    Just bought this maschine, and I want to compliment You for this thorough review. I got tired just to look at the 80 pages manual, but after following Your video, I can start at once after the startup wash with out close in the washer. Thanks Clare(:-))

    It isn't just free, but actually generates revenue by using less energy.

    This video is so good. One wonders why the manufacturers can't do a series of videos like this. Manuels are another animal.

      I’ve just spent all day pulling together information on a vacuum which was in three different places and the instruction booklet was useless, so I do agree, but at least it leaves a gap for me!

    Really useful thanks. Was bugged by two things. The screen not showing a countdown - due to a pointless effort at power saving - and the machine showing 0:00 but still slowly flipping the laundry back and forth. I didn't realise you could stop it and open the door. Anti-crease disabled and screen timeout now both disabled! Thank you.

    I'd like to know if it's possible to put less time to a program. I mean : I'm going to wash with a program that it's 1 hour and 40 minutes, for example, I use short option, and time is now 1 hour and 24 minutes. My question is: Can I make shorter this program? Thanks

    Miele is really expensive, but my entire Family buys nothing else. You buy the Machine and then you can forget about it for at least 20 years. My aunt just retired a Dryer that has run for 35 years without any repair or maintenance done to it. Now the mechanical program selector switch didn't work right anymore. It could be repaired, but at this point a new one pays for itself after 2 years in energy savings alone...

    I also love this machine which replaced my previous 18 year old Miele. I find it very easy use however, I don't know or understand why even the 20/30 minute wash cycle has a prewash. I know because it always starts filling from the prewash drawer. I find myself putting detergent in both drawers when I'm not sure I really need a prewash. Is this a way around this? Many thanks.

    I wish I could post a photo. The washer says W1 Excellence or Extreme or something like that (will have to look at it again). I will not use the dos system. I only use laundry powder, Gain if you have it there. The machine here does not have a dial on the side. It just has a panel in the middle that lights up like yours. This is far too complicated for me. I just want a normal, traditional machine where you manually choose your cycle and water temp.

    mine went after 3 years and well maintained. £279 for a fix. Can get a different branded new one cheaper. Not happy as I bought it on the robust claims to be environmentally friendly. So do I get it fixed and it breaks or be throw away generation or get a new one.

    This is the best video I have seen on this washer, but have questions.
    I know a lot of people love these machines, but I absolutely hate them. The one in my rented house does not have the dial on the right like the one in this video. It just has a touch screen.
    I do not know what I am doing. I do not use caps or dos. I use regular washing powder. How do I know how much powder to use? How do I know what is a full load in one of these machines? I need to wash double size sheets and a queen size blanket and towels. These are all white. I want to use a "normal' wash time of perhaps 26 minutes and HOT water. I see no way to choose that on this machine in this house. I wash almost all of laundry on a "normal" setting. Sometimes I use delicate, but that is all.
    Can I just choose either a "NORMAL" wash or a "DELICATE" wash? And, can I choose my temperature myself, i.e. either Hot, Warm, or Cold? In other words, I want to use this machine like a normal, traditional washing machine. I have no idea how much these machines cost, but as far as I am concerned, they are not worth if it you cannot choose your wash as normal or delicate and then choose your own temperature---Hot, Warm, or Cold.
    These machines are ridiculously complicated. I have used traditional, normal machines for over 50 years, and they work FINE to clean anything I put in them.

    • @CandidClara
      @CandidClara  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can choose temperature and delicate on THIS machine, but without knowing what model you have (and perhaps even when I do!) I’m afraid it’s impossible to advise you how to program it. As regards load, it really depends on how dirty the laundry is, a load with less in gets to move around more and circulate the water and detergent which obviously matters more for really dirty fabrics and dosing quantity should be on the detergent bottle/bix, but I’m in the UK and that’s just how it’s done here…

    Loved your review.
    I am researching a new washing machine (first time front loader) and saw a current Miele model yesterday (with similar features) that really impressed me, however it was a little more than I was budgeting for.
    Today I came across an ex floor display model of the WDD030 at another store which is at the top range of my budget and wondered if it was worth considering purchasing
    Online reviews are hit and miss, so it was good to see how it functions in real life (even if a few years later now)

    Hello, thank you for your good review! I have just purchased this machine, and am basically very happy with it. However, I am having difficulty starting a second load of laundry after the present load is done. After a "standard" load of clothes on the "Shirts" cycle, I wait until the anti-crease cycle finishes. Then I put the dial back to the top, and hear a click, and try to open the door. But it often does not open, until I move the dial back and forth many times. This causes me to have to wait sometimes hours until I can put in my second load. What am I doing wrong? Thank you if you can advise me.

    • @CandidClara
      @CandidClara  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Joyce Armel the machine stays locked for a little time after the cycle has completed. To bypass this, press start/stop once to turn the display on and a second time to unlock.

    16/3 23, lf you know the usual dry weight of items that includes outerwear ciothing adding up to the 3kg limit but they become rain-soaked resulting in extra total weight will this exceed the usual maximum loaded weight to put into the machine - that will become soaked during the washing cycle ?

    That is a massive laundry load. Does it get all of those clothes clean? How long does it take? If you need to wash only a few items does it wash those? I had an LG washer in 2016 that sensed the load size and wouldn't work if the load were too small.

    I was surprised to see that it doesn't beep when finished. All the washing machines I had before used to do it. Do you know if there is a way to change that in the settings? Thanks.

      I don't believe it is possible.

      On my Miele, you press the Start/Stop button after the wash has started and it asks you "Activate Safety Lock?"
      Mine is a slightly different model to this one though.

    Hi I have this machine it’s wonderful. Can anyone help me I have a Red Cross that’s shows up? How can I get Reid of this 😊

    • @spencerwilton5831
      @spencerwilton5831 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rachel Brown Read the instructions! The Red Cross indicates that the machine is overdue for a sanitising wash. All you need to do is run a 90 degree cotton wash with standard powder detergent. This should be done monthly to help reduce build up inside the machine. The cross indicates you have not done so.

    Hi! A quick question. Here we got the same washing machine since yesterday and I love it! The only issue I cannot seem to figure out is when I wanna choose the time myself. Let's say cotton wash (the light one) 40 on 1400 short prog and instead of the given time I pick 1h... as soon as i press start. It locks and such.. but then it just doesnt start washing... I DO see the minutes go down... it'll basically only work on the 'preset' times and never on the time I manually put in myself... I tried other times and programs with that as well... nothing. What am I possibly overlooking??

    • @CandidClara
      @CandidClara  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Kelly Taramaschi the time you are putting in is a delayed start time, you can’t change the duration of the cycles!

    The so called “features” of nappy soak, delay timer and Miele detergent pods are irrelevant for most users of washing machines. It needs some variations of wash times in addition to the current limited times of 30 - 180 minutes.
