Fun fact about Lawson, they started out near where I grew up in Ohio. There's no stores left from the chain here, but I remember them as a kid. It is strange to see their logo still being used in Japan. They were famous for their french onion chip dip.
You can still get the chip dip at Circle K.
They had at least 3 store in my town in Ohio.
Roll on, Big-O! Get that juice up to Lawson's in 40 hours~!
I live in Toledo, and I remember Lawson's too!!😂
Many stores and businesses we no longer have in the U.S. are thriving overseas in Asia. It is so nice to see them like coming home but going away. From food to clothing, all of the old favorites are there.
I love how the birbs multiplied in the distance with every new food item opening 😂
I love how the pigeons strolled in when you got to the fried chicken
Pigeon jumpscare
They came to see who eat their friends
They must be hungry as well.. 😂
The pigeons getting closer and closer w every bite you made 😂😂😂❤ I hope you shared something with them! Haha
Right? I was waiting for either one of them to be on the bench or for Bacons to show them sharing some food 😂
That egg sandwich looked scrumptious. Even the pigeon was eyeballing it.
Maybe it was the pigeon's eggs
@@fantachad1148 Could be. Lol
That jelly filled donut looked delicious!
The pizza bun and fries chicken both look very interesting. They would be my first choices.
thye pizza bun is a bit of a let down, but the chicken is delicious everytime, every flavor. The cheese isnt cheesy at all though, and there isnt much pronounced flavor.
MY persoanl fave was the hot chicken, i would get one of those, a juice box, and sometimes an egg sandwhich to go along with it for breakfast.
Funny enough, in American schools, our lunch halls actually served something similar to the chips. They were called "potato smiles" and were actual soft French fries instead of crispy chips. Been out of school for a few years now so I cant say if they still serve it
We have something similar here in the UK! I also can’t remember what they’re called lol, but you can buy them in most supermarkets and they’re really good.
@@sanguinebutch yayya, the potato smiles are also at our grocery stores!
They still do!
@@ZeepTheWocky aw hell ye
they still do. except they are actually soggy
I remember I have a warm memory about the taste of lawson fried chicken nugget. I was 8 years old back then, I’m not from Japan and I was always at the hospital for my whole stay in Japan (which means I never even went to Japanese convenience store). One time someone brought me lawson fried chicken nugget and I remember I love it so so so much since the very first bite, too much that I have their packaging beautifully engraved in my mind up until now😂 That’s why when I saw Karaagekun on your thumbnail I immediately clicked it as if I’m meeting someone I haven’t seen for a very long time (indeed, it’s been 13 years since I left Japan). Karaagekun is indeed really tasty, although I like the red one better😆Thank you so much for this content! I love the way your content brings back memories. Hope there will be a chance for me to go to Japan again soon and try many Japanese convenience store food especially that Karaagekun❤️
Anthony Bourdain loved those sandwiches that Lawsons had. It was in one of his episodes of No Reservations!
i love pigeons and them just being in the background makes this a lot better
It seems like pigeons are the same everywhere..begging for scraps..😊
Those pigeons looked ready to steal your food lol
I would give those birds some of that chicken nuggets and snacks 😊
I don’t know why but these videos are so addicting to watch
Among the many convenience stores in Japan, I feel that Lawson has the most delicious food.Especially the desserts are exceptional.
I like how the pigeons just show up out of nowhere
Convenience store food in Japan was so good and so cheap. We barely ate at restaurants.
Visiting Japan is on my bucket list. Lawson will be a stop for sure
That coffee cream desert looked so yummy! Coffee deserts are almost always so special and delicious !
The coffee dessert made me envious
I love gas station sandwiches. Reminds me of my childhood.
Pigeons are waiting for some crumbs 😊
Those pigeons are just waiting for you to drop something. I love cold noodle dishes, they’re my favorite.
The assorted sandwiches looks ready to settle down
Just in time for me to relax during bed 🫶🏽
This convenience store food review videos are my favorite 🙂
The pizza bun is one of my guilty pleasures from Lawson.
Is the bun part sweet like a Chinese bao?
