Thanks for checking out the video! Timestamps for important steps in the process are in the description! I hope this tutorial can be a bit more helpful / insightful than the last one. I wanted to try explaining why everything needs to work the way it does, just so you have context for why we're doing every step. As a teacher (outside of YT), it's important to me that everyone understands why and how certain steps are being done. If you have any more questions, leave a comment! EDIT: There is an easier way to apply the second layer textures than what I showed. You can click CPM > Add Part > Second Layer, then select all your second layer parts. Then, right-click the texture, and select Apply to Elements. You will still have to resize the arm if you are using a slim model, but it is much easier than what I discussed. It's awesome! I just got an idea of creating a character that wears goat skull as a mask but didn't know how to make it, since the big horns on the side would be flat + i want people to still be able to see a face of my character, specifically the fact that they got half burned face almost to the skull. I just got inspired from that one hyper realistic fanart of a tubbo wearing a goat skull + MADK character J. And some of the details were part of my own character story i created.
I stumbled upon this randomly and I’m not disappointed, I’ve been messing with models and animation stuff for bit now, because I have a project I’ve been wanting to do and trying to work on, half of that being how to code for mods because of everything I want to do with it. Anyways I’ve made a few blockbench models which I’m quite happy with but I always found it restricting in the angles I can work with, some of those models I want to do some texture animations and whatnot but I don’t think I’ll get much animation done in blockbench especially when I want to get whole scenes in, learning blender and how to code is a pain, but I know it’ll be worth it in the long run for what I want to do. Though I do think i have found a mod that I’m going to use continuously now along side the others I always use, i definitely found this interesting and seems like it’d be easy to follow along in some way so kudos 👍🏻

hi, these tutorials have been super helpful :D ive just encountered one issue, while everything else seems normal and ive managed to get everything working i have no option for animation types. when i try to port it into a cpm project to put in game it asks to select animation types for each of my animations, but when i click auto fix nothing happens at all, no selection box, no fix, nothing. the tab doesnt even go away. even when i create an animation or edit properties theres just no option for it, it looks different from your video. was this an update or maybe some kind of plugin?

Just wanted to say, I haven't watched this yet. I did watch your first video though, and it has come in real handy. Personalized my GT:NH experience a little since I'll be dumping a ton of time on there.
Sorry if this is an annoying comment, but I simply don't know what I'm doing wrong at a certain point since my experience deviates from the video. :/ At 35:10 you're able to export it to the paste site, but every time I do it I get an error. (I get a Mouse Event error, then I get a Fetching Model error) I go to Tom's paste site in my browser and it says I need to log in to use it so I follow the directions on the main page and it just ropes me around in a circle telling me I have to log in. I just keep getting errors when trying to export the file and idk what to do. :( I also can't seem to get the button on the top left like you do at 33:27. I'm able to open the program through Blockbench but that's it. I tried my best to follow every step in order but I just can't figure this out. It's a really great video and well-thought out, I think I'm just incapable of doing it.
This video helped me so much! I just made a great player model. But I just want to ask. I used Figura, I couldn't find the same plugin in the video. But with the animation it doesn't ask about walking, idle, running, etc. why is that? And can you make those animations with Figura?
@@brooklynnwilmoth4907 I think with Figura, you may only be able to set an idle animation. Blockbench has a Figura plugin that can help with model creation, but the animation screen is slightly different. I may look into more with Figura, cause that’s what I used to use for these sorts of models.
really interesting, ive done my first CPM model thanks to your tutorial, but how do i change how armor is displayed on the skin if i have non-standard body-parts? for example a naga/lamia model with a snake like torso would display leg armor differntly than a less humanform challenged model. how do i do that? edit: saw that you answered that question already, cant wait for that tutorial. subbed edit edit: please do one on walking animations as well, would be really helpful

