the first shot of earth looked better than NASA photos. Space Engine deserves much more attention, and i think the creator should start doing some rewards for donating, like a procedurally generated planet named after donators of 5 bucks or more, and for say, 10 dollars, give them a galaxy and the previous reward, and so on.
Space Engine is just a fascination of wonder in your eyes, looking around you is astonishing galaxies, clusters, diffuse nebulas (referred to nebulae) planets, gas giants and stars, even SgT A* is a place to discover into your eyes, the vast majority of time that the game took to make is eye-shattering, spiral galaxy(s) are fascinating through-out our mankind for around 200,000 years in our living.
Omg two people were stupid enough to dislike this, this vid is amazing, the music and the vid itself, and the 4K resolution just adds to the overall quality of this vid great content, keep it up. :)
I watched this video... ...for the first time: Not bad. ...for the second time: Good ...for the third time: Amazing ...for the fourth time: Breathtaking The music is breathtaking too. The best choice for this video! Congratulations!
BRILLIANT. Absolutely brilliant. I've watched this probably 10 times in my home theater and every time it gives me chills. Excellent work my friend. Excellent work.
Love it ! I can't get enough of Space Engine videos like these. Will add this track to my Space Engine playlist to accompany me on my space explorations :)
Really inspirational piece of work. So glad I came across this and it's definitely convinced me to get Space Engine. Like everyone has said, very hypnotic to watch.
TheLoganatorz sorry, there’s actually no black bars, there’s no pixels in those spaces, the footage is rendered in 2X 16:9, there’s no black bars. But thanks!
ah gotcha, TH-cam automatically puts in the black bars in full screen to fill in the space. Still find myself coming back to watch this beautiful work of art :)
This was goooood! If you ever have time/interest, some spaceships inbetween might be beautiful. A nice scale comparison showcasing the grand scale of space.
Netsettler I think showing a spaceship or anything else might detract from the 'vision' and epicness of it all. Unless properly placed, I think it could break the immersion that this provides.
Any plans on making a LONG version with more locations (or combine everything you've done into like a 30 min video at 4k??)?? I may be odd for saying this but Id love to have this playing in my room non-stop as a background mood visual. SO amazing. Great work!
WTF this is gorgeous O.O What texture pack did you use? I have Space Engine installed and running in 1080p 60fps but not with those textures... mother of god (Congrats for the short film)
Thanks :) I just used the ones provided from space engine website, only added textures for our own solar system. I turned LOD (Level of Detail) to 2.0 in graphics settings!
How can I record in 4K with space engine? I would love to do it and turn it in HDR with Premiere and enjoy it on my 4K TV. Thx. I really enjoyed your video.
Denny Hiu Haha i wish, my rig is made up of i7 4770K @ 4.3 Ghz, GTX 780, Recorded with the internal SE recorder, recorded in about 1-2 fps, so each shot you see probably took about a minute to record in real time.
heyyoumen1 that's a relief... I have medium i3 3.4Ghz and AMD R7 240 with SE 0.9.7.4 and it runs really slow and crashes a lot with LOD=20 like you did here. Guess I don't have to upgrade soon
heyyoumen1 You can put SE in windowed mode and tell it to use any resolution you want through the display menu. Though at 4k you'd probably get single digit fps even when not recording. And you'd have to frame shots on a single monitor before moving to 4k since you wouldn't be able to see half the output at that resolution.
Wow amazing, did use any editing software? If so what is it? Also i love the planets u found,do you happen to know what they are called so i could find them?
Hi! thanks for your appreciation :) I used premiere pro to edit. Some of the planets are just the built in bookmarks! and others i just find them randomly!
+heyyoumen1 no seriously this is an amazing video, but i was wondering how you were able to get such stunning images, what are ur graphical settings, also what version are u running? Sorry if this gets annoying but i would really like to create something like this, your work has inspired me to try something like this!
Damn this is awesome! Can you tell me something about your hardware specs because that good looking pictures in 4K are making me speechless so I want to upgrade my PC to have same performance like you when I explore some planets :)
+Jea Zyee thanks :) and yes. but honestly, when I record, my computer still lags like crazy especially when doing detailed mountain shots, i shot in 4K wide, 3840 X 1080, so technically not really 4K at all, its captured in 2X 1080P monitors only. And my specs are i7 4770L @4.3ghz, 16Gb Ram, GTX 780. Hope that helps, but don't expect any computers to record SE videos at 4K in real time.
Tell me please - Has the footage been enhanced with additional injectors like ReShade or SweetFX? This looks so stunning! If yes, care to share the settings?!
Try4Ce Hi Try4Ce, The footage has not been graded or enhanced with anything, It's recorded with uncompresed AVI codec with the internal SE recorder, then converted to Apple ProRes for editing, and that's it!
heyyoumen1 Appreciate the reply. I really wanted to save up for an HTC VIVE and a high end gaming desktop to run it. Do you know if/when it will be possible to see the engine like the quality of the video, in VR?
Hey, thanks man :) this is done in Space Engine, it's a free "game" / explorer program, u can download it for free (the developer also takes donations ) and u can explore the universe!
***** I'm running on a i7 4770K with a Nvidia GTX 780! this program is totally great for educational purpose! If you're wondering if u can show this video as an intro for lectures?, for sure! +Lix CSGO Hi! you don't have to disable the HUD, i used the internal recorder that comes within Space Engine, i believe the shortcut key is F9, they have the keys/functions listed on their website! it does become quite laggy while recording, i use the uncompressed codec in an AVI wrapper, then editing done in Pro Res 422!
I have an intel core i7 4790k @ 4 gHz and a gtx 980ti, i think that should be more than enough to run this and record correct? I am planning on making my own short film :)
umm, maybe, i have a i7 4770K @4.3 ghz and gtx 780, when i record at 1080P i think it sometimes drops to about like 20-30 fps, but thats fine, but at 4K (3840 X 1080) i get like 3-5 fps sometimes, but thats just during recording, your footage will still be smooth as butter at 24P!
think of it as "rendering" the program renders it frame by frame, so it only displays 1-2 fps (if your computer isn't that fast) but it records to the file, which is a 24fps or whatever u set at. if that makes sense
+heyyoumen1 You mean record the motion? Or just set things in motions as the frames go on? Also can you please tell which setting you use in the recording panel?
heyyoumen1 The website confuses me. Do you have to install the intermediat texture sizes, or can you go straight for the size you want? Also, how do you get those really smooth dolly shots?
as someone with a 4k monitor and as someone who loves space engine: thank you so much for this
This software is developed by one person! Hats off to him🎩
Anyone remember back in 2008 when a 720p res video was jaw-dropping and mind-blowing? XD 7 times smaller file size haha
This. This is art.
MicrowaveFork Right? Every time I watch this I get the chills and my eyes well up. Its friggin amazing.

