JEN!! As a fellow control freak, I empathize with the struggle, and I'm SO PROUD OF YOU for asking for/accepting help. It's really a big step, and it takes a lot out of you, but it's often really worth it, in the end. 🤗🤗
Most of the time with control freaks their struggle for control actually makes them end up with very inefficient ways of doing things. They don't like to let in new ideas that aren't theirs typically. So yeah as you said, often when you do relinquish that control and allow for help and new ideas it will be extremely worth it.
Honestly I'm really impressed with even the before of Jen's apartment, especially after the car videos. Most of what they had was poor use of space rather than anything else. Also....also....Jen..I'm proud of you for letting them touch the bookshelf. If I was in your shoes and I saw them starting to organize by color I'd lose my mind. I have so many series that don't have the same colors but one cannot break up a series!!!
I get big DBT energy from the Space Camp host - "This is a great crate, and maybe it goes?" - that bit was so nice and nonjudgemental! Balancing the ideas of 'your stuff is great and it's totally valid you like it/have it" with "maybe it also can serve another purpose, or is something we can give away now"....very good 'two things can be equally true and we're just finding which of two valid things are best for you' stuff, major kudos to this company for that approach. Wow.
I'm only part way through the video, but Jen - your apartment looks like a DREAM to organize. Like, you don't have too much stuff, you just aren't really organizing it usefully/practically/beautifully. I can't wait to see how it ends up, I'm sure it will be beautiful!! i'm only 3 minutes into this video so far, but i've never felt more seen lmao. i'm so bad about that ADHD "shove everything into a hidey-hole and forget about it" thing and i'm so prone to letting things build up in piles until they become absolutely untenable. i also appreciate jen setting boundaries; i'm pretty protective of my space and the idea of having somebody come help me organize feels terrifying -- it's nice to see somebody set boundaries that are reasonable and to see them be respected 😭💖 anywayyy i love y'all, space camp seems so rad, and i'm going to go watch the rest of the video now byeeeeee

Also i need to know where Space Camp got that knife organizer because my partner also has a knife collection like Jen!!
I really appreciate these videos because it definitely feels vulnerable allowing everyone to see what's behind the cabinet doors.. literally.. I moved into my own home going on 2 years now, and most of my closets are still full of totes, and things are just thrown in piles I grab from. I don't have much art hung up. So being able to watch Jen go through this process with the help of the team was very helpful, since I have some similar issues! Thank you for being open!

I just want to say that all of this is extremely normal for people with ADHD, and Jen actually was doing a really good job all things considered. It's not aesthetic but ADHDers usually organize by piles, and they usually have a decent idea of where things are (as much as "normal" people do). I feel your neurodivergent pain. My apartment is also very much like this
Love this! Love to see Space Camp again in your videos. Also dishwashers are more efficient than hand washing if you have more than like 7 items in it. Don’t ever feel bad or lazy about using a dishwasher!

Loved it all, but I'd love even more to see an update because some things didn't feel too adhd friendly. I felt she needed some doom bins so she doesn't mess up the vibe when things start to get out of their places and falls into a executive dysfunction paralysis loop that doesn't allow her to begin tidyin...
