  • NOUGAT CANDY made in the microwave!! An excellent homemade edible Christmas gift for the NOUGAT CANDY lover!! Recipe below...
    NOUGAT CANDY
Line a 13"X9" baking dish with parchment paper. Set aside.
10 cups (16 ounces) mini marshmallows
    2 & 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
2 tablespoons salted or unsalted butter
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract or substitute with orange extract
2 cups Dots candy or substitute with Gumdrops, Jujubes, nuts, or dried fruit
    1. Add marshmallow, white chocolate chips, and butter into a large microwave safe bowl. Microwave on defrost, stirring every 30 seconds, until melted and smooth.
    2. Immediately stir in Dots and vanilla extract. Stir until well blended.
    3. Immediately pour into parchment lined dish.
    4. Place uncovered candy in the refrigerator for one hour. Wrap airtight with plastic wrap. Refrigerate overnight.
    5. Remove from baking pan. Using a chefs knife cut into desirable squares or shapes.
TIPS: Wrap individual NOUGAT pieces in parchment paper to keep candy from sticking together. Store in airtight containers in the refrigerator up to 2 weeks or freeze up to 6 months.

I've made these in the past & plan to make them again this year. The only difference is that your recipe adds vanilla, which I'll have to try. Once I used chocolate chips instead of the white chips & chopped pecans instead of the candy dots. Very mild chocolate flavor & good, too.😢

I just made a batch of this candy and all I can say is, it's STICKY STICKY STICKY!!! and I think the reason they stopped making it is because it's to much work to clean up the machines.
I'm worried my sink drain is going to clog now! They might have even found there are health problems to ones digestive tract eating this candy but it sure taste good!

This was always my favorite candy in my grandmother's candy drawer. They still make them but they are white and fluffy and not like the original at all! I'm looking forward to making these. :-)

It says a dollar for one box of dots when I look up dots but in my cart it is $35.71! The only gumdrops I can get a spice drops which I grew up with but I don't know if the little boy here for Christmas will like them or not.

      @jenniferanne327 2 ปีที่แล้ว

You can get swedish fish or "juju" fish in those little hanging celo-bags of candy that USED to be 2/$1... now they are a little more than that, but for the color and texture of dots, its similar and less spendy, or any gummy candies, really, if you're not super particular, in those bags, or go to the dollar store for the candies... or someplace with bins, like winco.

Thanks for the recipe, made it and it was delicious.
My only gripe, is, like most Americans posting food recipes here, they always use cups as a measure.
I guess that there might be some truth in the theory that Americans can’t handle the metric system.
    Weights would help greatly, thanks.

Walmart wants to charge me $71 for two boxes of dots! I do live in the state with the highest grocery prices in the 48 contiguous states but this is getting ridiculous! It's over $5 for a gallon of milk and the same for a box of cereal and that's great value brands! I can't afford christmas.
