@@marcusoroberts Worked perfectly... The back wheel was really easy, exactly as you described. Instead I had to loosen both screws, then manually adjust it, constant small tweaks near 1st and 2nd until it was not rubbing on either part... then incredibly carefully tighten them up!
That will probably be the brake caliper. They all need slight adjusting even when new. Hopefully my other video on brake adjustment might help. Good luck!
Great video! It worked for my rear wheel, but I'm still stumped on the front wheel. So the problem is the disc is rubbing on the non adjustable side and no matter how much I push the break to the left it still rubs on the left pad. Is there a way to fix this or is my scooter just faulty?

Hi Steven, it's normal on scooters like these to have diametrically opposed brakes i.e. rear and front brake on different sides. This is down to balance and also ease of cables with 2 motors. It's more likely they still need adjusting.
hi marcus,. i got one of those chinese scooters with front and rear discs, front breaks are ok, however when i adjusted the actually calipers and brought them closer, they would rub badly on the rear disc, when i loosened them up a bit to leave space for the disc between them, they are then too far away for actual friction of the disc,i am currently riding with only i disc break that actually works, how do i go about fixing the rear one
Hi Alon. It's only ever the rear brake that causes the problem. Ok I will try to assist. Slacken off the 2 bolts on the top of the brake caliper enough so that it moves just little. Squeeze the brake lever and keep it squeezed (might need another person) and then tighten the rear bolt but not overtighten so it doesn't move, just to keep the caliper from moving. Rotate wheel backward and find the sweetspot where the brake grips and doesn't make a sound. Then tighten front bolt all the way and return to the back bolt and retighten. If it really doesn't grip the brake discs at all then you might have to do cable adjustment. Start with the caliper end and pull the cable through until you the point where the wheel becomes slower to rotate without pulling the lever. Set it there then micro adjust at the lever. Please do shout if I can help more. Don't go riding with only one brake mate!
@@meroawrr yes. It sounds when the wheel rotates that the disc is distorted but it really isn't. You hear the 'twirrling' sound? It just needs 'recallibration'. It rubs, then it doesn't, then it does. It's the minor tweak the caliper needs gentle adjustments.
Marcus i have a motorino xpb sometimes a god awful noise comes from the back wheel and the bike stops. It sounds as if something has got caught in the wheel spokes. I start it again and it goes but I feel every time I accelerate some catches for a moment and then it goes ok. I would really appreciate your help
Hi what could it be possibly be we hear like a clunking noise coming from the rear. It already had a new disc break when come back from repair from the company but they said it could slightly warped break disc. We can’t notice anything warped. You only hear it when riding not on work bench accelerating
This fix didn’t seem to work for my new Mantis 10. Is it ok to continue riding it even if the front wheel makes a slight scraping sound w each rotation
Sounds like distortion in the disc or dirt in the pads. I assume the pads are not worn? As long as the scooter stills stops safely and the noise doesn't bug you, should be ok. Cheers.
@Pedro, it's a good question. The way the wheel rotates forward you only check the front of the brake pad touching the disc first. This is usually over biased and makes the squeal sound. Rotating the wheel backwards ensures the 'negative toe' or 'toe-out' is neutral. The pad should hit the disc at the same time. Hope it helps.
My xiaomi m365 makes that scratching noise when riding but from time to time and it doesn't affect the performanse, bought it 2 weeks ago and a use it to go to work. Can I leave it alone without adjusting it ?
It sounds more like the cable needs adjusting. If the brake pad is worn, it would probably make a squealing noise. It wouldn't hurt to change the pads anyway because they are really cheap. Good luck!
Give me a little more detail so I can help. You say your 'back break stopped working' is like saying the engine on your car stopped working. Give me some clue so I can help!!
Hello Marcus, thank you for sharing. we have the same scooter viper duel 2000. but i have a problem with mine, the front wheel is a little bit wiggle when i go 50 kph above it's very hard to control because the vibration of the front wheel is strong. Could you please help me about this. Thank you very much in advance.
Hi Wenceslao, is the wiggle definitely from the wheel or is it from the handlebar stem? Also, is it a constant sideways wiggle above 50 or a knocking/rumbling thing. And does it happen with the front motor on and off? Hope that makes sense. I will also do some higher speed testing at the weekend to see if I can replicate. Thanks bro'.
Marcus Roberts i tried to check it very carefully yesterday and i found out that the rim is aligned but the tyre and the disc rotor are wiggled. So i think i will change the tyre and try to align the disc rotor but it's a lot of work. What do you think the best idea? Do you know where i can buy the tyre if ever? Thanks for the reply bro.
Hi Wenceslao, did you resolve this problem? If not, did you try putting the scooter on a block and turn the front wheel without power, and also turning at high speed with power? Does the problem only occur under load? I think if the tyre has around 45psi and has no deformities then that's not the problem but you can get 2.50 x 10 tyres here: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kenda-Tyre-2-50-x-10-Inch-4-Ply-Rating-Scooter-Moped-Classic-K-313-C-10-001-NOS/263512017072?epid=17010288938&hash=item3d5a8a48b0:g:DG8AAOSwUn9aF19F I think 2.75 x 10 tyres also fit and are slightly wider profile. Perhaps the wheel might need balancing if the wobble is high speed? I don't think there are places you can do this professionally but you could try to balance through trial and error.
I am having issue on my scooter, every time I turn on the lighting the motor does jerking and run very rough on the front wheel, but when I turn off the light it runs just fine. Any Idea?
You could try swapping the controller output cables so that the rear and front motors are opposite. This will isolate whether there is a problem in the front motor, the wires or controller. There might be a short circuit between the wire for the light and the front motor power. Let me know if you find the problem.
Is it a dual motor scooter or has it a motor on the front wheel? if yes, then you need to run it on a block to see if it turns the wheel as expected. Then turn the front motor off and turn the wheel and check for friction. It will either be the brake or the bearing. Detach the brake calliper an see if it still rubs, then it's the bearing.
@@marcusoroberts it is a back wheel motor it pulls from the back wheel but the front wheel disc brake and pads are touching i think this is slowing it down
@@BigLen904 OK, so now you know it's the brake, just follow the instructions for the back wheel. Its sounds like your brake seizure is more extreme. Slacken it all off, but don't slack the cable too much. Clean up grime and reassemble. It is definitely a calliper alignment issue.
@@marcusoroberts i am going to do this now thank you very much, do you think this is why the scooter was slow on accel and bad at top speed because the brake was slowing it down?
@@BigLen904 what is the make of your scooter out of interest? Like I said, Put the scooter on a block and test it. Turn the front wheel. Unscrew the bolts for the calliper. Does the wheel rotate quicker? The brake pads will last for at least 2 years unless you drive 50 miles a day. The calliper might need adjustment.

