  • Spend the day with me exploring the Beyoğlu neighborhood on the European side of Istanbul. It's a great area to stay if you want to be near Galata Tower, bars, antiques shops, and lots of rooftop eateries with Bosphorus views.
First we'll walk around Taksim Square, and even catch one of the calls for prayer.
If this is your first time hearing about this area, basically, it's considered the heart of modern Istanbul, with a major tourist and leisure district famed for its restaurants, shops, and hotels.
Next we'll take a scroll along Istiklal Caddesi.
It's the city’s main pedestrian boulevard, lined with 19th-century buildings housing international shopping chains, movie theaters, and cafes.
After that, come with me to glimpse Istanbul's famous Galata Tower. I'll give you tips on how to visit, and show you the views from the top.
No trip to Istanbul is complete without grabbing dinner at one of my favorite Thai spots, Çok Çok Thai Restaurant.
I'm sure some people are wondering why I'd chose this over the local cuisine (which is delicious).
The answer is that the last two times I've been in Istanbul I've been on the verge of getting sick, or getting over being sick.
Truthfully, one of the hardest things about solo travel is being sick on the road. This spot, with it's amazing super spicy Tom Yum soup and Pad Thai, quickly became my go-to comfort food.
And finally, no trip to Istanbul would be complete without a little boat ride across the Bosphorus.

Turkiye is unique in having two cultures Middle Eastern and Western coexist. You seem very happy there. Thanks.

@@allytravels Turkish people are culturally naturally polite society and very nice hospitable to visitors, same as Morocco. My mom 92' lives in Turkey, on the beachfront in Mersin.
