The magic if seeing someone who looks like you, who grew up seven miles from where you are, succeeding AND bringing the knowledge home. Truly, this is what we need. Thank you for being who you are, your heart shines in the videos and time you spend with people who can't offer you anything but thanks and respect.
Also... potential partnership with Raven?
Great program they have
From Chicago and been riding since a kid horses, rodeo , team roping gave me such a greater look at life. Life could have went A whole nother way for me people like Matt gave me hope coming up. Brought tears to my eyes seeing and knowing these kids have a chance to. 😢🎉🎉🎉😊

BEST EPISODE YET!!! This is what it’s all about!
Thank you so much
"You're like a reining dealer" 🤣 This is awesome!
Spreading the word! 🤣🤣🤣〽️
Its true. These guys are teaching the kids…not just about horses but about life and that is verrry verry cool! Lessons with a horse can absolutely transcend and become life lessons that you reflect on…over and over - kudos to the Compton Cowboys for all they are doing for horses and people ❤️ And I bet they loved hopping on your horse!!!!!
Pretty impressive group
Thank you Matt Mills for giving back to children. The impact you are making is huge compared to the money you win in the arena. You make me happy. Thank you! Congrats on being humble and giving....
Matt I so appreciate the way you are with people . . I met you 3-4 years ago when you were competing at Sand Point in Vegas, you took time to talk with me a, spectator. . I am so happy for your success - -- you are a great role model for professionals . . It is how you live not what you win . . .I live in CO we raise beef and hay and I compete alittle in sorting . . . Thank You Val
Thanks for the kind words!!
Good stuff 👏! Thanks for giving back to the underserved communities. This kind of exposure allows these young kids to think and dream big! Keep up the great work !
You nailed it!! 💪🏾💪🏾〽️
This is such a great program to encourage youths to connect with horses. Thanks much Matt to bring attention to this super program for young people! So glad I watched this morning!
About halfway through this video, I realized that I had a huge smile on my face! Those kids will never forget this experience. Love it!!
You are my new hero Matt. That was most definitely inspiring for the kids. Their face when they felt the difference of a reining horse. Priceless.
I love the Compton Cowboys! I've been following them for years. I love their mission. I have one of their shirts, and love when I get questions about it because it gives me the opportunity to spread the word about them and what they do!
That’s cool to hear
These Compton Cowboys ROCK💞💯🤠👍🏻CANT APPRECIATE THEM ENOUGH FOR WHAT THEY DO & WHAT THEY STAND FOR!
SO SO VALUABLE TO THESE KIDS🤠🤩🙏
All kinds of bad ass! Makes my heart happy to see everywhere our cowboy culture reaches 👍
Wow! Amazing. Those are real men right there, what an amazing thing. I love this. You rock! Adds another layer of respect for you.
I hope these young people keep working for all that positivity. You own your dreams!
It’s all about opportunity. And that’s what they’re providing for these kids!
Teaching good values to kids, sticks with them their entire life. My hats off to all the senior and junior leaders there at the Compton Ranch.
There you go
Absolute amazing organization, there was a book recently written about them and their history, well worth the read.
My dad was a son of Italian immigrants who grew up in Fordham, Bronx and he learned to ride in The City as well. Learning about them and seeing what they do really makes me appreciate what my dad did to ride, and so very grateful he passed the love for the horse down to me. Even after 25 years of his passing the thoughts of him and horses brings tears to my eyes, I wish he was still around to today to the gifts he has given me today.
Thanks for this content. Mad respect to the Compton Cowboys, and yourself Matt!
Matt Mills you are amazing. Great job with the youth.
Awesome program… learning to love being outside AND experiencing the joy of horses….it doesn’t get much better than that. Horses are good for the soul! They will definitely be getting a donation from me. Thanks so much, Matt!
This makes my heart so happy 😀 I am so glad you hung out with the Compton Crew. ❤️
What a great program! And so cool of Matt to visit and expose these kids to reining and horsemanship.
You are a really decent person Matt 💜💜💜 I spent my entire career as a psychologist, working with people who have come from disadvantaged background, I love the way that you intuitively respond to those kids; every principle of equitation is based upon sound principles of psychology
Love seeing riders of all kinds, and it was so cool to see this group. Thank you!!
totally awesome matt keep doing gods work with these amazing horses
so awesome! kids looked like they had a blast! Way to go Matt!
It's Awesome that you reached out to them
Been following them on Instagram for awhile
@@mattmillsreining1 What he is doing in a city like Compton is priceless. The look on those young men riding says it all.
That was awesome Matt, I can certainly relate. Growing up with a horse in my back yard in the city to having horses in Ft. Worth Futurity cutting horse sales was a dream come true for me. You as a professional trainer/horseman reaching out to them made a world of difference. That was great! Love your work & videos.
So cool to see you give these kids a chance to ride a horse most people would never have an opportunity to get on. Even just a short time with you and your mare will have improved their horsemanship immensely! You’re the best Matt :)
Planting seeds was the goal
Thanks for hanging out with the kids and giving them a great example to follow! I’m old enough to remember horses living in La Habra!
hahaha. Thanks for watching!
Man, this is the coolest collab! Those young guys have great seats. Love seeing the smiles you brought to their faces.
The smiles made my day

