- Today is a fun episode. We take a look at the NPC mod. This adds random spawning NPC that will build up little areas and defend them. They also send out raiding parties. This is going to add a lot more fun to our single player adventure ! If you like the shorter style videos, Please leave a like and even a comment. NPC actually look like fun - i was sceptical first but this seems funny!
Honestly, i really enjoy them. I don't play pvp much, so this gives me a bit of a taste. They carry some incredible loot and build up little bases. It feels more like the world's not empty. It's definitely worth a try, buddy ! You can also tame them and have them help you, but I never got to that part yet, lol. Hope you had a great New Year !

I did actually however I've never gotten around to taming them yet. What exactly can they do for you ?

Tame NPCs can guard your land, they can patrol it or be set in turret mode to defend it from the rooftops.
They can collect resources that are in the area as well as look after your crops.
They will look after your Forge, Campfires, Cook Meat, Put the correct stuff into Preserving Bin and Crop Plots and even catch meat and fish.
The loot is a neat feature, makes it alot more interesting to go raiding but without having to be online

Thanks, brother ! It's been so much fun. So the one I'm using is called simple Creature Finder. It says it has issues working on single-player, but it's been working perfectly fine for me. Just doesn't pick up dinos on the other side of the map until you get closer to them.
Its pretty cool! Tiny is funny!

Love this, I like making bases with Old school style Walls and watch towers but theyre useless in PVP, Do they Raid you back here or do they stick to their own villages?
Same here ! I don't play pvp though so this adds a great pvp feel without all the headaches lol. So yeah they will raid you if you let them build up around you. They have an NPC sign you can put down to stop them from attacking areas you want safe too.
The Honey doesn't stack because it's in individual jars like a canteen or water skin. The poison trap went off because the trip wire was connected when you picked it up. If you detach wire before picking up that won't happen.
Oh thank you ! I've never played around with the pvp gear. Having the npc mod isn't quite the same but it at least gives me a reason to try some of these things. The narco trap is one I've always been curious about. So I'm curious, can you change the settings on the traps so they only activate when hit by an enemy or are they more motion activated so to speak.
@@The_Survivors_Handbook yes you should be able to go into the more options menu and set it for other player, dinos and such. You can do the same with turrets.
@erikcarlsen2179 I appreciate the help, buddy ! I've played pve for well ever, really. I've used turrets before when setting up my advanced rafts or base defense. But a lot of the neat things were for pvp, so I never bothered trying them. I'll build a few more of the tripwire alarms and see of I can set them to not go off when I walk past lmao

It depends on the size of the base, but oh ya, they seem to have lots of people around.
I did download it but have seen no npc sadly or anything 😢 how do you activate it? Because did download it and switch it on but noting😢
Oh, when you first install it, make sure to do a dino wipe with the destroywilddinos command. Then they'll start spawning in buddy.

NPC loot is not attached to a stack mod. The only bad thing when 'raiding' them

Definitely an interesting mod, in your opinion what are the downsides to using it?
The only downsides I'm noticing are 2 and they're not huge. First being that the human npcs do take up some of the dino spawns. And the second being that when you try taming stuff sometimes these guys will be right there to attack you and your tame
@@The_Survivors_Handbook The part of them attacking you and the dino your taming would suck. Also taking up a dino spawn could be problematic.

mu human npc doesn't spawn...what to do? Did I miss anything? I thought it was a straightforward install and play
Ya it's usually pretty straightforward. Maybe make sure it's activated and then when you load your map. Try the destroywilddinos command and they should start spawning in. Sometimes you have to dino wipe to get the mods to start spawning
Its so cool that they build their own little villages
I love that about the mod. It really is a gamechanging mod !

@cuh_ oh that one is the npc mod. The buildings they build up have a chance to spawn a little chest with loot. Almost all the buildings have one. Some are just really hard to see. Adds a neat looting aspect to the game
Where do you find them on the map the island
The npcs I'm noticing are spawning all over the place. My base is close the red obelisk and they seem to be all up the river. If you don't notice any around use the destroywilddinos command and it should help them spawn in properly. I do that command after adding any dino or mod that is a spawn. Seems to help alot.

ran this mod for a couple weeks. cant say i was impressed, take up lots of spawns for creatures, once tamed they wonder off all the time. pretty useless and not worth the mod space tbh
I'm glad you messaged this actually! I was just wondering this. So that's probably why I'm seeing alpt less of my other creatures spawning in. After wandering the map it seems to spawn more creatures. But a majority of my creatures lately are these guys.

I actually just answered this question from someone else not long ago. If you scroll up the comments a bit you should find it. Lol I can't remember off the top of my head I'd have to load the game up.

They shpuld at least have tames or turrets.. something .. once you get metal up they cant touch u anyways.. cool mod for like a hr until ur at metal ..
Actually, I was just thinking about that. I haven't messed around with it much yet. I've noticed they get some decent size bases, but they do have tames now. I'd love to see that as an update or something. Thanks for watching, buddy !

It is actually. It's the only thing I don't really care for about that mod.
