I have watched a bunch of other reaction videos for the series, and yours are by far the best. You have pointed out things no one else has ever mentioned, and by now I have seen most of the episodes almost 10 times each. Because of you I am gaining a whole new appreciation and understanding for the thought they put into every detail in the show. Also love your Interview with the vampire reactions!
FYI ... The scene with Mark crying at the tree was filmed one year to the day of Adam Scott losing his mom to ALS. When I saw that scene after I heard Ben Stiller tell that story, it was heartbreaking to watch.

Consider for a moment why Mark would have sculpted a tree during his wellness session. You learned the answer earlier in this episode, even if innie Mark didn't.
June telling Mark "maybe the best way to deal with a fucked up situation isn't to shut your brain off half the time" made him realize he needs to deal with Gemma's death and feel emotions which is why he went to the tree. Not only is he severed, but he's drinking all his time at home so he's not letting himself feel anything.
Also, I loved seeing a reactor who had the same thoughts I did about what Helly does at the end. Most reactors are like "nooo don't do it" but I was watching like "omg genius go girl kill that bitch". Obviously I wouldn't have opinions like that in real life situations, but here, its less about killing herself and more about killing her outtie. The thing is, if she were to quit, Inny Helly would effectively die as she would cease to exist. So if she gets out of there, her life is ending either way. Might as well take her outtie down with her. And it was genius to do it in the elevator
I'd love to see you read the Lexington letter! it's pretty short, the format is a series of emails between people. you could probably get through it in 30 minutes or less imo.

You asked about the Lumon logo being a water droplet, and the in-universe reasoning is that they began as a salve company, but theory-wise, there are also many references to water (all of MDR's file names are the names of large bodies of water, Irving being told "your outie values water") and soap ("Do you want Graner to use the bad soap?", Mrs. Selvig sells soaps and bath bombs at her shop). And yes, that is a little Kier Eagan head on Cobel's desk. Kier is the original founder of the company, but the current CEO is Jame.

But even you, like I, missed on first watch that Mark's wife's candle was used in that wellness session, and then Mark starts creating the tree where she had her accident. It shows there is some emotional/memory bleed over in the subconscious
In real life smell is the most strongly associated sense with memory, so it seems that Cobel is testing the extent/totality of severance in that scene
"Innie" Helly hangs herself in the elevator, so "Outie" Helly will suffer the majority of the hanging. That is some seriously messed up stuff.
I'm surprised you didn't put together that the tree Mark sculpted from clay was the one he went to outside at the site of the car crash.

The world-building is amazing, and I can tell Dan Erickson and Ben Stiller have put a lot of thought into this. I would love to see you react to Stranger Things! It's one of Netflix's most popular shows for good reason, and I'd love to see your level of analysis applied to it.

June not being surprised that Mark knew her name always seemed weird to me.
It’s entirely possible, even likely, that she was mentioned by name in the program for the service. And there was probably more than a few family pictures scattered around.
I wouldn't worry about mistakenly thinking this show is set in the 90s. A lot of people have talked about the confusing anachronisms of Severance, so I think it's very intentional. I think there was even an article that talked about it a bit. I mean, even the Lumon paintings look like they're from another time, although we're given no reason to believe they weren't created like this century or whatever. So that might be something fun for you to look into more once you've finished the season.