Do you hear the noise when breaking?
@@marcusoroberts the noise is constant. As soon as start riding. And goes quieter when slowing down letting of the accelerator

Cheers.
Mine just makes a noise every now and again when riding is something faulty or do I need to adjust it
It's worth adjusting the breaks on a regular basis anyway, but you might just have some dirt on the pads.
@@marcusoroberts I was suspecting the pads avovo are a good company tho straight away they sending new disk brake and pads
Thanks.
Why would you taste it rolling the wheel in the opposite direction of when it's running on the road? (just want to understand)
@@marcusoroberts Yes, thanks for answering
My xiaomi m365 makes that scratching noise when riding but from time to time and it doesn't affect the performanse, bought it 2 weeks ago and a use it to go to work. Can I leave it alone without adjusting it ?
Yes you can leave it. It won't affect breaking performance or damage the disc. It's only suggested because the noise is annoying.
@@marcusoroberts thank you very much sir, God bless you.
When i squeeze , the break just doesn't clip anymore , isit because i ran out of brake pad?
It sounds more like the cable needs adjusting. If the brake pad is worn, it would probably make a squealing noise. It wouldn't hurt to change the pads anyway because they are really cheap. Good luck!
Glad I stayed right to the end haha is your head okay lol
Cheers!
mine squees really weird like its engine or something help
What happened my back break stopped working.
Give me a little more detail so I can help. You say your 'back break stopped working' is like saying the engine on your car stopped working. Give me some clue so I can help!!
its work thx 👍🏻
ive tried doing this and it is still being noisy. any tips?
I guess if this doesn't work then the discs are distorted or the pads are worn.
Is it possible to loosen the Calipers if the wheel is a slight wobble ?
Do you mean the wheel wobbles when you ride it without braking? Does it wobble all the time?
@@marcusoroberts yea all the time
Hello Marcus, thank you for sharing. we have the same scooter viper duel 2000. but i have a problem with mine, the front wheel is a little bit wiggle when i go 50 kph above it's very hard to control because the vibration of the front wheel is strong.
I think if the tyre has around 45psi and has no deformities then that's not the problem but you can get 2.50 x 10 tyres here:
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kenda-Tyre-2-50-x-10-Inch-4-Ply-Rating-Scooter-Moped-Classic-K-313-C-10-001-NOS/263512017072?epid=17010288938&hash=item3d5a8a48b0:g:DG8AAOSwUn9aF19F
I think 2.75 x 10 tyres also fit and are slightly wider profile.
I have this noise from my front wheel and I think it’s slowing my scooter down as it has slow accel and my friend has faster accel than me
Is it a dual motor scooter or has it a motor on the front wheel? if yes, then you need to run it on a block to see if it turns the wheel as expected.
The calliper might need adjustment.
thx a lot
Hope it helped 🤞🏻
I have a chaos 1000w electric scooter and I have the same problem thanku
Great stuff Nitro! Cheers.
It the scooter ghost, You wanna bless that scooter with some holy water before you hit top speed on it, lol, Only joking, At least the light didn't blow up on your head, Having issues with my brakes already an only done about 60 70 miles, How many miles do the discs usually last for on the electric monster scooters anyway's?
But you explained this easy, Pity about the light falling on you tho, I will be honest had a little chuckle off that one soz, lol...........
Hi Matthew, the discs will last forever unless they've become contaminated by grease or oil from the road. The pads should last 500+ miles
Didn’t work I guess I’ll send it to the shop I have a warranty on it that’s good
Sorry to hear that. Most cases works, but not guaranteed.
Lol he he ha ha x
I get a grinding noise when I brake with my Aovopro ES80, it’s brand new any ideas on how to fix?
Are they mechanical or hydraulic brakes? Shouldn't be too different, the principle is the same if you follow my vid.