Love that song Starwave. I listen to it a few times a week. Oblivion was a pretty decent movie as well.
A year ago i commented "Beautiful". I am still just as amazed.
I always get emotional when I watch this
me too
this really reminds me of the time i got lost in space...
dude i get the chills everytime... every-time !!!
this is glorious
I use this video whenever telling someone about space engine. Words cannot do this software justice, but this video can! :D
Damn, Oblivion's soundtrack is just ideal for any space video :D
Probably the best SpaceEngine vid I have seen.
Omg two people were stupid enough to dislike this, this vid is amazing, the music and the vid itself, and the 4K resolution just adds to the overall quality of this vid great content, keep it up. :)
astoundingly beautiful

I own CHG90 32:9. Thanks for great video like this. Full my screen without the need of chrome extension to stretch. Hope you bring more 32:9 video.
BRILLIANT. Absolutely brilliant. I've watched this probably 10 times in my home theater and every time it gives me chills. Excellent work my friend. Excellent work.

I can't get enough of Space Engine videos like these.
Will add this track to my Space Engine playlist to accompany me on my space explorations :)
can you share your space engine playlist ?
i realize I'm kinda off topic but do anybody know of a good place to watch new movies online ?

i think im crying.

Really inspirational piece of work. So glad I came across this and it's definitely convinced me to get Space Engine. Like everyone has said, very hypnotic to watch.
Beautiful , so beautiful
I don't know why but it makes me cry. :)
I applaud you good sir. This is a work of art.
+Ethan Payne thank you :)
Absolutely awesome!
Thank you so much for this!
By far your best I think because of the track! Good job.
I have no words.
Yes you have.
You are fucking awesome!!!!!!!! Fucking lovely M83, i fckng love you mannnnnnn!!!!111fckfckfck
i wish every video was like this for my 49 inch ultra wide monitor
This is epic with the music love it :)
This looks amazing in LCHG90 samsung monitor
So sick. Good work man
Soundtrack from Oblivion? Great video mate!
thanks a lot, see it is the best theraphy for our minds! Space is our origin!
Life gave us a gift.... life..... and adventure.
Can't stand M83 but Space Engine lends itself to pretty much any music that works for you, that's for sure. One of my favourite programs, nice work.
Tip: the big black bars are free real estate...
Other than that, this is gold!
Only if my shitty ass graphics card could let me see this in 4k. I'll have a better one soon enough, I hope.
This was goooood!