I wish these Compton Cowboy’s all the best. I know how hard it is maintaining horses in the country I can only imagine how hard it is in the city.🙏😎
Edit: God Bless you brother.
Hi again MATT
No surprise!
What a special role model you are to those kids especially because you're from their own area. What is possible to them too if they work hard and dream big.
A self made success that you are speaks volumes and goes along way to giving them hope that anything is possible.
Thank you for doing your part in a small corner of the world making a big difference.
Thx as always for sharing...
That was me a long time ago!!! Thanks for watching as always!!
Awesome! Love that you let them ride that fancy broke horse. Very cool
Matt I have been following you for some time now. I love your channel. I have been watching and reading about the Compton Cowboys. I love what they do! 👏🏻 thank you for this. I know a gentleman and his family that had Tennessee Walking horses there also. I’d love to see you ride a Tennessee Walker!
They all have a great seat but Isaiah is a natural! So inspiring!
Priceless. Thank you
This is pure gold!! You're a huge role model for these kids, this is life changing for some people. My horse was an escape from abuse. The smile on that kid's face @10:31
I grew up real close to this place
I’m a similar environment. We can forget how big an impact horses can have on us! ✌🏾✌🏾
@@mattmillsreining1 you were lucky to have had horses at an early age too.
I grew up in a very rural local, we had a volunteer fire/EMT department and 40 miles from the nearest hospital, movie theater and major grocery store.
My mom was abusive but my dad was amazing, I didn't want to cause problems in their marriage. One day I came home to an American Shetland (11.5 hands), a well mannered stallion named "Dusty, who had every bit a big horse mentality.
We would disappear for hours after school, on trails he was small enough to fit under fallen trees, strong enough to go up steep trails, etc., he loved to go. He was also good at cutting cows. He was my saving grace.
I like how respectful the head guy was getting on Matt's horse
amazing program. very glad these programs are growing and giving a hand up to those who dream
The more light we can shed on them, the better!!
Enjoyed this it gave us a glimpse of your background as well. I just heard about them the Compton Cowboys through a friend. I was more familiar with the Compton Jr Posse.

Hey, Matt, where does the kids go for trail riding.
What kind of compatistion do the kids go threw.
Those kids in Compton ride on the river bed
@@mattmillsreining1 Hey, When I rode a kid, I remember riding on the river beds, They have stables there. Thanks for the information, they are looking to horses?
💯❤️🇺🇸
👊🏾👍🏾〽️
Oh, I enjoyed this so much. I happened to yesterday be looking at a type of saddle typical of South Africa so I was looking at South African tack shop websites and disturbed the pictures were all white people. No attempt at even token diversity. I googled for more info on whether riding is really that "White" in SA and found a unique program in South Africa teaching Black youth to ride, led by South Africa's one Black professional show jumper. But apparently the reason for it is that riding is almost solely "White" in South Africa. Black folks were using horses, but as draft animals, pulling carts. Huge class/culture divide, along racial lines. Can't have that in America and shouldn't have to be like that anywhere. People should feel their dignity and horses can be good for that.
I spoke too soon!
I was all for your channel till you took off your spurs an got someone to heel spur, that's a real lack of consideration for the horse an teaching the rider brutality.!!! You should have the horse listen to you without that.!!!! I don't recommend brute force an unsubscribing
Happy Thanksgiving !!! 👍🏾👍🏾〽️
The young man barely tapped the horse!:)
