My biggest fear of recurring revenue is the recurring commitment. With healthy deadline management (no OT), it's kind of nice to lack commitments the rest of the year. Having monthly deliverables feels like committing to regular "work." So where's the sweet spot of recurring revenue without recurring commitment stress?

Right? Some of our partners really do barely work in the summer. And it makes the clients and the staff miserable. Admins are constantly fielding angry calls and emails trying to come up with another excuse why a client can’t get their question answered. And staff are stressed because the partners manage the workflow and they are supposed to be putting in the hours but don’t have work to do. When you try to get these partners to understand, they say, I worked so hard! I deserve this! And they are completely oblivious to just how badly they’re torpedoing staff morale and client satisfaction. But they put the years into this exact system and they don’t want to change it. It remains to be seen whether the younger partners who want something different will win the battle or split. I would be extremely slow to enter a partnership for this reason. It severely limits your options while simultaneously giving those who don’t really want to get after it a complete feeling of safety. They don’t have to change. They’re a partner!

Jason this is the best video of 2024. I hope every person takes away something to implement. These all will change lives.

Super validating! Been listening to you since I started researching starting a firm in December 22.
I'd give myself pretty good scores on those items so feels like im listening and learning!
Lowest score on 5 but I know what the issues are and am building the structure so it will be addressed before too long

    Love the find your why!
Building my firm from base up.
I tell everyone that interviews that interviews with us, "its my intention this will be the hardest thing you ever do. And if it isn't, I will have failed you".
In a short period of time well have 10 people with an output of 100 because of this mentality
Oh and chatGPT... only reason it'll work is because of ChatGPT 😂😂
