Hey there! My zoom does not go further than 50mm and the little grey part you've taken out at 3.57min (like a T shaped bracket with two holes in the middle and two little legs, it's just above your lens in the frame) when it's in place it controls the zoom ring and does not let me twist further past 50mm.. Any idea how I can fix this? Otherwise the autofocus works great and everything is in good condition. Many thanks xx

Hi. At 7:25 you get yourself at your left hand a piece with somes lenses inside... and then, at 7:36, the lenses are already separated on the "table", inside the metal ring. How did you separated them? Weren't they glued or somthing? Tks

Please excuse me for delay, my iMac 24 inch has been damaged for a month now. I have used my iPad for recording the dissecting process, some time I forgot to press recording button. I never expected that somebody could see my videos.
When a big service company services the lenses many a time such tricky parts are replaced, because original manufacturer sealed such elements to maintain the positions of elements for accurecy purposes.
When ever a lens is opened the focus and vignetting adjusted position bound to get disturbed unless you have proper bench to realign such adjustments and very few do that process with keen interest of their job.
      Wish you the best
      With regards

Vinu R So your answer to me is, let the fungus stay where they are and don't try to separate the lens because I wont be able to align them properly after, am I correct? Seems reasonable. Thank you much for your response. As to your videos, we are 7 billion people in this world... The probability of someone needing to know how to dismantle a nikon lens is not that low... Being so I say keep up with the good work. =)
