go to ultimate guitar . com and they have the lyrics and the chords on top of them....also...type in "Matt mccoy strumming" in the youtube search box and watch some of my videos on that topic. hey Scarlett,...have you tried the strumming that I do on the song "I'll Fly Away?" that one is pretty advanced and also the fingerpicking strumming i do on God of this city is cool too i think.
by the way, obviously i'm a taylor guitar fan but never really played a fender much

strumming pattern is the question i get asked most often, Check out a few of my strumming videos. The key is focus on timing per chord. Make sure you don't think about it in terms of "Down/up, up down"..you want to think more, how long you should stay on one chord til it's time to switch

i'm awful at giving out strumming patterns. When I slow the strumming down to figure it out it throws my timing all off and i get confused.

i'm AWFUL at explaining strumming patterns! haha I wish i was better at it...when i slow down to try to see what the pattern is it throws off my timing and then i can't ever get it right....i need to work on that!
