- Check out our latest video exploring Miri's Hai Long Si temple! Four Local Guides, three days of exploration... it's no big surprise that we ended up at this stunning temple!
Strangely located in a residential area, the Hai Long Si temple boasts 1800 dragons scattered around the compound from dragons carved into pillars, dragons on roofs, dragons printed onto fabric, dragons painted on the walls.. you get point, they are everywhere!
As such, it was just super fun exploring and trying to photograph as many dragons as we could. Apparently, the cost for this temple came at a staggering RM16 million and counting and when we were there, there were some maintenance work going on so we couldn't capture the full splendour and colour of the massive dragons that greeted us at the main entrance.
Nonetheless, I hope the video manages to capture the essence of the place... enough to entice you to go put Miri on your next travel destination! As always, Google Maps is one of the best tools out there to help you plan out your journey, bookmark places of interest and to find out what others in the area are recommending!
Oh, and midway recording some videos at this temple, I 'discovered' (I knew about it but never gave it much thought) Cinematic Pan on my Pixel 6 Pro phone! So some of the clips are so much smoother!!! Hurrah!!

Also, do check out this blog post by a fellow Local Guide, Emily, from Perak:

Apparently, the Imperial Seal is moving from Kuala Kangsar to Miri this year on the 25th Sept 2022 and the upkeep that you see in the video is most likely to get the temple ready for this important event!! Read the blog above to find out more! Thanks!!
nice! That's a beautiful video Adrian! :) Now I really need to get back on my editing chair.
Thanks.. I still have quite a few more videos to do but just don't have the time. Sigh.
