- Thresh was a tribute in 74th annual hunger games, and he was the male tribute from district 11. This is the story of Thresh, and what we know about him and his beginnings in Panem, as well as his time in the arena.
my favorite character in the whole series tbh. strong, dignified, at least somewhat compassionate, and mostly unchanged morally by the games. dude deserved so much more.
Same
Same
Not my favorite but everything else I agree with
They did thresh dirty in the film, He was such a powerful character that they had to kill him off so it was even between them, Like BRUH He was such an interesting genuine character He got revenge for Rue and even let Katniss go for not Killing her and befriending her, And the way they kill him in the movie is to just hear his screams, Like bruh! As such a powerful smart character such as himself I think they did him welllll dirty.. I don't think he would of won to Katniss or Peeta but I believe he would of put up a good fight against them
I was so annoyed at his death because of how genuine he was
Lateclover RektGaming he could have one if they didn’t create those mutts they were designed to kill his character he could have killed katniss and petta
@@Marieee._ Ye tbh because it's theroized that he at the feast from his bag gained a bit of body amour which protects him from arrows from katniss, Also the mutts literally spawned on him, if you look at the film it takes like 15 seconds of them putting them in to then hear his screams, also CATO HELD OFF THE MUTTS FOR LIKE A MINUTE BUT THRESH CAN'T HOLD EM OFF FOR 2 SECONDS? That is so dumb! Cato was still alive while being fed on by the mutts but Thresh a very intimidating buff opponent couldn't last like 2 seconds? Honestly I think in the movies his death was outragious and I probably would of loved like EVEN a 2 min more of the film where the extra clip is like just like how he died in the books or movies idc, but I would of loved to see like JUST 2 minutes more of Thresh holding them off will all his might maybe make it emotional with like him saying to himself he'll see Rue in heaven you know? Like make it emotional and a true ending to such a amazing character or even show a battle scene between him and Cato I would of loved, But yeah, If he left Cato's bag at the feast Katniss would of died to Cato when he came for it and by that point Peeta would of died without the antidote Foxface would of survived pretty long probably then starve or Cato sneaks up on her then its just him and Cato which I believe Cato has a 54% of winning and Thresh 56% Due to him have body armour like Cato also but also having SO much food he would of outlived Cato food wise and also if the showdown was in the fields of wheet Thresh has a probably 94% chance of winning due to him being used to it and knowing how to get around it and being able to sneak attack Cato, Anyway yeah. But tbh if Thresh didn't do all those nice things for Katniss we wouldn't of liked him as much due to him sacraficing himself for Katniss we like him for being genuine but if he didn't help Katniss then what I said before would happen and his death would be just like the norm for the capitol and for us cause we weren't sad for any other deaths during the bloodbath were we? it was his genuine and kindness that made Thresh.. Thresh! Sorry this is long I just love his character such good writing just a bad death tbh.
Lateclover RektGaming IKR they did his death soo dirty I got sad that he lost just hearing his screams just made me get sad well at least he is in a better place now
Atleast in the film he was 3rd place unlike the book where he was 4th
@@district3girlamber124 In the film? How?? There was also Cato... But I get what you're going at
Thresh is one of my favorites. He's dignified, not naive to Capitol's cruelty, and not all brutal, he's kind hearted.
To think that one decision made by Thresh changed everything. If he had killed Katniss, Peeta would have died from his injuries, FoxFace probably would have died to the mutts and/or starvation and whichever one of Cato and Thresh outlasted the other would be the victor O.o
Maya Poppe that would've been a bloody battle
Thresh would outlive Cato due to the fact Katniss states he looked like a put more on than before the games meaning he had a lot of food, so most likely he would of outlived Cato.
Had thresh not spared katniss he woulda won no doubt.
@@iFunky0 That may be true, but that just ruins Thresh's character since we liked him for his honest and genuine personality, letting katniss go knowing he is leaving a strong competitor for helping a little girl from his side,
Lateclover 100% agree I’m just sayin that if we’re going by fighting ability thresh woulda thrashed everyone
Im sorry, but I refuse to believe that Thresh would lose to Cato in a fight
@@L.scardi9138 Thresh is probably more muscular and would overpower him or atleast will hurt cato enough that cato would die after killing thresh
@@Joseph-cw3gn even if thresh was hurt his crescent sword could finish cato or even hurt him to bad also cato didnt have the armor also he was stronger leading to his sword more manuverable
@@L.scardi9138 all these Monday morning Quarterbacks make me laugh... ignoring the fact that if Rue had been trained in combat since birth then she could have killed Thresh... brute strength only goes so far and if we talking about a sword fight which is i feel like what most people assume went down in the Thresh vs Cato fight in the field then obviously the one with a decade or more of training should win that fight
Cato had an armor and Thresh is weaponless in the book. I don't think it's fair
Didn't Cato have armor and Thresh not?
