Love this. Hard working man and look where hard work got him. Simple and delicious.
It was so good, the reporter forgot to code switch back!

🤣🤣🤣🤣
When they finally taste seasoned food they're hooked! LMAO 🤣
Not surprising at all!! Love North Carolinians! Looks wonderful.
I love stories like this for real!
MMM MMM MMM that looks so delicious 😋 I don't think there's any soul food in FL they just have BBQ restaurants
I am sooo hungry for pan fried. Chicken!! I love the piece…. So cool!!!
All I remember about Jerika with her saying "WHY'S IT GOT TO BE FRIED CHICKEN" To Tony....Now she be grinnin ear to ear with dat fried chicken in her mouth. Probably was lip smakin noises with her fingers.@04:50
🤣🤣🤣
Good food and just as important, he is such a nice person.
We will be paying a visit to this spot when the weather breaks.
Making me want to hop into a plane to fly up there. I want some fried chicken!
What a great story! ❤
Everything was great until the reporter said ‘since you was a kid’ 😫
I'll be back in NYC in about four weeks & will add this place to my itinerary
Foundational Black American 🇺🇸
Lawd have mercy I was at his location on 72nd st off Broadway on the 4th of July. And guest was doing the Mr. Charles himself pan frying chicken. I order catfish, wings greens, coleslaw, yams b4 I left the line was out the door no lie. I come frm Bx for Mr.Charles all the staff is amazing they be busting it out everybody be in there.
This is so cool. My friends and I used to eat at Chef Charles' tiny little soul food restaurant all the time when we were in college - it was an absolute hole in the wall that was big enough to seat maybe 8 people. I don't think he had any other restaurants at the time. Love seeing that he's still cooking and even more successful now!
HE SAID " I CAN CONFIRM THIS IS FANTASTIC"😂😂😂
I'm from the upper west side..how do I get yo this restaurant
Looks so good.
Please get back to me❤❤❤
