Also clarification:
When you find the spawner, you can find 0 to 5 of them. If all the surrounding blocks are air [AND] water, you will get 5, if there are only 4 surrounding blocks, you'll get 4. etc.
Yeah, that's why I clarified that only air blocks get replaced. When I did my first editing pass, I didn't have that note in there. Glad I included it.

In my original comment I pointed out that it replaces both air -and- water since water wasn't included in the video - However it doesn't really change anything when it relates to pig spawner which I can see why you didn't include it :). ^^-

So what are the chances tha a specific world seed has any pig spawners?
@@maxthexpfarmer3957 The chances are high actually, probably each world has at-least one, however, this one might not be close to spawn.
Don't get it wrong, the occurrence itself is rare, Very rare.
The "Pig Spawner" containing dungeon chest loot and spawning zombies has to be one of the rarest occurrences in Minecraft since forever.
This just proves the point that we might never discover everything this game has to offer. And it's been over 10 years of millions of players playing every day.
12 years of minecraft, Been a while.
This probably only happens in 1.13+ due to changes in how block data works.

I mean, just pig spawners isn't the interesting thing - it's an old bug that happens under a bunch of circumstances. I had a pig spawner too on a Towny survival server like five-six years ago. The noteworthy thing is them generating naturally.

Someone will probably check the 2B2T world seed to find out if there are any generated on the seed and try to reach them in survival on the server.
Imagine breeding cows or any animals for hours only to find this 5 min later .

I have a pig spawner in my bedrock survival word. After moving it from legacy to bedrock, I went to a woodland mansion I hadn’t been to in a while. I saw that a spider spawner turned into a pig spawner

On my adventure map. I got a spot out in the middle of nowhere with about 15 spawners floating. I don’t know how this happened.
i wonder what adventure map makers will do with the knowledge that it’s possible to hide items in a tile entity that normally can’t contain items
Through analysis needed upon these 2 maps. Hopper hidden data may become op way to hide data.

Like Furnaces(items) or Lecterns(text data), command blocks(text data) etc...
Since spawners can have nbt data (to store mobs to spawn) they can store chest nbt and that's how it worked. So this means you can store chest nbt in a lectern anytime
This would be a really good farm if you turn it into one
Bruh in minecraft pocket, you place a spawner and right click on it with a spawn egg, and it can spawn anything. I dont know if its in java, so i dont know why all of you are crazy about new mob spawners.
It is in java. The intresting thing about this isn't just the pig spawner, it's that you can find it in survival without cheats.

If its possible to have the same y level, i think an end portal would be interesting
@@p.mil.1147 it is possible as bedrock spawned at y5 due to a burried treasure overwriting bedrock at y4, and there was lava at y5 and so it placed bedrock.
now using a spawner as a container is some top notch apple MC stuff

Oh wow a month felt like a _lot_ longer… maybe because a lot happened to me in that time.
Wow. This is one of the first Minecraft videos in a very long time to legitimately amaze me with complexity. The fact that such incredible things are still to be discovered about this game is just mind blowing. When the hopper picked items up from a mob spawner i couldn’t believe my eyes!
While a lot of the videos on the channel use mods or nbt editing to showcase the extremes where the game breaks (which are still super interesting, don’t get me wrong), having something like this occur in *completely unmodified vanilla Minecraft* is just bizarre.
Games like Minecraft feel ‘static’ in a certain sense. It’s easy to think “someone out there understands the code perfectly”, and so nothing can really be new or undiscovered (other than edge cases and new ways of exploiting the understood features).
This - however - completely shatters that perception. Pretty cool if you ask me!

This would make a crazy mob farm.
1 spawner spawns 4 pigs every 10-39.95 seconds, or 360.45-1,440 pigs per hour.
Each pig drops 1-3 pork and 1-3 xp when killed by the player.
This means that you would get 360.45- 4,320 pork per hour and 360.45-4,320 xp per hour.
And thats just from 1 spawner.
From 5 spawners, you would get 1,802.25-21,600 pork per hour and 1,802.25-21,600 xp per hour
Thats about 28-337.5 stacks of pork per hour. Each chest has 27 slots and each double chest has 54 slots. 337.5 stacks of pork would fill 6.25 double chests per hour. Thats insane.
I feel like these could actually be quite desireable. An afk pork chop farm connected to an auto smelter could basically give you infinite food.
probably not as useful when you set them next to other food items in the game, but as a novelty it's cool. honestly if i stumbled upon this in a survival world, i'd be eating nothing but porkchops probably well after i've beaten the enderdragon
So years ago on PS4 Edition (Legacy), an update occurred and converted one of my blaze spawners into a wither Skeleton spawner, I was somewhat annoyed that I’d lost my blaze farm but kinda glad I could AFK Wither Skeletons now.
A later update changed it again to a regular Skeleton spawner (in the nether) and made me sad, I believe it should still be a skeleton spawner if I still have that save file
The fact that the chest doesn't work because of the wrong set of data also reminds me of a fun little mod I use called Origins.
I was looking in the commands to see different origins to choose from, and there is actually a missing origin, which doesn't have any positive or negative powers.
For some reason, things like losing health and /kill do not work, but you can still lose hunger.
It confuses me that you can get hungry, but you cannot die or have any potion effects applied to you.
Kinda like how the chest doesn't have the data required to function as a chest, but can be combined to _look_ like a double chest.
Knowing you can pick up items from the fake pig spawner. Doesn't that mean you can also put items in it using a hopper?

I use to think of spawners for cages that trap animals but I could never figure out how to trap mobs or put mobs in the cage lol.

I have 2 pig spawners which didn't generate due to either of these circumstances. Pretty sure it happended through some bugs in between version updates.
They used to be empty when I first found them years ago, both were part of some regular looking dungeons.
When I checked on them some time (and Updates) later, they have turned into pig spawners

I had the bonus spawner thing happen to me in my hardcore world, spent like two irl days making a pig spawner farm, just to smack my head in frustration when it didn’t work for any reason I could surmise. Thanks antvenom! Now I know there probably was a mending book in there!
One time on the 360 edition. I had a dungeon had a creeper spawner but it looked like a pig spawner. I hope to find that world on my 360 and show it.

a small fun fact is that pigs are the mobs put in a spawner because it's the default mob when you place a spawner down, then you change the mob in it

On beta 1.6.6 every time I build a house there's at least four to five mob spawners underneath me and sometimes they spawn within one another causing a glitch where they'll be a double chest a single chest off to the side and two spawners in the center of the room along with a stack and 32 mossy cobblestone or at least close to that amount X3
As soon as you said the chest covers itself on all 5 sides with the block i instantly knew exactly how this happens lol. I remember back in the day as a kid using MC Edit to make spawners and finding out that spawners defauly to pigs lol
