i like how she did something so irresponsible, but he doesnt treat her like she is irresponsible. he treats her like a kid who made a mistake, but hes still proud of her because she owns up and faces her mistake and doesnt fall apart in the process.
Incredible how JK Simmons plays a supportive and caring father in this film, while in Whiplash; which rightfully won him an Oscar; he plays an abusive and cruel teacher
I’m lucky enough to have a father like this and I’ll forever be green for that. He’s such a strong figure in my life and has taught me so many things. He’s always been there for me and supported me no matter what. Obviously we bicker and fight but he is truly the best father I could ever have.
I am coming back to this scene almost years later because I remember taking a summer writing camp where we watched this scene as an example of natural dialogue that’s humorous and heartwarming
I always loved this conversation. That's what true unconditional love from a parent should look like! And his smirk at the end when she tells him oh yeah I was totally talking about you! 😂
If I was going to be stuck on a deserted island and could only take five movies with me? This would be one of them. This is one of the best movies ever!
I hated it when she talked back to Brenda when Brenda tried to warn her about the husband. Juno should have at least listened. Its funny the things we can only learn through experience...
@@anja6983 thats only half true, the real truth is ellen page is not actually ellie from the last of us but she got mad at the creators for "ripping off her likeness"
Part of me wants to say that I liked this film but the humor was just so dry. However, the two redeeming factors to this film were the pro-life message and JK Simmons as the father. Usually I am used to JK Simmons playing very angry characters like J Jonah Jameson in Spiderman, Terrence Fletcher in Whiplash, Mayor Lionheart in Zootopia, and Tenzin in Legend of Korra.
Time Machine Needed She’s with the dad and she gave the child to a single mom anyway. Besides, I’m not talking about sociology and stats, I’m talking about the love a mother has for her baby.
I think she knew she wasn't ready and that someone else was more prepared and could love that baby just as much as she could. I think it was a responsible decision and it gave another woman a chance at being a mother, when it seemed like biologically it wasn't working out for her.
Time Machine Needed First of all, calm down. Second, no, she knew that their marriage was over and the plot twist was that she gave her baby to Jennifer Garner anyway. Third, I said nothing about loneliness and it’s America and Juno has got a support system. It’s not like she and her baby were going to starve. Micheal Cera would also apparently step up to the task, and he could have gone to college and gotten a good job to support his new family. Fourth, you still don’t understand what I’m saying if you think that the bond between a mother and her child is based on loneliness.
Time, You’re being melodramatic. You also still don’t understand my comment. I said that I could not believe that she would give up her baby. That’s a comment about myself, not Juno. I’m saying that I could never have done that. Would that have made me a bad mom? No, because I know that I would have been the best person to raise my child.
"Hey, dad."
"Hey, big puffy version of June-bug."

Yeah, Juno's dad is slightly different than Verne Schillinger lol
His little smile at the end is adorable :) very good acting; thoroughly convincing as a proud papa

Wasn’t he a really cruel inmate in Oz?
Having a dad like JK Simmons must be terrifying, and if you drag or rush tempo you’ll loose the baby

Bring him pictures of Tobey Maguire in a costume and everything will be fine

With that revelation, that the father of her child is her soulmate, shouldn't she keep the kid.
soulmates make great romantic partners, not necessarily great parents
