Biden and Trump also agreed to a CNN debate on June 27.

It's all in the timing. Each state has its own rules on how to get a candidate on the ballot. Example, the short window for gathering signatures just closed and the submission date for signed petitions in TX was this week, May 13th. RFK Jr was required to submit 113,000 or so signatures but the team submitted over 250,000. Other states windows for this process are even narrower and fall even later this season. So, wow! - what a pile of diversion leveraged against allowing candidates to participate in the democratic process. Personally, I think that the DNC and RNC are in trouble, and are demonstrating signs of failure, they are floundering, losing.

I really like the idea of not having an audience. I think it will lead to a more fair debate for both candidates and will be easier for viewers to firm their own opinions. I do wish it were on all the channels instead of just 2. I think less people will be able to view the first one since it will be on cable.
