That Island Cafe has the BEST Key Lime Pie EVER! Would have been interesting to see ya stop at Smallwood Store on Chokoloskee Island, been in the same family 7 generations. There's information there also bout a serial killer called Bloody Ed Watson the locals killed at the store due to he had been killing folks and stealing from em. He had some runnings with Belle Starr too. Love that lil boat! My Great Uncle Kelly was a commercial fisherman in that locale in the days of Al Capone and such. He is buried up in these Tennessee hills now.
The wife and I love it down there and always say we would love to live there when we visit. We try to get down there three or four times a year with our boat and camp on the outer Islands which I know you guys love to do as well. Your boat should easily make it out to Rabbit or Jewel key as we used to paddle out there with our paddle boards or our canoes prior to buying a boat. Not sure if you ever watch any of my videos but I just posted Ours from December when we went out there for our anniversary and stayed on Tiger key our favorite. In town our favorite dining spot is the Island Cafe as they have great food at great prices and we just love their all the way loaded Pizza plus they normally have a salad bar but closed it due to Covid. By the way the owner of the Everglades Fishing Company eats there all the time as well as all the other locals. We launch our boat at chokoloskee Island Park which put you closer to the coast and you don't have to navigate down all the channels from town. They have great facilities and for a small fee you can park and leave your vehicle and trailer there on site. I agree everybody's really laid back around there and if you spend a whole week down there you'll never want to go home.
I own a condo right there next to the captains table. Love it down there. Try to go atleast once a month. I have been going my entire life and my dad and grandfather have been going better part of 40 years. Definitely stick to the channel if you don’t know where you’re going.
What a delightful find, so serendipitous. I was looking for vids on the Everglades Challenge and you two popped up with such a neat boat I’ve never seen before. Thanks for the journey, cheers!!
Hi, what model trolling motor is that? What are your thoughts on it, like if it is worth the money? Reliability ? I have a lt25 and I’m undecided wether to spend the money on the i pilot style or regular manual trolling motor. I’m more worried about how reliable thee ipilot is.
Ours is a Minnkota Riptide. Joel says that he has had both and he prefers the manual one. He thinks it’s more precise and easier to control. Ours came with our Gheenoe.
You two give me confidence that my husband and I can make our own TH-cam channel. You are a pleasure to watch
Thanks for the closeup of the Everglades City boat launch! It looks like I can Put in my 25' Searunner trimaran sailboat there nicely.
Great trip guys. Can not wait to get my Gheenoe to take the wifey on some of those great adventures. Great video!

You guys have made my favorites list. I like watching from the treadmill at my gym. Keep up the great work. A++++
Awesome! Thank you!
I sure enjoy watching you two . It’s a real pleasure. Thanks ❤️

Thanks for all the great info. I will definitely go watch your video. I have the island camping on my list for when it gets cooler again!
Thx for sharing We have a vacation home there and your comments were spot on. Except no Nellys after 3:00 pm or city seafood
Good to know. Thanks!

That is a nice or perfect boat for that place.
I was so hoping you guys were going to make this trip down to the 10000 islands. Just waiting for you to do a week in the keys with the Gheenoe!
We will be at the Gheenoe rally in the keys in June!!!

How do you have a $20,000 gheenoe and not have a $100 chart plotter.
I get it but the chart plotter we want is $1200 and it just hasn’t been priority. Maybe later this year!
Next time go to the gulf of Mexico and cast from your boat.
Make more gheenoe vids
We will absolutely do that. We are taking the Gheenoe to the keys in June.
