  • A truly individualistic bike, designed to move your soul more than your body - we had a fine time ranging around Johannesburg on this 1200cc specimen of 'retro' from Triumph! Cameras: Kay Mavuso & Dave Kroukamp || Producer: Tyson McKeown || Editing: Burley Boys || Presenter: Nadim Sadek. Thanks to Triumph Johannesburg for their generous assistance, and to Drift Innovation driftinnovatio...

    Great review! I just got one and your bang-on about this bike. I had to give up on power and speed as I’ve got older but this bike is like a dream. You just feel good everytime you sit on it!

      it's definitely more than just a functional ride - it gives you a sense of fun and occasion, too.

    Another fantastic episode. I really enjoy these reviews. Triumph is doing so well in South Africa amid the declining sales many other makes are facing.

    Love the angles you shoot from. So good to get something more than helmetcams!

    The guys in that dealership are great. Lots of time for you and some of them are crazy racers.

    Didn’t realise Triumph has that big of a range. Never been a fan of the Speed Triples but I can see how this works for them. It looks like something out of an old film!

      Weird range, we find, but this one has really hit the mark

    Is that an old Harley Fat Bob chasing you? Now there’s a bike!

    • @BossBikesClub
      @BossBikesClub  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It is - the Boss Bikes chase bike! it's been in a few episodes so far - Fat Bob and Fireblade in Durban, too!

    The difference between your typical American bobber and this one is the pedal positions. The British one still has you sitting up, old-style.

    • @BossBikesClub
      @BossBikesClub  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      it's actually quite an important difference, as you really do feel different riding this, compared to a Scout

    Looks like a World War bike - something you’d see in a film.

    Sports bikes are really just for a single rider too so I guess this makes sense…taking yourself off for a bit of ‘me time’

    Is it safe to ride around Jo’burg like this? You hear about all the hijackings. Me and a friend want to go on a tour around the country but we think its probably too dangerous?

    • @BossBikesClub
      @BossBikesClub  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      well, you can't be complacent and we had some Jo'burgers keeping an eye out for us - be safe.

    awesome review.
    the sound at the end is really bad though.

    I tried the Street Twin and it’s brakes were terrible. Looks like the same set up here so can you get the black edition with the twin discs in this green colour?

    • @BossBikesClub
      @BossBikesClub  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      they're terrible if you ride it like a sports bike, ok if you just pootle around. We're all in favour of every bike having the best bikes it can, all the same!

    That seat look great but does it carry you for long? It seems very thin.

    • @BossBikesClub
      @BossBikesClub  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      this isn't a bike for long tours, so the seat comfort doesn't matter that much, and a couple of hours in it were fine - it's more the whack you can get from the suspension that bothered us!

  • @freshink2171
    @freshink2171 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    why does the wind pressure knock you backwards on this one? Isn’t it the same as any naked bike?

    • @BossBikesClub
      @BossBikesClub  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      we think it must be the seating position and where the pedals are...it's really a much stronger effect than on a normal naked, where we usually sit leaning forward a bit

    They’re better than American bobbers because they’ve got the ground clearance. There may not be much poke in that engine but dynamically it’s a much better bike.

    • @BossBikesClub
      @BossBikesClub  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      True - this is a surprisingly nimble and fun bike. The Indian Scout is the same, mind you!

    I think bobbers have to be Harleys. It’s an American thing. Don’t know why Triumph wants to get into this game. BMW are doing it too making that R18 cruiser.

    • @BossBikesClub
      @BossBikesClub  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      everyone's at everything now...and in a way you're right, but the British did have similar bikes decades ago, so this is more of a revival
