I definitely say that is a heat shield as my mum's bmw has a heat shield when I opened the bonnet up so literally the same thing. I wouldn't remove that mate but it's your call as its your car. Hope it doesn't do anything other than improve the sound inside the car 😎🤙🏻 btw your car is just awesome bro.

U should keep easy geez just need to get confident in your car rev it out a bit more uno cause u can make 250 but u need to rev it out to get 250 plus them Clios arnt turbo so u have to proper rev it out to get somewhere plus they have better tires stock ,poly bushes aswell but u and that Clio would be bloody close stock with two drivers launching em but uno don't wanna die

That would’ve been the better choice but that’s my opinion.
My scirocco 1.4tsi 160 (remapped to 200bhp) had a speed limiter or something on it. Get yours remapped and get them to take it off then you won’t have any issues when you get to higher revs. Might be able to do it through Cartista. Link me man I’ll give you a run for your money 😎
I wouldn't remove the heat shield, it does hold up the noise, but it helps absorb heat. If you remove it, the engine bay will get slightly hotter and the bonnet's paint may degrade over time. It shouldn't be a problem, just something to keep in mind.
The only thing I would say is the padding or soundproofing does reduce heat transfer to the bonnet panel, which in turn protects the clear lacquer from 'bubbling' (if that is the technical term). I see some peeps in the comments mentioning heat shielding, could be worth looking into?

stage 1 remap will transform the car. The car is mapped so softly so thats why theres no torque past 4.5k. Not helped by your induction kit on a standard map.

I'm with admiral and they allow pretty much any mods and just charge a £9.50 admin charge when you declare it. So you could fully mod your car for £9.50...mad!

I took my padding off my fiesta (most cars have it) and never had a issue and it makes it sound a lot better so glad he listened and took it off

the insulation under the bonnet also stops heat to stop the paint from being damaged
It was a Mk 3 Renault Clio RS (facelift) with a 2L VVT (Variable Valve Timing) non turbo engine in it. 197bhp stock with 0-60 @ 6.9 secinds (13:00)
It was a 197 which isn't the facelift model, that's the 200.

If you ever decide to tune it stage1 /stage2 this will give you more power after 5000rpm
Get the HKS blow off valve, its fkin loud and ur gonna love it. Also a full exhaust with downpipe. Dont forget to get a tune later on.
