    are the main bearings prone to failure or is it just the conrod bearings on the s54s and s65/s85s?

      Just the conrod. The force produced by combustion smashes the conrod down onto the crank, which wears the bearings out etc.
      The wear happens due to the specific viscosity of the oil, thicker when cold and because of the tight factory designed bearing clearance

    Can the mounts support the engine with added torque from center beam removal? Is it twisty?