Netsettler I think showing a spaceship or anything else might detract from the 'vision' and epicness of it all. Unless properly placed, I think it could break the immersion that this provides.
This was 0.993?? Imagine 4k on space engine 0.990 it would look AMAZING!
this is incredible thank you so much
Awesome!
Beautiful
omg this is wonderful
heh, the half 4k res fits my dual 1080p monitors completely and it looks phenomenal with it being this wide!
perfect! I recorded this in dual 1080P monitor haha
O.o watch this +frontier developments
I love this video so much
Wonderfully done! The dev should use this video to really show off how amazing Space Engine really is. Beautiful work brother! Got any others?
+thekingjackass thanks :) yeah! i made 2 other ones, check them out on my channel!
So beautiful nice job :D
Thank's Dude.. i'll use your video for my project,,,
madness!
Love it!
Edit: Note that the footage is way too wide. Make the aspect ratio either 21:9 or 18:9.

M83 - Starwaves
How did you get this 'lag'-less shot? what is your spec ? and what it is made of ? unobtainium ?
Denny Hiu Haha i wish, my rig is made up of i7 4770K @ 4.3 Ghz, GTX 780, Recorded with the internal SE recorder, recorded in about 1-2 fps, so each shot you see probably took about a minute to record in real time.

Denny Hiu Well, when I'm not recording, i can run it at 60 fps most of the time at 1080P, but the terrain does take some time to load at LOD=2
ouch, That break my heart again and I blame my AMD card on this!
Denny Hiu dude, DON'T run on LOD 2! use 0, or even lower. The only thing that can handle lod 2 with a decent framerate is a quantum supercomputer.
Also you probably already know this but this is only half 4k. True 4k is 3840 X 2160 and is 4 X 1080p
Todarac Yes sir! I do not own a 4K monitor so this is the best i can get, although getting close to "cinematic" aspect ratio is kinda nice!
heyyoumen1 You can put SE in windowed mode and tell it to use any resolution you want through the display menu. Though at 4k you'd probably get single digit fps even when not recording. And you'd have to frame shots on a single monitor before moving to 4k since you wouldn't be able to see half the output at that resolution.
Yes sir! thats a great idea, but yeah, it would be a pain to frame the shots then resize it again haha
Wow amazing, did use any editing software? If so what is it? Also i love the planets u found,do you happen to know what they are called so i could find them?

Hello can I run this EPIC simulator with medium/low settings at 60 fps with a GT 540M with 2GB of Vram? Really good work
+Vins90 I think you can! give it a shot, its free!
So this is actual in game footage, and what you'd see in VR? If so, I need this in my life so damn bad.
I've actually tried this in VR, not as impressive in my opinion, because the resolution isn't high enough yet, hard to see tiny stars
heyyoumen1 Appreciate the reply. I really wanted to save up for an HTC VIVE and a high end gaming desktop to run it. Do you know if/when it will be possible to see the engine like the quality of the video, in VR?
Is everything maxed here? This is beautiful, mind supplying your settings so I can enjoy it too :3
P4nda Yes! everything is maxed, LOD at 2 with Anamorphic lens flares!
what the hell did you do in order to make the game look this amazing??
Hi, this is such a great video with huge potential. One question, what software(s) was used to design this?
Hey, thanks man :) this is done in Space Engine, it's a free "game" / explorer program, u can download it for free (the developer also takes donations ) and u can explore the universe!
+heyyoumen1 thank you! I've had a look, I'm guessing there is no Mac version?
+JH Benjamin no there isn't, you can install bootcamp to run Windows
+heyyoumen1 what software did you use to record the footage?
Hi, i just used the internal recording that comes with Space Engine
Did you install the higher resolution texture packs for earth?
+Sam Falk Yes !
How. I downloaded them but now I'm stuck. I read the instructions but there confusing. There in the right folder but nothing seems to change
Great video! How do you get it all so detailed when you go to a planet??
+Tom - 路上生活 thanks buddy! I just set the LOD (Level of Detail) to 2 inside the graphics settings!
+heyyoumen1 thanks! I have that too, but it doesn't look as crisp. maybe it's the resolution
could be, also note that some planets doesn't generate terrains and mountains, just plain textures
would using the uhd addon make the game lag more ?
Hi! its not an add-on, its just running the Game at 4K Resolution, but that definitely lags more
what an amazing video mate !
can you list the planets ?
thx
sorry, I don't have the planets location saved :(
StarWaves
Wow! How long did it take you to make this all?

heyyoumen1 You did a great job :). Looked great on my 2k phone. I wish I would have a 4k monitor...
Molested Fish Thanks man! I wish i have a 4K monitor too! someday, someday

May I ask how did you disable the hud? What is the console command? I plan on making one of these myself. :)
also, would you mind giving me tips?
+Lix CSGO Hi! you don't have to disable the HUD, i used the internal recorder that comes within Space Engine, i believe the shortcut key is F9, they have the keys/functions listed on their website! it does become quite laggy while recording, i use the uncompressed codec in an AVI wrapper, then editing done in Pro Res 422!
