I think perhaps the best series EVER on telly. Everything stopped for me when this came on 9 pm on a Friday evening. I’ve watched all the repeats many, many times and they never loose their appeal. Well cast and brilliantly acted and scripted.

This show is very realistic we had a big drinking culture, earned huge money and enjoyed life. I worked for a ex German officer who served ten years in Russia, he was a fine honest ramrod straight gent, great memories great show.

Just got back from a weekend in Nottingham, turned on "Auf Wiedershen Pet", and there were the lads drinking tea in the caf we'd been at all weekend (locally known as the Ponderossa).
Great series, I remember these times very well, Thatcher's Britain wasn't a great place to be for most people and this superb series summed it up well.