This video tutorial was great! I was trying to add a feature where you could choose between wearing different outfits on the model, and I set each outfit to be a "New Toggle Layer" animation. I put all of the animations under the same Layer Group Name. I'm not sure if this is how it's supposed to be done, but all of the outfit toggles appear separately and I can toggle multiple at a time. Do you know how to set the outfits to be in a list where you can only select one option?
Hello! Thats for the tutorial! Im currently have a problem where when I download the plug-in the create new model button dosnt show up at all- I was wondering if you knew how to fix this? all good if you dont tho and thanks again for the tutorial
I'm so infuriated right now. I've went through the texture so many times to make sure there wasn't any leaking. I used a padded texture but the uvs aren't loading in through the mod. I've made sure the texture size was able to be imported, I've renamed every file to the same thing, I've added files alongside the models into the player_models folder and I'm legit going insane rn. ToT
Dumb question, but if I wanted to export my model for use in and adventure map? There is a "Custom NPC Mod", it can accept skin urls. If there is a method to export as a mob, it can also pull models from any mob in the game, even if said mob does nothing that would also work.
I doubt the Custom NPC mod allows for this, but OptiFine has a feature that allows for Custom Entity models, and it's supported by Blockbench by default. You could try to recreate the model.
@@nullifi3d_ i learned a bit about this, now i can replace vanilla animations with custom ones, but i lose the overlay animations like using a punch while running, i dont understand how to make them work at the same time. I'll be waiting for your video!
I had spent about 4 hours following this tutorial and modeling, the second I hit create new texture all of the cubes including the base skin model were mashed into the center. @@nullifi3d_ Ha, I'm perfectly fine with watching another video, you seem to be the only person I've discovered so far to be so in-depth with this variation of blockbench and model.
Question, I got a message when Exporting that just said "Unknown Root Group" for every single group with an "Auto Fix" option for every one. What does this mean? What does it do?
I'm not sure if this is a me thing or not but when I try to create a new texture for the model parts there is no "compress texture" option to click off and it keeps making the placement super random and it's quite annoying does anyone now why or how I can fix that?
I got my model done, but the animation parts is too tricky for me. So I was wondering if you can just do the model in BlockBench, but work on the animations in the CPM mod?
do you know if this works with the fresh moves resource pack? Great tutorial btw! I've been wanting to do something like this for a while since minecraft skins really cant properly capture the antlers and cat-like tail I have on my character lol
Is there a way to make things fade in and stay in / hapen after a set period of time during a certain animation? Like for example, after a minutes of idle animation your character begins to fiddle with casting spells?

Hello! Thats for the tutorial! Im currently have a problem where when I download the plug-in the create new model button dosnt show up at all- I was wondering if you knew how to fix this? all good if you dont tho and thanks again for the tutorial
I found a solution that works! If I open it in the browser it seems to work fine XD the actual downloaded versions still doesn't work though lol
ToT
Very nice, but what I want to learn is how to do custom hat textures that can be overlayed onto a pumpkin
@@KalendorStorm I can make a video about custom models in a texture pack if wanted. That’s the best option for what you’re looking for.
Thanks. 😁
Very nice informative video and good content , can u make tutorial how to replace vanila to full custom animations PLS!
@@rainbowboii Absolutely! That’s something I’m still learning about myself, but once I figure it out, I’ll a video about it!
I tried to ctrl Z, but that didn't change anything. I don't think I'm ever going to touch this program again, because I damn near punched a hole through my monitor when it happened.
Funny and usefull, thank u
Could you possibly show how to create weapons, armor, etc, and their implementation?
@@NexusEhh Sure! Weapons can be done without CPM, but I can show both! They’d likely be different videos, however.
@@nullifi3d_ Ha, I'm perfectly fine with watching another video, you seem to be the only person I've discovered so far to be so in-depth with this variation of blockbench and model.
It was very informative!!!!! I hope to see more OuO
Soukakou spotted, zzz fan noticed
@@monothephantom From the tests that I just did, it seems it does not.
@nullifi3d_ Thanks for letting me know so fast! Unfortunate, but I figured it might not, which is why I asked :P. Once again, thanks for testing!
Is there a way to make things fade in and stay in / hapen after a set period of time during a certain animation? Like for example, after a minutes of idle animation your character begins to fiddle with casting spells?
