!
didn't know that the bullets where slower when you started, cool to know
I just got Enter The Gungeon yesterday via the Xbox game pass and I'm thinking about actually buying it. It's already really fun.
I can tell four years later you're much more comfortable in your videos just from your voice here.
It’s so much easier after you beat the Dragun for the first time
First time doing the tutorial in gungeon. So when I got to sir manual’s boss fight, I totally freaked out and left. 3 months later, I remember that I didn’t beat sir manual so I defeated him with ease. I still don’t know why I freaked out to this day.
Beat the boss on the forth floor! And then the item pedestal was a mimic and it killed me
As someone who litteraly just got the first master round yesterday this was very helpful
Just saying you're tip to dodge roll toward the bullets has saved me so many times
Retromarion, the average player with 1k hours beating the first floor under 10 minutes and me, who bought this game a week ago with 17 hours struggling on the first floor bosses.... i love democracy.
Ive started watching your channel recently but im thinking about bingeinh this series
It is worth a watch!
@@Retromation should i actually play the game first i wonder. Anyway gona watch the daily revita
Thank you for helping me, I have beaten everyone’s past except robot and gunslinger.
Just beat the gungeon yesterday. Insane time, amazing game.
Cool video dude and this game looks so awesome :]
i remember when i was still trying to beat dragun, i was like 5 health points away from beating it. after about 69 more attempts i was able to beat him. i beat the game at about 187 deaths or something.
I want this game but that scares me if it takes me that long ill probably rage quite
I like to think I'm good at the game, but sometimes I go from doing a boss without taking damage to running into an enemy or jumping into a pit.
I have put quite a few hours into the game and have even beaten a gungeoneers past but only today did I learn about that invisible path
You mean bullet hell ?
The first time I ever beat the lich was on a hunter run. Got crown of guns and remote bullets. Sometimes, the difference between victory and defeat is getting the right items to turn your run around, at least until you're a god like Reto and could probably clear the entire gungeon with nothing but the starter.
I got them once in a normal not-tutorial run....
I don't know how, but I had gotten the whole "Tutorialize" combo in a normal run.
Only two things I remember from it.
1) I got the pea shooter
2) I got the Tutorialize combo.
I don't remember getting the helmet and shield, but they're required for the Tutorialize combo.
It makes the pea shooter's shots bigger, as well as slightly change the texture.
And I had both of those, but with no recolection of getting the helmet/shield.
Just picked up this bad boy really excited !
EtG is heavily based on "Play well, Do well."! So it might be a bit unfair for beginners (Maybe, depending on how much you have played BH games).
My most nostalgic game in one series
Got over 50 hours in this, only managed to get to floor 4 max, but absolutely loving it, one of my favourite games ever! Can't wait for the steam link which allows to play local coop games online
You'll get their. I myself have unlocked the robot and done half of the bullet, but still haven't beaten the dragun. One day you'll kill those annoying pillars :)
Wow respect man, over 1000 hours playing this game.
Devolver keep updating gungeon for the love of god I will send the best coders if that’s the problem, this game is a true masterpiece.
to beat the game, you need 3 essential qualities: Luck, Luck and Luck
I think the point when the bullets speed up is when you beat a boss for the first time?
Like you beat the boss, the games like okay I think he’s got it now, we can show more difficulty!
