thank you for all the great information, i learn alot from your channel.
i have several kinds of medaka's now, but 2 of them are mine favorite. The daruma saphire & 3trico color/saphire. Both of them has such a beautyfull shine.

I had no idea breeding fancy medaka was such a new thing, somehow I thought it must have been going on a long time. It does show the potential for the species to become even more beautiful as time goes on, but I admit the look of a natural fish shape with enhanced sparkle and color is my favorite. The older varieties from several years ago are still 'rare' here as you know and cost quite a lot. Last week I had two new batches of eggs arrive by mail recently and so far have five new fry, they are also older varieties.
