I am glad that these cars are being saved and restored. They are the children of human genius and artistic expression. They should be treasured as a grand part of humanity's heritage for all the ages yet to come.

Every video in this Great Cars series is so well done. I enjoy the tone of the presentation as much as the content.

There’s nothing more rewarding than driving something you restored with your own two hands.

Beautiful cars, back in the day when each manufactures vehicles where easily distinct from each other, not like modern vehicles which all look basically the same, apart from a few exceptions.

Paul Cost they didnt have wind tunnels which basically shape every car the same, the wind doesnt care about the aesthetic history of a brand. Dot restrictions on light placement, crash testing, etc. its no longer an artist drawing things, and while i love all of my classic cars im very happy when someone survives a crash today that would have killed them 50 years ago.

True, but there is some room for individuality.

      Aerodynamics has displaced style

@@richharr90s car where more aerodynamic ( Audi 100 ) yet they looked better and unique.
Modern car look fat because they try to fit as many 'luxury feature' everywhere as they can !
Modern car are heavier, less reliable but feel safer and this is what modern driver want, a feeling of safety and ease of driving !
      Laziness is a desease...

Thank god no one can 'buy' elegance let alone 'restore' it. To me these events are like costume parties on golf courses where everybody appears in expensive mockup Ludwig XIV gear. It is probably the furthest point from the intentions which drove an artist and mondain like Ettore Bugatti. Tempi Passati.

If you are talking about a town car, there is a roof which slides back into the passenger roof and pulled back out during inclement weather over the chauffeur.

If I were to bring my car there, it would spoil it for the other owners. Plus they would come to expect it.
Also out of consideration for the other owners that I don't - IF my car was there, they wouldn't want to see any others.

@ 7:05 Putting a collection of valuable automobiles in a garage under a swimming pool? How stupid is that? One word: Leaks!

I don't know. Seems like a pretty smart way to house your cars if you don't have the space. The owner did launch his own museum and is working with the Petersen Museum so he has found suitable homes for some of his collection and a way to share these cars with the public.

This is so painful to watch! A car can only be original once!! Today these works of art would have been conserved. What is being done here is like stripping off all the paint of an old master, washing the canvas then repainting as close as before, a copy.
