i agree with you, but i only want to add this to put things in perspective: she did state her opinion, but only for about 40 minutes of the podcasts. And it was especially fucked up because it was with burnie on the podcast so i was waiting for a enjoyable podcast and then you get a rant in which no one dared to say anything because it would be commented sexist or racist probably.

For those of you who don't know, people don't like Micah because she went on a huge rant about how she's a bisexual black woman who has been a victim her whole life and went on about how everyone else is racist, sexist, etc. Many people (including me) were very annoyed with the rant-that's why there are so many dislikes.

No, that's actually true. Sure people didn't like her before because they found her unfunny, but her whole rant on Off Topic was definitely the final straw for most people to decide they don't like her.
Sorry, but that's not what the rant was about whatsoever. She pointed out a few problems in society and then proceeded to link those to her own experiences. Her point was to show how these issues exist in all layers of society and that she has indeed had to experience them *despite* being well off.
Not once did she claim to have been a victim her whole life, nor that everyone is racist, sexist, etc. If that's what you gathered from the things she said, you clearly weren't paying attention.

The wage gap is 100% myth and she's the daughter of a wealthy actor from California, one of the most liberal places around. She's free to say what she wants, just like how I'm free to say that she's a fucking moron for her incorrect information. Get over it, little girl.
The wage gap is and isn't a thing at the same time. It depends on a lot of variables, including education, the company you work at, and the state you live in. In a survey hosted by U.S. Census Bureau, women earned 90% to 65% of what men earned under the same circumstances (Year round employees and full time workers). There are companies that don't have a wage gap, and there are companies that do. It's more often than not the companies that don't release their employee salary records that have the wage gap than not.
The company my mom previously worked at had a wage gap. Some of the employees made a spreadsheet of all the employees' wages (which each employee would individually fill out) and they saw that the lowest paid male was still being paid almost 10% more than the highest paid female, despite having almost identical jobs and similar effort.
Wage gap may also stem from the fact that women are more likely to work public service jobs or jobs that have a lower annual income, or even child birth. Lower paying jobs would obviously drag down the mean of all incomes and having a child could also slow down or stop a woman's career.
Honestly, the wage gap is a very finnicky issue because it is a thing, but it's also not a thing in all areas.

The issue is that people wait all week for this podcast like people do with their favorite TV show. When they turn on the podcast they've been waiting all week for see someone that completely and single-handedly ruined the last podcast she was on they get upset.

She doesn't have to learn to avoid rants because she's already proven she can. Her last appearance on Off Topic was the only time that ever happened. I can totally understand why that rant would make you not like her, I certainly didn't like it either. But much like Jack and politics, that only annoys me when it actually happens. She hasn't done it since, and I'm fine with her being in videos so long as she never does it again.
I really like Mica, but I understand why some people don't. Her humor isn't for everyone! Great video nonetheless!

As an American, one of the things that pisses me off the most about this country is that train travel sucks. Honestly, we should have an advanced enough country to have a solid bullet train system.
The only reason our country has pretty shit train systems is because we used to have the best train system, and then we invented planes and left the train system as is. Really the only things that have changed are the engines being used and any section of track that needed to go. And because of our pretty extensive air travel network, there really isnt anything driving towards the improvement of the train network.
There are actually discussions in place for high-speed train links between certain major cities, particularly in Texas. Not sure anyone will agree to fund it though, mostly because we have a ridiculously extensive airport network.

