Hurrah! I was right at the first time. This (practice question) might be one of the tough question as per PTE Academic point of view, but I did the write answer (A & C) for the first time. I am very glad. The key to solve this kind of questions is to understand the subject, that's all.

Same experience here but spend 2 days of watching all his free videos. Got Overall: 88, L-86, R-90, S-90, W-89. Jay is the man! Advice to test takers, "test taking skill" is super important, in my opinion even more important than language skill, and this is what Jay had been teaching us; to improve our test taking skill.

Hi Jay, thanks for this method.
But personally, I feel, deep reading the text (~300 words) will only take up to 1:30 - 1:45 mins, in which the reader will understand the context and the intent of the text. The reader then can read the answer options (~5 nos) in just 15 - 25 secs and mark the correct response.
Why I was uncomfortable with the above discussed method is due to the time-box environment that we are put in the exam. Sometimes, the reader does not find the 'key word' or does finds it in multiple locations. With the clock ticking in, h/she might panic and select the wrong response. And now, when the reader is not fully satisfied after selecting the option, due to the clock ticking, h/she goes to the next question with the same mental block. I feel its a cascading effect what the reader encounters it.
But if majority of the viewers are finding this method helpful, they are happy to use it.
I just put forward my experience while solving such questions.

The best way to learn, It is by visualization of text . Or by using the Imagination while reading and listening. Picture your own way every single word and sentence while reading and Learn with Love and Passion.

Option B seems to also be a correct answer.

In fact, it may be true but it is not mentioned in the text.
Tip: Compare the keyword and corresponding text.
Agreed, others dodo relative were also extinct. So "remaining" is the most appropriate word. So, the B, should be the correct answer.
It was really very challenging to solve uh test as the words were so difficult well I have got 1right answer....😋 Thanks for your videos brother

Hi jay, in multiple choice questions , if we select only 1 response , will that be ok (if correct) or its mandate that one needs to select more than 1 response.
Got only 1 answer right in practice section. But the text was really tricky :)

The option E of the first question says dripping tap sound can be eliminated by using soap. If so, option B should also be correct which says scientist have found a work out to fix this issue. Please help me understand this!
Hi Jay, i definitely admire you as a teacher your teaching skills are super... don’t take me wrong I just had two confusions about this MCQ MULTIPLE ANSWERS.. according to me the correct ones were B and C. Since in A the question says killed... while text says extinct... extinct is a natural phenomenon while killing is not .. isn’t it?? Secondly in B the questions says only relative remaining and text says living relative so B is correct according to me. I may b wrong but just thought if you could clarify pls. If possible.

I did that mistake. Thinking it's multiple choice single answer when actually it was multiple choice multiple answers.
Looking foe checkboxes should help if PTE does not change look and feel much.

I have a doubt in the DODO question.
Why is option B incorrect? "The closest living relative of the Dodo is the Nicobar pigeon" and option B conveys the same message right?
Because it mentions only remaining relatives of dodo. But, the paragrahs doesn't say so. There might be relatives other than Nicobar. So, it is not correct.
Question D) The last surviving dodo was killed by sailors in 1662
Transcript text: the bird was hunted by sailors and invasive species, The last widely accepted sighting of dodo was in 1662.

B seems to be correct I think. Nothing contradicts the text!
I scored 90 in listening, 86 in speaking, 81 in writing but 61 in reading.
If my neighbor is reading very loudly, will it affect my reading score?
Say, A and B are the correct answers, what if I choose C and D. Am I going to get -2 ? I am a little confused by what you said about the minimum being 0.
Also, what happens if I simply choose A and move one, assuming that it lets you do that ? Do I still get 0 or get 1 ?
