Because they will still have people working in them, and quite a few people at these meets lack a lot of driving skill and seem to crash into things a lot. If they want to all meet up, actually hire a damn venue.
Antisocial behaviour, dangerous driving, excessive noise. The list goes on. Police wouldn't be called of people parked up and checked out each other's cars and stood around chatting. Unfortunately everyone wants to show off. Looks at me doing a burnout. Listen to my pops and bangs map. Ooh look, flames. Let's do a skid. Revvy revvy rev rev. There wouldn’t be a night on the weekend where I wouldn’t get stopped. Police had a lot more traffic cars on the road and many unmarked vehicles. All I can say is be careful and make sure all your tyres are in good shape.

Might surprise you to learn that officers are paid, whether they sit in the nick all night doing nothing and get no calls for service, or whether they are out actively patrolling. As a UK taxpayer and a serving officer in a massive force in the UK, I know which I'd rather be doing and it certainly doesn't involve sitting around.
@@thefiestaguy8831 as a regular guy I understand that you don't just decide what you want to do as an officer. Surely personal bias can play a part in selecting who to pull over, but these officers aren't following all these cars around because they decided the want to... there were obviously many public complaints about the meets and that has gotten the attention of someone higher up who put officers on the task to keep order. Don't make a ton of noise and anger the public and the police won't be there, it's that easy. Even the stupid things like purposely parking in all the EV chargers, or completely filling a service station car park make the car scene look SO bad, add tons of noise and it's hard to justify why anyone would like it. If everyone is respectful no one cares about meets.
Oh my goodness. Someone with common sense. I actually applaud you, and no I'm not being sarcastic. I'm constantly seeing stupid comments about "Nothing else to do" or "Not going to burglaries but can stop a boy racer".... Sure, a boy racer who would rather spend 300 quid on an exhaust kit or a stupid spoiler than putting some new tyres on his car, and would rather run around on near bald or defective tyres. These "car meet" people seem to forget that the public places they turn up on are actually privately owned land, and as such if the landowners want them to leave, rightly so they should. They seem to act as if they have some god given right to turn up and take over a whole car park so they can make stupid pops and bangs and stand around gawping at each other's (mostly financed) "whips". I like cars. I drive a 3 litre BMW saloon car with 313 bhp and 0-60 in 4.6 seconds... Difference is I don't go and sit in a car park and rev my engine to annoy people or "show off". I haven't fitted daft "DIRTEE SOUTH" car club stickers on the back window, or put purple alloys and a loud exhaust on it. It would literally be like me deciding I want to invite all my mates to park their cars on my neighbour's drive taking up all the space just so we can stand around revving engines, chatting about them and doing stupid burnouts around a car park full of people. SOME of the people who go to car meets can actually control a car properly, most can't, no forward planning or observation. They'll drift out of a car meet straight into the path of an oncoming car with priority or drift around a roundabout, lose it and nearly run over a bystander... Oh, and for what it's worth - where I serve, we deploy to EVERY burglary if the homeowner wants us to attend. Drawing attention to yourself in front of the police is a good way to get stopped - exactly as the R32 and found out. More to the point they don't need a reason to stop a technically propelled vehicle, and I myself despite being in the job have been stopped around 10 times in the last few years alone, having never actually done anything wrong. Mostly thanks to the shift pattern I work meaning I drive home late at night (23:30-00:00) and sometimes finishing work at 3AM. @@volvo09
