The install of the rack itself was only difficult once you get to the second set of bolts. The rack is so well built it produces a super tight fit. Which is what I have come to expect from MESO Customs. The hex rack looks great in place and really adds some storage space in the cab. For my set up, I used lockable AR wall mounts with the ability to lock on both sides, so the rifles can point in the same direction.
I want to make it absolutely clear that I will not be driving around everyday with ARs attached to the rack. I took this mod on as a challenge to see if I could make it work and thought it would be a fun install. Does it look cool, sure. Are they easy to grab from the driver seat, hell no. Not a practical set up if you need the rifles quickly.

I used pieces of mending plate from tractor supply covered in heat shrink to act as a washer for top and bottom gives a lot of flexibility without having to drill through the rack

I think plastic spacers/washers with a rubber washer for vibration would work well, to drop the mounts down a little lower. And longer bolts to compensate for the length. Absolutely love this! Cheers.

Have you figured out a way to safely secure them? IE. Put a lock on them to prevent theft? I'm wanting something like that for my f150. But would feel safer with a lockable device. Looks great!!!

What do you think weight wise you’d want to put on the rack? I bought the Meso one because of the thick aluminum. Not worried about the rack. More the connection points.

I think rifles will be fine. Anything to large, bulky or heavy won’t fit.
I like the set up you have there. I put in a sunroof rack on mine, and didn't even do half of what you did to your's. Prob the only thing I did more than you is use "colorful sentence enhancers" lol.

Random mumbling. Signs of a great mechanic. Means we are always thinking. How do the ar’s fit when mounted that way, I originally ordered one from og fab and never used. Just to big for and nil clean, with the bending. I have a meso in the mail. I need to order another, one has to be black and my sons Tacoma is the grey colored

Nice toys as well. I have a clone of a mk12 I built. Upper from Charlie’s clones. Lower is a daniel. With binary. Original Hk rail covers. I’m waiting on the suppressor to go with coller. I’m about 3 months in. So should be soon. Once you go suppressed it’s hard. To go back. If you check og fab. ( don’t like there molle stuff I gave mine away ) but he has some ar blocks for mounting. No wiggle, They lock and you can run a lock through them as well.
He has them for ar. Ak, a few ar pistol locks. For my mp5 I had 2 3D printed . 2 mounts not that great. Thanks for answering. God bless and stay safe.

Thanks. I did not record the sound deadening or insulation. I was in a rush to get it done. I might video the rest of the truck, but there are already some good videos out there.

@@ClassyTacos thanks for the reply, it’s basically the same tool. I believe but it drives and crushes likes a cert nut. It has separate mandrels. It’s a German made tool I grabbed from Grainger. I have a neumatic rivit nut gun. But once it’s in it’s in,even on the lowest pressure setting. I also have a raptor. One of the guys in our club ripped his skid plate off. Like all the fatocty welded bungs out. I have a on board compressor under the hod it had 8 holding this skid plate one I use 6 of the neumatic river nuts , (they are a little stinger material) you know more then me. But it’s a year later and his skid plate now has all 8 takes it on and off. Rock solid . Was supposed to be a feild fix. We ended up cutting a door out for the oil plug. And used the handheld gun to make the nuts to go in and out. I love your stuff. It’s my sons Tacoma, he is always finding projects lol he wants a on board compressor, I was thinking of splitting a tank kit and putting it behind the back seat. Wish you guys had stuff for raptor. I have had my own stuff made. My son wanted a bridge for his Tacoma , I wanted one for the raptor . I ended up using paper to mock up sides. (I have access to a water jet machine my chopper builder lets me use it) I made the sides and made a bridge but it’s 3 peices 2 up sides and one across. Instead of Tacoma style 3 peices. I first bought my son one from another fab. Way to big for a taco and not good quality, had to bend your self. No spacers dug into the head liner. We just ordered him your hex panel. His truck is a green so I’ll powered coat that to match truck. The other panel I cut up and made some molle stuff for my raptor. Thanks sorry for long text, love meso’s stuff. It’s the name mesa tactical amazing and meso lol

Who run a full size as a truck gun, i have 2 sig rattlers identical, with pdw stock ones 300 one is 5.56 , with gen tech can and Surefire they fit solid. Enough room. Who cares I drive . I don’t sit in back lol

Just as flimsy as any other lockable mag catch. As for the overhead rack, nothing is flimsy on it. I can do a pull up on it. Thanks for watching.
@@ClassyTacos the whole plate flexes at 18:50 when you're tweaking on it. I had to do a double take and google the product to make sure it wasn't a piece of PVC

@@schlomoshekelstein908 ha ha, it’s aluminum. In all seriousness it’s really not flimsy. I mean if you put 100 pounds on it, it will flex. For the ARs it’s fine, they lean up against the ceiling making a tight fit. They do not bounce around while driving, although I don’t drive full time with them in.
