- Dreadnaught (aka Yong zhe wu ju) is a Honk Kong kung fu film from 1981 featuring Biao Yuen and Tak-Hing Kwan as the legendary Wong Fei-Hung.
This scene, from early on in the film, features a fantastic example of the lion dance, as two schools compete against one another in an opening ceremony blessing.

The Northern lion is supercute and more playful and animal-like... The southern lion is more traditional and symbolic representation of a lion.
An acrobatics scene and a fight scene both in the form of Lion Dance.

5 Types of Lions in this Video:
1 - Southern Lion (mostly it has a different style named, “Fo Shan” because the style of the mouth, even there’s another called, “He Shan”)
2 - Hainan Tiger (mostly not a lion, but called a Tiger Dance)
3 - Northern Lion (The dances are usually more playful than the Southern Chinese Lion’s and can sometimes include a “family” of lions)
4 - Hokkien Lion (or called a Green Lion, but aggressive and fierce)
5 - Hakka Lion (Hakka Lion in a different style, but also kinda look similar to a Hainan Tiger)

As an Asian teen high schooler that has alot of chinese friends and usually gets invited to watch lion dances during chinese new year- Im still terrified of the lion dance 🧍and it all started when I was 6 🕳️🏃💨 idek why Im watching this but its so amusing and scary at the same time 🥲
