As a Canadian who lived in England for 5 years, in my experience the closest thing they had to the hood would be council estates in poorer areas, a lot up north (that’s where I was, so what I saw most) and the younger troublemakers were known as yobs.
if you want to watch something with a 'hood' element to it that takes place in england, attack the block is a really unique, not too gory or scary alien action movie. i remember it being really funny, and just good character work.

But I've always loved this movie and it hurts me to see you talk about Oliver James like that Billy even if it's funny because I love him and I love his singing. Last I heard about Amanda Bynes, she had a fiance (but I don't think she does anymore?) and she posts on Twitter about how she doesn't have any money and that her parents took everything. Sounds like she's in a conservatorship like Britney Spears was. New York and California are definitely very different! I live on the East Coast (I'm from Philadelphia) so I would say that the vibes are very similar to New York. I always think of California as being very relaxed, laid back, chill, and no rush. I knew where I was going to go/what I was going to do before I graduated High School, but I feel like that might not be the norm. You're right, the covers of the songs are definitely not giving anythinggg hahaha. This is in my top 5 favorite movies of all time. The number one spot is another Amanda Bynes movie She's The Man. But I've always loved this movie and it hurts me to see you talk about Oliver James like that Billy even if it's funny because I love him and I love his singing. I remember trying to put his songs on my mp3 and then later on searching iTunes for them to put on my iPod. I'm happy you enjoyed it Billy! Oh and Amanda Bynes was in a conservatorship for years and recently was let out of it, she does have some weird stuff going on with her boyfriend though. I love Amanda and I would love it if she acted again one day but I don't think she will.

@katywithatea as a teenager I was IN LOVEEEEE with Oliver James. My brother and I went to the theater to see Raise Your Voice everyday for a week. I love that my brother is gay and we have so many awesome movie nights lol.

I used to love Amanda Bynes, people told me I used to look like her when I was younger! Last I heard about Amanda Bynes, she had a fiance (but I don't think she does anymore?) and she posts on Twitter about how she doesn't have any money and that her parents took everything. Sounds like she's in a conservatorship like Britney Spears was. New York and California are definitely very different! I live on the East Coast (I'm from Philadelphia) so I would say that the vibes are very similar to New York. I always think of California as being very relaxed, laid back, chill, and no rush. I knew where I was going to go/what I was going to do before I graduated High School, but I feel like that might not be the norm. You're right, the covers of the songs are definitely not giving anythinggg hahaha. I remember watching this movie when I was little and feeling exactly like Amanda Bynes' character, wanting to be able to dance with my Dad (him and I had an estranged relationship).
Yay! I feel like I haven't seen Billy in a while. I'm happy he watched this. This movie is something I watch about a thousand times growing up. It is sooooo good. (and also yeah I've been thirsty for hours now and for some reason I was procrastinating on just getting up and getting a tall glass of water until Billy yelled at me to go drink water 😅😅)

As a fresh 19 year old who graduated high school in 2021 at 17... I'm still trying to find MY dream college. Don't get me wrong they're all lovely but... I haven't found my fit yet and although this process isn't easy, it's better than settling for less than the best. And for my peeps still in high school, take your time and don't try to rush life, enjoy the moments y'all and make the most of it.