I've been waiting 39 episodes for Michael to spill his beer and finally it happened
I started listening to this while at work. After work, picked up as much street food as I wanted, went home and started rewatching. So much food talk.
Reminder to all the people bothered by the comment section that, even though it may not seem like it...the people who hate on Mica are actually a very small minority within the viewer base. the likes far outweigh the dislikes and that isn't even factoring in the tens upon hundreds of thousands of people watching who really dont give a shit. The comments seem mostly negative because statistically and psychologically you are more likely to give negative feedback rather than positive feedback (humans like to complain instead of compliment). Roosterteeth/AH is incredibly unlikely to take this small portion of hate to heart because frankly it's insignificant, especially since the reasoning all of the stupid haters is always false. (Some examples being people who complain about her previous "rant" when in fact she was going to stop but the OTHERS ON THE PODCAST WHOM YOU ALL LIKE kept telling her to continue!) (Another example being that she can't possibly experience oppression because her dad is famous, that just shows you know nothing about society and classism/racism/sexism/homophobia/etc)

And they're consistently nicer and more positive about new people being added. People on the site enjoy Mica, so unless you find a way to send them a message, Mica is here to stay. They want to make content that fans enjoy, but they have long written off TH-cam comments as being nothing but whining and bile, and therefore don't pay attention to any feedback that the comments give them. TH-cam comments make no difference to them. TH-cam views do.

I think the problem is that Achievement Hunter especially jams the new hires down your throat and it leaves a bad taste. Look at channels like Funhaus, when they get someone new, they ease them into the crew and see if the fans dig them or not. It's a much better system and it'd be dope if AH started doing it.

I made a fan account for Mica about a year and a half ago, and she both fell in love with AND followed it within half an hour of me making it. I love Mica. If you don't, fuck off. Nobody asked you to comment "Ooh, I don't like her because she talked about her struggles and she ranted" literally this entire podcast is a rant. Achievement Hunter, You honestly have a very narrow mind set on how you view vegans. We are not all that guy who chucked his phone at the wall because of cheese in the sauce. We are not all doing it to be "cool" Many of us who have chosen this lifestyle to abide by do so for health reasons. Not just because of coeliac disease. You all didn't even pause to think about that which is a bit disturbing. It is your opinions but an un educated opinion. Yeah, she has her own experiences, which in turn lead to her own views/opinions, but my point is that it all stems from ignorance. She thinks that Texas is apparently the most dangerous place in the US (since she is afraid to go outside of Austin), yet there are places that put it to shame, in terms of perceived risk and violence.
Again, Englewood in Chicago. And guess what? It's predominantly black+poor. So I'm not going to sit by and let my skin color alone be the perceived threat to black people. That's as prejudiced as me saying all blacks are lazy undeserving human beings.

like i said, negativity bias. if you have a negative opinion you are more likely to actively hit dislike than a person who has a positive opinion is to hit the like button. so one can safely assume that most people who dont hit like OR dislike and just watch the video either are fine with mica or really dont care. still, even if you dont believe in the negativity bias (which has been proven and accepted by both psychologists and mathematicians who work in statistics), comparing the dislikes to just the likes proves my point. the dislikers are in a vast minority

So glad to hear Monty is posthumously giving you crap. I was going through a lot when a friend showed me "Dead Fantasy". My imagination exploded when I learned Monty did it almost single handedly. I’ve been through another slump and wasn’t paying attention to a lot of my favorite hobbies. Now that I’m out of my slump I just found out this week Monty is gone. I feel compelled to get out and create as he would have wanted.

I like to believe RT and AH do care about the community, and a decent amount of them read the comments. Even if it is the top comments they get the gist of what the TH-cam comments are leaning toward they've referenced comments many times in the past, and made so much enjoyable content for many different audiences. I cant be mad if Mica is in this because i believe in them and trust them as a whole to provide me with good content.

***** I mean being vegan for ethical reasons is one thing. But just being vegan to be healthy is perfectly reasonable. I was about 80 pounds overweight and went vegan to lose it. It worked like a charm because it's pretty hard to overeat on just vegan foods. Also consumption of meat has been linked to lower life expectancy plenty of times. I eat meat now because it tastes so damn good but I respect those who choose not to.
xealen Twas a jest in good fun. But yeah I agree. Although being vegan has it's own nutrition problems that must addressed it can lead to a healthy lifestyle. I would/could never do it but I won't hold it against anyone. On the other hand ethical reasons to go vegan can get blurry quickly simply because of how misinformed they can get. Congrats on losing 80 pounds btw.