@@happycook6737 nope
The coffee jelly and noodles looked refreshing 🎉
I love going to convenience stores here in the US, but the ones in your videos look like they're on another level. 😍
By the way, the smiley potato snacks reminds me of the smiley faced potatoes I've loved, since I was a kid.
Thank you for the very good, and very interesting video. I really enjoyed it. ❤
These videos are such a treat. Thank you.
the pigeons were so interested in your Lawson haul, DB 😂😂😂
Boy do I miss Japanese convenience store food. Ate from them for dinner a few times my last trip. Would do it again.
when my friend and I wnet, out airbnb was just across the street from a lawson and family mart. lol damn near every breakfast was had from them.
Ok, I could truck loads of those pizza buns!! Wow! 🤗🤗🤗
Those potato crisps reminded me of so many things from my childhood. First, space raiders, which were the same as those crisps but they were shaped like alien heads. They used to be so cheap for a bag, now I hardly ever see them. Secondly, the smiley face oven potatoes. Any British person knows what I’m on about. They were like fries…but shaped like a smiley face. It was a staple of British freezer food along with chicken dippers or fish fingers.
You can still get them, but what used to a be a cheap option is now really expensive
Man those pigeons were hanging out waiting for you to feed them.
The noodles dish really looked good. Everything else looked good.
I hope someday lawson i will try food in lawson, their foods look yummy
great video, my favorite was the egg salad sandwich 🥪 😋 😊🎉🎉
They’re supposed to be better in Japan
Everything looks sooo good!❤
Sandwiches are the ultimate convenience food. Egg and mayo, delicous!
The teriyaki chicken and egg sandwich they have sky rocketed to top of the list for me. Can't wait to get back next year to get my fill again.
So much this. I'm currently in Japan for 3 weeks vacation and the teriyaki chicken and egg sandwich is my go-to whenever I stop into a Lawson
I am so happy to see this video from one of my favorite stores. Lawsons has to be the best store ever. You can get anything and everything there. So many choices, great food, different snacks as you see here. Every time I am overseas I go to there. They have so many locations.
that pizza bun looks so good, i wish i could grab it through the video and eat it.
Lawson is very high on our list of must go’s when visit Japan!!!❤
7-11, Family Mart and Mini-Stop needs to be on your list as well.
Mini-Stop isn't as wide spread as the other 3 but they make some of their hot food fresh to order at the same price as the other 3 and in my opinion it's much better, the hot food & rice balls made fresh to order
@@wanderingronin4685 YES! Sounds amazing. Will most def all those to the list especially Mini-stop.
LOVE THE VIDEO ^>^
Yummy! I wish I was in Japan D:
The salmon 🍙 looks legit
yay!! I’m so happy you did a convenience store review! thank you so much for your channel, it’s literally perfect
Looks like the pigeons were waiting for lunch too! LOL
Man I need to stop watching your vids while I’m fasting, it makes it so much harder
Wow everything was so cheap and looked yummy. I wish New Zealand had cheap yummy food like that .
I was waiting DB will feed those pigeons lol
Cute fellas
That coffee dessert looked incredible! I've got to try to make that!
i saw so many of these in my time at japan
All looks very tasty. My first picks would be the cold noodle bowl and chicken nuggets.
Ty for another interesting video DB!
This was fun, especially the noodles at 7:13, where the chopsticks come with a warning that the "Toothpick may hurt your finger". Apparently, their toothpicks won't hurt your lips or tongue...LOL!
I live in the United States. Yesterday I saw 1 egg sandwich at a store for 5 USD! I can't believe how much cheaper food is in other countries. They always seem to taste much better, too.
Damn.$5 for 1 egg sandwich is just too much.
Yo podría ser cualquiera de esas palomas, esperando que caiga algo😂
Gran video como siempre ❤
The pigeons slowly moving in on you in the background is sending me
I'm from Ohio, and we had two Lawson stores in my very small hometown. The one was my favorite because they had movie rentals also. Their french onion chip dip was THE BEST and nothing I've tasted since compares. They also had good egg nog. I can remember my dad waiting too long to get a pint one year and he was sad.
a mega pint?