I really liked Thresh, he was courageous, defiant and true to his word. One of the Hunger Games' purposes is to kill solidarity, to divide and conquer and for this reason, I think that every act of kindness is more dangerous to the Capitol, than any word of hate.
One of the things I hate of the Hunger Games is that there aren't winners, so in a way it's better to die in the games rather than survive with severe trauma, PTSD, sense of guilt...
While in other book I root for my favourite characters to survive, in this one I'm much more divided.
😢😢😢😢😢😢 He was so helpful to katnis because when he said. Just this once and said that was the last time he would help her and then helps her again by stealing catos bag hes so generous R. I. P. Thresh in the film
Ok! I’ve read the comments about Thresh’s possible victory and how did him dirty(which I agree) and I’ve made up my way into creating a scenario where Thresh and Rue were the main characters(Not Katniss and Peeta) and here’s the story:
Thresh and Rue are close friends, their parents work together.
They’re reaped together.
They trained somewhat together.
He helps her get away with her mischievous pranks during training.
They make a secret alliance back in their quarters.
Thresh is the muscle and the brains.
Rue is the watcher and thief.
She steals supplies from either dead or sleeping tributes and brings it to their hide out. The fields of wheats.
Thresh says he’ll need to go off alone for a while and asks Rue to find a temporary ally till he comes back for her.
When Katniss comes to save Rue from the net, she is stabbed in the abdomen by Marvel, Rue screams and Katniss tells her to run, which she does.
Thresh returns for Rue finding her in a tree and they reform their alliance.
At the feast? Katniss is dead. She is unable to get Peeta so he died too. Clove sees Foxface and does due with her.
She and Marvel then bathe in the satisfaction of killing Katniss.
When Rue begins to cry quietly(as to not get them caught) she explains to Thresh what happened and that she was meant to be the target.
Thresh releases his anger on the two, killing them for killing the only protecting a sister figure of his had left and trapping Rue.
Then? It’s only Cato, Thresh and Rue.
Cato gets mauled by the dog mutts since they spawn straight on him basically.
Rue and Thresh? Were in the trees.(She got him up there on strategy and placing him up there.
They’re then left the last two, the rule changes back to one victor only and the two, similar like in the original movie. Drop their weapons and refuse to kill each other but decide to go out together as a symbol of family.
Seneca let’s them live and they return home.
As the rest of the other movies? Thresh trains Rue in weaponry.
When Rue is older she is able to sneak onto the train to the Capitol and and into President Snow’s home, with her talents of sneaking and climbing along with her speed is able to assassinate him and return home without a hitch. His daughter(that looks up to Katniss) Is older now and becomes the President and makes repairs to the separations her father did.
The End.
(I know the very ending isn’t much well thought out but this was all just a thought let me know if you think I was right about any of this)
Wow
Thats a nice story
Real good story
No way in hell Cato killed thresh!! Physically not possible
yeah
The only way Cato killed thresh was because he had more armor
@@nicholai3016 he did not have any armour at the time because thresh took his feast bag
@@bredaross8289 oh yeah. I forgot about that. What about sponser crates
@@nicholai3016 I don't think sponsor crates gave him much at the time nor thresh
Cato’s confrontation with Thresh would make sense on why Cato was beat and distressed in the finale of the movie. I think the movie played Thresh way weaker than he really was. In the books he’s described as way more of a threat (as he actually is). I remember the first time I watched the movie I was livid because I couldn’t believe someone like Thresh would fall due to some mutts. I really loved district 11 and I think if this wasn’t a series with a rebellion and he killed Katniss, it’s likely Thresh would have won or at least made final 2.
he was the coolest person by a mile
If he was a career from 1 or 2 he would be a victor easily
You need to keep this up brother these videos are gold
giancarlo Fletcher Thank you that’s nice of you to say
So when Cato was bloody and battered at the end of the hunger games was that from his confrontation with Thresh or was he injured while trying to run away from the mutts
Ed Ra the book thresh, the movie mutts (I think)
In the book, Cato killed Thresh for killing Clove, in the Movie, Thresh did killed Clove, but Cato didn't kill him for it, it was the Mutts
Hard to know
I think it was a bit from thresh but mostly from the mutts
I think I’m the movies it doesn’t show but Cato somewhat got ina fight with thresh then the mutts came and thresh didn’t make it but cato did
I’ve been crying through this entire video, I watched a scene of rues death and then I watched this video out of curiosity
I wish he won
Agreed
Thresh was loved by his people and admired by some of the other equally poor districts but I doubt neither he or Rue gained any sponsorships after having only won one game.
Thresh most definitely should’ve won
Him and rue
no not should've would of
@@GamerGamerGamer77777 wat?
