You might be interested to find out that the Big Fat Black sweaty vocalist Died of a Massive Fat Heart Attack. it’s amazing that though-out the Late 1970’s & early 1980’s Skinhead & Punk was Big News & the first concept of Skrewdriver was back in 1975. That was when Ian Stuart formed a band called TUMBLING DICE & the band mainly played cover versions of songs by the Rolling Stones & The Who . But by 1977 the Band changed their name to Skrewdriver & started to write their own material. Soon after their first single Called = ANTISOCIAL was released at the end of 1977 SKREWDRIVER now Took a major image change, Dropping their Punk look & becoming a Skinhead Band. The Skrewdriver Album Called = “ALL SKREW’D UP” Was soon too follow. Becoming Skinheads did nothing to improve their image and then the mainstream music press quickly labelled Skrewdriver fans as Thugs & National Front Supporters. The media then called upon Skrewdriver to Denounce their Patriotic followers. So of course Skrewdriver declined & the Music & Mainstream Press declared war against them. When a complete ban on advertising & gigs became harder & harder to find the band called it a day in 1978. Skrewdriver reformed in 1979 with a new guitarist and a new drummer & promptly released the Built up Knocked Down E.P. But once again the advertising ban & the constant attention from the mainstream media led to the band splitting up again in 1980. So at the end of 1981 Ian Stuart moved to London & formed yet another line up. This time around the band members were a lot more clued up on what kind of reception to expect. & they set about building the Skrewdriver following with A vengeance. Back in early 1982 they released the 12” Called “BACK WITH A BANG!” And then they released two tracks for the United Skins L.P Antisocial and Boots & Braces. So after years of problems & backstabbing and name calling by the music press, SKREWDRIVER Now Decided to get straight to the point & prove that actually all the vicious rumours about Ian Stuart & Skrewdriver were all 100% Correct.