@@scudsturm1 😂😂
Those poor pidgeons came closer and closer to you in hope of getting something and they got nothing:) Felt sorry for them.
Same.
But their behavior suggests that they're used to getting fed by people, so they're likely doing fine.
@@DKay-gl3hv I like that idea.
The instructions for making British Rail sandwiches required extra filling to be put on the diagonal so they looked better, apparently also because it made it easier for people to see what the filling was. I think Poundland do something similar.
It would bug me SO much for the filling to not be evenly distributed. Yikes.
The pigeon is waiting for you to feed them 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The poor pigeons were waiting for some leftovers to fall 😂
The assorted sandwiches are probably awesome if you are indecisive about lunch.
I wish there was a place to get onigiri where I live. Man, it makes a good lunch. When I was in Japan I would get 2 or 3 onigiri and a bottle of green tea for lunch - it hit the spot!
I remember Anthony Bourdain raving about the egg salad sandwiches from Lawson's.
Why was I expecting him to feed the pigeons with the sandwiches and fried chicken😂
Those pigeons though.... 😅
Supermarket haul may be nice. I hear the prices are much lower than convenience store, like 60 yen for an onigiri that costs 163 yen.
HAPPY 3 MILLION!!!! IVE BEEN SUBBED EVER SINCE YOU HIT 200k ❤❤
Hello, I'm Vietnam. I'm very interested in Japan and also about your country's culinary culture. If you have the opportunity, you can enjoy Vietnamese cuisine at the restaurants and grocery stores of our country. ❤❤
Haven't had dried squid in a while --- looks tasty!
This explains why my son in Hikone is always at Lawsons there.
This makes me miss Japan soooooo much!
I love the jiggly foods hehe 🤭
私はサンドイッチ大好きです特にレタスサンド大好きです
I can see more than two things mom and i would love to try to eat there in that japanese convenienence store. The products look so different than what i’m used but these look delicious 😋 🇯🇵 ❤❤❤❤
Yay, just looked on your channel for new videos in case i missed one😊
They all taste awesome 😂 i understand why chris abroad got so big
You had a live audience for this one!
enak yaa varian makanan lawson nya banyak banget
The spicy chicken sandwich from Lawson’s was the best!
Thats what i love about Japan, you get what you see on the packaging. Here in America were always disappointed when we see the actual food as opposed to whats on the package.
mmm. gotta love spicy grilled dried squid soy sauce taste
7:10 - The pigeon gang begins to seriously make their move...
I've followed you for a while now, and I admit I haven't watched your videos lately as I haven't been on TH-cam much the last year. I noticed that your hands are significantly more shaky as they were a year ago. I'm not assuming anything, maybe you are cold. If it's anxiety or a physical health issue i hope you are getting the help you ask for. Thank you for continuing to take the time to make these videos. They are interesting and relaxing and I like to watch them to calm my anxiety and to wind down for bed. I wish you health, peace and joy. Thank you again for providing enjoyable videos.
I am in Japan right now. Just outside Shimo-kitazowa. Been in country since 23rd. Second time here. My go to is Family Mart. Just tried Jagabee potato sticks. Cheese...Yum!...Do love the Family Mart egg sandwichies. The bread here is so Fuwa Fuwa!...Hehe!. Came to Japan (from UK) for a concert at Yokohama Arena.
great video
Lawsons used to be a very popular store in the USA. Till a Japanese company bought them out and moved them all away. Was very sad to see them go.
Don’t be so nostalgic dude 😚
I was going to ask why they aren’t here anymore but you already answered, thanks! Too bad they are gone, they look fun.
@johnstein0057 I can and I will..and FYI..I am not a dude. 😘
I ❤ Lawson.
The salmon onigiri was amazing
the pigeons are SOOOOO wanting to try too
I think DB was hungry today, seemed very excited about the selections.
Lawson is also founded in the Philippines. There is one lawson store in Eastwood city while me and my family are walking around the eastwood city.
yum
The pigeons waiting for scraps to fall/ free lunch
One thing that surprises me is how everything looks so organized. Everything has almost the same color. Here in Spain, supermarkets tend to have lots of colors sprawled everywhere when it comes to selling products