@@RomanSimkins in movies if not for mutts he could of won
gamer777 wasnt iT Cato who killed him?
My favourite character was threash and felt realy sad when he died and reaky wanted him to win
I think that thresh is much powerful than cato. I think that thresh must kill Cato without problem
i just realized this was rues first time on the list...such bad luck
My favorite male tribute probably
District 11 lost more Hunger Games than District 12 had; Thresh only notably won one Hunger Games while 12 won once by death committed by both the District 13 rebels (Indirectly) and the collaboration between a Mentor Coriolanus Snow and "12" tribute Lucy Gray, a second by technical draw between a Peacekeeper/tribute Coriolanus snow and returning Tribute Lucy Gray and a third by chance by forced rule change committed by tributes Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Milark and an incomplete win committed by the rebellious district 13 . I do not think there was a surviving member of District 11 working as a costume designer/hair dresser. As was pointed out in a different video, most of the Costume Designers/Hairstylists were Capitol citizens and the few who were not were either assigned to fill the place of his or her predecessors in the job or chose their own team clients but usually not completely confined to working with tributes of their own respective district.
you are underrated i think i will shout out you
gamer777 Thank you!
In the film thresh seems to die from muts, but then in the last movie Katniss says that cato kills thresh?
In the books, Cato kills Thresh, but in the movies, he's killed by the mutts
@@changedmyusernameagain7654 he’s killed by Cato in the movie
@@changedmyusernameagain7654 he is stated by the movie directors
They kind of retconned his death in the movie series because we clearly hear him being ripped apart by mutts. So I just say Cato and Thresh were fighting but then the game makers released the mutts and Cato wounded Thresh leaving him for the mutts to finish off then he ran to the cornucopia. Thus being credited for his death.
@@kitakoproductions8894 that's what it seems like or maybe cato push thresh into the mutts and ran to the cornucopia and u can see Cato's face was all bloody
The actor was 26 when Hunger Games came out 😂😂
Black don't crack
He was 23 not 26

Thresh is my fav person from the hunger games he is big cool
What if Katniss and petta weren't in the 64th game probably thresh would of won
its a good thing they werent
I think either thresh or clove
I agree or maybe foxface
they were in the 74th hunger games
Idk man it’s a tough call, I think Cato or Clove would’ve ended up winning if they didn’t have Katniss to go through.
Tom: Thresh

Thresh is the stronger that Cato but got eaten by the mutts
Who killed thresh? Cato or the mutts?
Honestly i think cato cuz the mutts didn't come from the direction his wild grass area was and i would if thought cato wanted to kill him cuz of clove. But i think if he did there would have been a very big battle due to the size of them both plus that could be why Cato had so much blood on hiim.
These are just my opinions they might not be right..
Miss Kitty thresh was killed by Cato in the books in the movie it was mutts
Marcus Scott no in the movie it’s also cato, you can hear cato scream and running away from the mutts eating thresh
@@Astro-pi6vt wait, I thought thresh was the one screaming or was cato also?
Breda Ross it was cato
Astro no in the movies Thresh was killed because of the mutts
When I first saw Thresh my suspension of disbelief went south for the winter because he’s 6’6 and intimidating as hell so I thought realistically speaking he would easily win the game because everybody else would be to busy running from him to fight him I mean look at him you expect me to believe that anybody would confront that beast of a guy hell no he would stomp everybody he’s a like a basketball player in height he’s a moose
What was his loyalty n love for Rue? I want to understand that a bit.
she was young so thresh prob wanted to protect her. like a little sister perhaps
the movie liked to dumb down the other people to make Kat look better
In the movie he is not more physical impressionnant
i do not believe thresh died to cato thresh would have just destroyed cato the only reason is the dogs
No, Cato would have destroyed thresh - dont get me wrong, thresh was extremely strong and probably stronger than Cato, but Cato had spent his whole life training for combat, weapons and without weapons, also, Cato like clove and would be fueled by her death, especially as she was killed by rue, cato also had almost all the weapons he wanted at his disposal, however, thresh only had a sickle, therefore, cato would have killed thresh no doubt.
I agree ☝️
Am I the only one who thinks Thresh would’ve won if Kati’s didn’t voulenteer?
catos pack im pretty sure was armor katness say something about him not geting a face gard when she shoots him
If thresh was 18 then why was he chosen to be in the hunger games, I thought they chose only kids
It’s ages 12-18
In the books it's crazy he was 18 standing at 6 foot 6
Plot twist:thresh is John Henry from an alternate timeline
thresh should’ve won or at least fought cato on scene and then get killed would’ve been cooler imo
I thought Thresh was killed by the muttations in the book.
Thresh 🥵
Ain't no way thresh is gonna lose to Cato in his playing field. I like to think it was the mutts who got him.
This guy doesn’t even freaking post anymore
He should survived tbh
