Superb. Really fascinating. Just returned after 5 days in Aberystwyth so stood on that very spot to take my own pictures and videos. It was fascinating to see the 1800's and how the castle was still alone on it's rocky outcrop before a road added around it. Thank you for the effort put into this James. Amazing work.
@@chrisjames1183 I think it is a better place now than when I was a child. We had a very violent teacher who was obsessed by social class. Children from Penparcau were discriminated against in all areas of life. I have never lived anywhere so divided by class. The 'crachach' used to claim that 'class does not matter in Aberystwyth because we are a Comminity'. They could say this because they enjoyed advantageous social positions and were themselves 'the community' because they ran the place! I'm glad that the town has changed partly through the introduction of comprehensive education and partly because working class chool children started to refuse to put up with the crap that was dumped on them by the crachach. You are probably experiencing a very different Aberystwyth to the one I witnessed in the 1960s. eg child force fed to humiliate her in front of the whole school because her father was unemployed which led to her breakdown. Man I tell you it was pretty savage. But the children were a lot kinder and more civilised than the teachers, some of whom would have been jailed if they behaved today as they did then. Unfortunately they were untouchable because their aim was social suppression of certain children's life chances. I spit on their graves.
