what if mommy cat has other kittens from the litter, waiting somewhere else for mommy to feed them? Besides, feral cats that are full grown don't make good house pets.
@@madshader that is not accurate... I know people who have rescued feral cats and they live with them... 7 and 9 cats for many years until they pass away
@@luzmarball5392 What makes you think this cat needs rescuing? If the cat was starving/injured or in distress, then sure, rescue, but otherwise leave it alone.

@@madshader the cat is at large risk being a stray which is why people rescue them she could get attacked by a dog,a human, another cat, contract a disease that goes to her next litter or kills her, she could get run over and many other things there’s a reason people rescue stray animals

The thing that made me cry was seeing the mother cat watching how humans saved her baby, and then how she walked away... Because to me, it showed the answer that some of these commenters are looking for: The mother cat walked away after watching her kitten being rescued by humans, because she didn't want to be caught ( as she enjoys living on the streets), but she kept meowing to make sure humans would totally safe her baby! Because the kitten got stuck in a pillar and wasn't made to live on the streets. Now mother cat will be happy and free, knowing/understanding she did a great job as mother cat ( did everything she could: make sure your kitten keeps on living in safety) and her kitten got a servant, will become incredibly spoiled and will never again live on the streets.
Yes that is very romantic. But what really happened is that humans did an amazing job saving a kitten and then simply took it, it should have been with its mother. That is where she belonged...
Wish it would be so. But I don' t think the mother think as far as that.

the maternal instinct must have been very strong for mom cat to call for help! Cats can abandon their kittens if they lose the maternal instinct which is strong by keeping their scent on the baby, like licking and giving her a bath and stroking their fur on the place where baby is. So, if mom-cat revisits the area where baby is rescued, I pray hope she didnt feel grief or loss.

Mother cats who live on the street usually abandon their kittens if they are in trouble. Most mother cats push their kittens to independence around three months of age. Usually street cats are very wary of people and tough to capture, like this mother cat.
It’s a good thing that the kitten was fed and received attention before finding a butler.

I have had experience with a mother cat who had her kittens, and raised them to the age where she takes them out into the daylight to begin to learn. One by one those kittens disappeared. In our neighborhood, there are dogs, and from the nearby woods, owls,snakes, tom cat, all will take a kitten for dinner. So this mother cat watched and searched for weeks and weeks, from the top of our patio wall. I thought she would give up. But no. Even soon she was pregnant again. 63 days to birthing. And such care again to raise her babies. And again, she lost them, one by one. This time, I asked my sons to help me. We trapped her, and I took her to vet. And when she had shots and was spayed, I took her and made her our cat. She watched for kittens still. 8 years ago, she found one, about 8 or 10 weeks old, and she brought him home to our patio, where she knew there was food and water. And I adopted him, also. To day, she is 15 years old. She is our front door cat. She still
,stands watch sometimes,
And we have 3 cats now. If she finds another kitten, I will have to honor her, and adopt it as well.

The kitten wasn’t stolen away. The mother cat left knowing her kitten was in good hands and would be taken care of.

It's sad and amazing at the same time, that mother cat walks away after seeing the kitten being rescued.

I've seen several of these kitten recues and they always leave the mom behind, it seems like if the mom was devoted enough to stick around she would have gladly walked into a trap to be with her baby. It's just sad for the mom.
It's also sad for the kitten - kittens that age generally need their mom - but there is a chance there's a whole litter of kittens elsewhere who need the mom more than this kitten will now that it's with a rescue group. so simply trapping the mom wouldn't solve that problem.

That's not really how it works though. She more than likely has other kittens and she may trust people enough to care for her kitten.
She probably thinks the kitten is dinner and effectively dead. Why would she then walk into the trap too, to only just also become dinner?
Think about it from their perspective not a humans.

I think if kittens are away from their moms for too long a time, especially feral, there is a possibility of rejection. Kitten Lady mentioned that in one of her video's.
If you watched the mom cat left as if she knew the kitten would be all right once she was rescued. I had hoped they be reunited too but she could have the rest of her litter some place else and needed to attend to them.

The mom might still have the kittens siblings...the mother cat goes back and forth to the roof cause her kitten is in trouble inside the pillar....

We wouldn't know if the mama cat has other kittens, so instead of trying to get her, it's better this way unless the mother cat is in danger.

I think it's amazing that cats can squeeze through narrow spaces. The cats in such situations have amazing willpower, too.

The sweet kitten looked so happy and at peace after getting a nice bath, a brushing, and a warm towel to sleep on. The mother cat knows her baby is fine. Mother animals just know when their babies will be saved.

It still amazes me how there are still people out there willing to do anything to rescue tiny creatures like this poor baby furry butt. I'm glad they exist, humanity and compassion is still not lost in this world.
