- One of the crazier glitches in Super Mario Maker 2. Nintendo keeps trying to patch it, but we keep finding new methods to do it. And this video shows how to do it in the newest (2.0.0) Version of the game! Funfact: This was found around 30 minutes after the update happened.

It's basically croudsourcing.
Thousands of brains working on something that dozens were.
They likely know about it, but it's not a high priority to fix since you can't upload levels that use this anyways. There's not enough time in the world to fix every bug (this goes for all software, not just mario maker)

I love this setup because there isn’t anything inherently glitchy about the setup itself, it’s just enough overlapping items. If they want to patch this out, Nintendo will have to remove the entire black hole glitch, not just the setup.
Yep. This doesn't require any glitches. If Nintendo wants to patch this, they'd need to change the way some Items overlap. Which would suck for normal level creators probably

The reason that this or any other black hole setup works is that you need to overlap around 36 items in one spot. Because pokeys dangle from tracks, this setup exists now.

"so you just storm Area 51 twice, then place two tracks, then summon a clown car at 3am, then put it in a pipe, which should be red to represent the demons, then hit Play, hit Make, beat Super Mario Odyssey 4 times, then die as Atlas after hugging P-body, then avoid Coronavirus, be #1 in Tetris, poke Pikachu's cheeks a cheeky amount of times, then play a Black Midi on the piano, then do a jitter click, then do the Mario, place the Command Block, play both Portal games on PC (there should be Portal 3, not Half-Life 3 in my opinion) and finally place 100 Blocks, and you're done!"

History of the black hole:
One day, a person named Psycrow was fiddling with lava bubbles, and saw something strange happen. It allowed items to think they’re on tracks. After finding out that items on tracks can overlap, he thought of what would happen if you were to overlap a lot. After that, they found the most powerful glitch. And this was just the beginning.
Nintendo, seeing this glitch, thought: “Hey, this might crash a Wii-U. Let’s patch it out.”
People who played with the glitch were saddened. Psycrow, understandably, did something.
“Hey! You can still download a course with one of these black holes!” And so they did.
Then, super mario maker 2 came right around the corner. Nintendo disallowed downloading. “The black hole glitch, if hacked in, can spread without hacking for the rest of the lifespan of smm2! We should disallow that.”
But then, somebody found out that item limits don’t work properly, and it once again, dislocated items kn tracks. The moment of truth. Does overlapping still cause a black hole? YES! The return of the black hole glitch.
Hahaha, but obviously you can’t do it in 3d world, right? Wrong. Bloopers work perfectly. Use pipes.
Nintendo, along with making icicles non-global ground, patched that. “Don’t crash. Don’t overlap. DELETE”
And then came along track limit exploitation, along with silipipes, but we’re talking about black holes. Dislocation happens again. More black holes for everyone!
And importing tracks to 3d world, allowing black holes there too!
Then came the big update. “They want more stuff, we’ll get the black hole glitch patched in return.”
Thinking, “what will we do? Nintendo patched out all the limits!” “Remember how it works. You put a fuckton of items in one spot. We have pokeys now.”
Then came the genius idea of mashing together everything and anything we had, and we had enough to make it happen. We’re not fully in the safe yet, we want to maximize the possible area of glitchiness. Luckily, we could mash together lots of ground blocks, then exploit tracks, and boom, we have ourselves a dislocated thwomp. Here it comes!
As for the 3d world crew, Nintendo thought they patched out that dastardly export. No, they just made it wayyyyyyyy easier.

It's so weird since the setup isnt even a glitch to begin with like going over the entity limit or something like that. It's just overlapping a lot of stuff while staying in the game's limitation.

Nintendo literally can’t patch this, because it isn’t even a glitch, it’s the game itself allowing this to work, no exploits needed. They’d have to legitimately re-write the code for the *_entire_* game just to patch it.

...ok now that that step is complete you should have unlocked Luigi in super Mario 64 now all you have to do is power off your switch completely and go collect 69 stars with Luigi now Sonic should be unlocked in melee go play his adventure mode then turn you switch back on and place down some more tracks right here now for the next step...

How to make a black hole in version 3.0:
First, place down 10^80 tracks. Then, put an egg inside your mouth while you use the centrifugal force to jumble the cartridge around. Next, place down 4 one-ways. Play it. A coin will fall. Do not collect the coin, but go back in the editor. Drag the coin to the game changer. Change it to kirby dream land. The one ways will disappear. Press undo. The theme will change to 3d world instead of what you did. Next, close the game. Open baba is you, and make a level that consists of a single wall, and a keke. The wall is you, and the keke has to be pull. Pull the keke 3 spaces. Go back to mario maker 2. If you get the link start, you can continue. So next, you go to the level. Notice that it is not the level you made. Multiselect the starting space. You will see a track. Reset, place a big mushroom, then undo twice. The track and the big mushroom will be on each other. Move the mushroom away from the track. Put it into a clown car. Copy the clown car over and over. Drag one of the clown cars away. Put a key inside. Erase the clown car. Undo twice, place a big mushroom, undo twice. Now put a big thwomp on the track and close the game. Turn off your switch, and put it on the dock. Now you’re going to mess with the tv. Place in a pro controller, but fiddle it out partially. Press B, B, A, B, Up, then hold the joystick right. If you did this correctly, the switch is now blue. Now go back to mario maker 2, still having the pro controller plugged in, and remove the big thwomp, and place it into the clown car. Hold the thwomp, and remove the pro controller. Press undo. The thwomp thinks it’s in a track. Now, you need to bypass the 34 limit. To do that, go to the sub-area, copy, turn off the switch, set the date to 15 days after, repeat. At 24, open luigi’s mansion 3 and hold up for 5 seconds. Close it. Go back to mario maker 2. Then at 34, the glitch gets harder. Eat a calculator, then spit the battery at the switch. If you are a male, this will work. The game will crash. Post a picture on twitter, with the caption Œm ŒP A. Wait for a solar eclipse, and right when the switch is about to alert you, copy. Boom. 35 big thwomps.

Make sure it has a clear condition.

can the objects sticking halfway out of a pipe be box-group selected separately from the pipe?
it can probably be any object in a pipe in that case
the reason its likely set up with clown cars is because it was probably found by someone trying to make a terrible / laggy level with as many overlaps as possible
