- When the Altantic Ocean meets the Caribbean Sea is creates a THRILLING FIRST SAIL for us. We'd forgotten how crazily big those waves can be between the islands.
Enjoy the video and don't forget to leave us a like and comment, The Cordelians Steve, Annette & Gus 🥰⛵🐾

Watch our liveaboard life and what it's really like to live full-time on a 46ft Venus Ketch. We sail from anchorage to anchorage, country to country living off-grid most of the time.
We are a real genuine couple that are not out to impress, we are who we are and enjoy life to the full.
Follow us each Friday to find out where we are and what we’ve been up to.
Our videos are no more than 2 weeks behind real time.
We intend to SAIL AS FAR AS WE CAN FOR AS LONG AS WE CAN.
Thanks for watching, The Cordelians Steve, Annette & Gus 🥰 ⛵️ 🐾

H Crazies, love yas, bloody Awesome seeing Cordelia dancing again. Well boys and girls were all getting older and the waves are getting bigger.😁🤣💜💙Big hugs for Gus. It's a cockroach, if there's one there's a hundred. 😲and there nuclear resistant.
Thank you, we are super chuffed to be out proper sailing again. Cordelia is a great boat and although those waves were big, she handles very well.
As for the roach, I'm keeping my eyes peeled for any more and have been told to get some boric acid that readily available in the Caribbean.
Gus sends is woofy love and so do we xx 🥰⛵🐾 xx
So great to see Cordelia and crew doing their thing…. Sailing!
All the best Richard❤
Thanks Richard, super pleased you're still enjoying the videos. Sending good wishes & love 🥰⛵🐾
You showed the waves really nicely 🙌🥰🌊
Thank you, not always easy to show how big and wild waves can be. Thanks for watching 🥰⛵🐾
Oh that brings back memories of sailing between the islands. Isle de Saintes was one of my favourites. A very unique place.
Isle de Saintes are stunning and great for generating power with the wind we had lol. Really hoping that we're still here when you eventually cross xx 🥰⛵🐾
Gus has you so well trained. 🤣😅
He does, not just about the swimming either lol 🥰⛵🐾
Lovely video. I’m sure we’ll have the same learning curve when we finally get back out there. Love and miss you all.❤😊
Thanks Micheal and Leontien. Yes, it was quite the eye opener, but like MMD, we have a strong boat so felt safe enough. Like us, you'll be fine when once you get out there. Love and miss you both too ❤️🥰 xx
Love this episode!!!!!
@@thrive.offgrid Thank you Sarah, really appreciate you watching & commenting 😊. Slowly heading north, you may see us yet in your back yard 🤣🤣
It’s called hangry Steve when you get arsey because your hungry 🤣🤣 I’m not very nice when hangry 🤦♀️🤣. Looked like some big waves there. When you next home we will take you to see Newtown. Love and miss you all xx
He's always telling me he's hangry, which means he spends a lot of time not being very nice lol. Those waves were a lot bigger than on the video, certainly nothing I've seen sailing down to Newtown hahaha! xx 🥰⛵🐾
@ I’m quite happy with what we get down here 🤣🤣. Xx
@sailingsolice 🤣🤣🤣🤣
welcome back to sailing
Cheers, its great to be back 🥰⛵🐾
Glad to see you moving again! ❤
We are so glad to be back on the water too! Not going to make PR though on Cordelia, as we need a different visa for US islands. Will have to make that next year, which is a shame as I really hoping to bump into you all 🥰⛵🐾.
Great ti see yall out sailing!! Great vid as always.
Hate we been missing the vids, not alot of service here
Hey, we understand. We are under similar circumstances and due to battery issues are having to be careful what we use. Good to see you've made the decision to keep on with this sailing life, super excited 🥰⛵🐾
Why is it you always get huge seas and tough sails at the beginning of your season! 🤪 xxx
Haha! Always the same in the Caribbean between the islands. Good to be back though xx 🥰⛵🐾
giving a cockroach acupuncture is something Ive not seen or heard of before. something for a buffet maybe cock roach on sticks. Great to see you sailing again, always takes a while to get back in the flow after time off.
It really was an eye opener sailing between the islands, but we were happy to be in Cordelia, she's a good solid boat. As was the cockroach. I actually ended up using spray Oven Cleaner to kill it, but I didn't want to show that just in case people thought I was being really cruel, but it would not die even with the cocktail sticks lol xx
@ perhaps your hunter gatherer skills need a little fine tuning as you can’t eat your kill if it’s covered in oven cleaner.
@ianfirth-clark5975 🤣🤣🤣 I'm quite happy to leave that kind of hunters catch to the fish to devour lol
Cheers guys! Yeah that was a big cockroach.. horrible bloody things..
Thanks for the support. It was a big one, the MOST revolting creature on this planet lol 🥰⛵🐾
How the fudge did that monster get in there
I have absolutely no idea and now just keeping my fingers crossed it was a one-off, but I'm told very unlikely eeeeeek!! 🥰⛵🐾
Not a vampire cockroach by the amount of stakes you plunged through it's heart and how strange to find a flying fish on your boat...that smells fishy. The crossing did look a bit character building but, as you said, Cordelia looks after you. Enjoy Guadeloupe
That roach was huge and Steve didn't want to go anywhere near it lol.
The passage was a bit hair raising, but being in Cordelia made it feel good. She's a great boat for sailing in those conditions.
Oh and I wasn't aware that fish needed to smell like fish to be fish haha! xx
