I tried learning the tapping section by ear before this, and what I was playing was so much harder and more convoluted than how you do it, so this should defiantly help me get much more consistent.
Love this Lewis! I think when you dabble at any level of guitar, music and/or recording, it’s always really cool to hear how someone else is doing it. Recording tips, how to licks and background stuff is really interesting to me
I had not heard of this song until you uploaded your cover a couple days ago and don't think I need to at this point! Your cover will suit me just fine.
Thanks! I’ll look into making a video for that one as well. I’m thinking of making a series of “tone guide” videos or shorts as well, so maybe I’ll get on that. In the meantime, in that video, here was what I used: Ibanez Y2KDNA (32 of 300) Morley Maverick Wah Pedal Chandler Little Devil Colored Boost Pedal Carvin Legacy Head Unit Carvin Legacy 4x12 Cabinet SM57 Microphone Vintage API 312 Preamp GML 8200 EQ Retro 2A3 EQ API 2500 Compressor Manley Vari-Mu Compressor MXR Auto-Flanger Lexicon 300 Eventide H3000 SE Yamaha REV7
@@OwlCoveProductions Thanks Man! I will look forward to it! Im planning to do a cover of FTLOG as well on my channel but im having a hard time getting the tone right. Im using fractal FM3 going direct to Line6 Powercab frfr.
@@murdocman777 great! I will say, that a little compression goes a long way. Balancing the distortion and compression until it sings is tough, but when you get it right it’s well worth it.
Thank you! It's taken a long time to acquire everything. I try to keep my eye out for killer deals, and keep a credit card on hand just in case. ;) It's always evolving though. I'll be posting a full studio tour at some point as well!
Thank you! That is a trick I learned directly from one of Steve’s techs many years ago. It’s the binding from a slider report cover, cut to size, and velcro-ed to the headstock. SUPER useful! www.officedepot.com/a/products/678708/Office-Depot-Brand-Sliding-Bar-Report/?mediacampaignid=71700000113658577_20473750957&gbraid=0AAAAAD2Eb4ewpQSXGZRhHM7yPx3FncWXF&gclid=CjwKCAjwoqGnBhAcEiwAwK-OkUh7ealg18RZTSqS50X_hheyPHzE1-H2L3XGBIHe_BdaCCFJlbvd0hoC6DcQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Thank you George!
This is very useful info of the setup. It sounds so much like the record too. Thanks
Thanks so much! Glad to hear it’s helpful. I’ll be making a more detailed video about my recording setup soon as well.
The end reminded me of greasy kids stuff lol.
Thanks for the video.
It is very interesting to hear your thoughts on Vai.
Thanks so much Nik!

Those effects racks behind you are amazing, you spent lot of money in there...

Incredible. And how did you make that pick holder on the headstock of your guitar like Steve?

How the hell did vai come up with some of this stuff? Answer: he’s a fucking genius and you good sir are a genius for covering these songs!
Thank you so much!
You look like Shroud. You must be good at FPS games.
I wish! Gamers are the new rock stars!
