- This camel loves to run with his herd of horses and llamas, he even breaks them out to play! Josee was shocked to see a camel for sale and thought it was a scam, but Shamy was real and came to her. Right away he wanted the horses to be his friends but they weren’t so sure. He wore them down and now he’s part of a great big family

What a happy boy he made me smile. Fun fact here in Australia we have the largest population of wild camels in the world. They were introduced in the 1840s for exploration and to help with heavy work.

Camels are large, powerful animals. Fortunately Shammy seems to be a very congenial animal for his breed. Camels have a reputation for being quite ornery. They tend to bite and spit. You got a keeper in Shammy, for sure.

Thank you for rescuing this beautiful gorgeous animal. I absolutely love his personality it's so rare to see that with camels. I just love seeing how he reacts to snow. He's like a 5-year-old seeing the first snowfall. The way he swung his legs in the air when he was playing in the snow, it was hilarious to watch, and then he rolls in it. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful, detailed video with him and the other animals. It shows how we as humans should learn from all animals. They could careless what kind of animal you are. They show compassion, respect, and love for each other.

Camels and Ilamas belong to the camelid family. Little known fact is camels evolved in the New World, then migrated to Asia and like the horse that followed a similar path there, became extinct here. Glad to see Shamy is living his best life! 😊

i love camels! there is one at the Arbuckle wild animal drivethru in oklahoma, and he is wonderful. i went there, and i always buy at least $50 of the food they sell. pelleted food thats ok for all the animals BUTi wanted to find a store food that wouldnt hurt any of them. (FYI corn can kill a neutered goat, and they have tons of goats), so always be careful!!! BUT after researching i found carrots are good for all of them. so i smuggled in like $100 worth of carrots and out them on the floor in my front passenegers foot area. of course i gave some to the camel, got great pics, BUT he wanted them all. so he put his ginormous head in my passeneger front window and smelled them, and oh oh he wouldnt get out CAMELS stink to high heaven, but they are so cute, so precious! i had to drive with him in my car, like 5mph to make him go. he trotted along with his head in my car for a while. LOL it was great! we both loved every minute of it! cant wait to go back! ARBUCKLE wild animal drive thru on intertstate 35 just barely inside oklahoma i think its like exit 38ish?

I had my mind blown a couple of years ago when I found out that camels originated in the Americas, but became extinct millennia before Columbus came to our shores. BTW, that also applied to the horse.
