They are a good boot i really like them great tabbing boot . I would of paid big money for boots like this when i was back in the infantry O3 - 09 . Issued boots to day are miles ahead of the crappy combat high black boots we used to get issued they would cost a civi £34 to buy kind of says it all for the old black issued boots.
They are worlds ahead in terms of functionality and comfort. A great all rounder boot and something the UK forces really should’ve looked into sorting sooner. Thanks for your comment
I've just bought a pair mate and I found them too rigid it was like wearing wooden blocks so i need to send them back. I'd size up as well as I take 10s and they were too small.
Hello mate good reivew new to these boots and was womdting if yiu could help om size wise? I've a wide foot and was looking at these boots but unsure how snug the fit is width wise ? Im a uk 12 would you recommend a 12m or 12L cheers 👍
Hi mate thanks for the comment. I’ve always found the boots true to size and I’ve got 3 pairs. In terms of width I’ve always had the m size but if you normally need to get wider shoes or boots then I’d recommend the L as they had a bit more room inside. If possible I’d recommend going to your local surplus shop and trying some on first before deciding
Hi mate, I’d recommend going true to size. I’ve had 3 pairs in my usual shoe size and they’ve all been spot on. Just find a decent sock to wear with them, whatever is comfortable for you. I’ve also had a pair 1 size up and they were just too big personally. In terms of weather I’ve had them in most conditions and I’ve never had an issue with cold or wet feet especially if the boots are well looked after. Hope this helps
I would say I have wider than average feet and they’re still without a doubt some of the comfiest boots I’ve worn. No crushing or squashing feeling while wearing them and even during prolonged use they’re still brilliant in my opinion so you should be fine with them. I would double check the dimensions if possible on the AKU website though first. Hope this helps
Thanks mate for that; I'll check them ou. I have new Karrimor sf combats as well, for winter. Haven't worn them yet as I was worried my 18 stone weight would spoil them. I them remembered you guys tb with hellish big weight on your back.
Weight shouldn’t be an issue with a good pair of boots like that. As the name suggests karrimor SF are made for special forces winter so you’ll be good mate. Glad I could help anyway
I’d say yes. They are an all rounder boot and that means all year round too. What I would say is you really need to keep on top of your boot maintenance through the colder months to ensure maximum waterproofing and comfort but I’m hoping to do a bit more testing on this subject over the coming months. Depending on deployments the armed forces do use different ‘winter issue’ boots such as iturri however that’s for conditions such as Norway etc. Normal winter conditions and cold climate should be absolutely fine and they should perform the same as the rest of the year
@@allykitreview121 Will enjoy reading about the outcome of you testing, but I have still gone ahead and bought some, would you say use aku's product's to protect the boots or other ?
I’ll look forward to making a winter review. Hopefully I can get some decent weather to test them out in. I’d say stick as close as you can to the AKU maintenance recommendations but alongside that I use NikWax products to enhance the breathability while maintaining waterproofing and comfort. Just don’t go cheap on your boot products and keep them clean as often as possible. I can guarantee you’ll like the boots though
Well AKU’s have been vigorously tested by the British Army and they have stood the test. They are a great all rounder boot but like every boot you still need to look after it. It would depend on what sort of environment you use them in but normally they will without a doubt serve well as a daily boot. If you ware the sole down it’s not hard or that expensive to get it re soled. I hope this helps
Thanks for the reply. I've found with all previous boots I've had they ALL split on the rubber branding where the boot flexes. Albergs last me 6 months and don't find them comfortable. Had haix cold wet.wether they were the best so far. 2 years and then the rubber gave way. But for.2 years of use I can't fault that. Had some itturi for 2 months and already the brand has come away from the leather..... Boots are cleaned multiple times a week and waxed! Sometimes daily. Wondered if you have had the issue I've had with other boots with these?
I’ve got altberg defenders and they never failed me so I’m surprised you only got 6 months but I can tell you obviously look after them. I’ve not had a problem yet with my AKU’s and they’ve always been comfy to wear and they’re a sturdy boot. Personally I’m not a fan of haix because I don’t them too heavy. I really like my AKU’s and they’ve really been put through their paces by the army but I’m one person among many. Most of of good fitness have AKU’s and they’ve never had problems but they’re not the cheapest so I’d suggest having a look around some of the other videos too before you make a decision but I hope this helps
Ive actually been through 2 new Pairs and a end hand pair.. I put it down to they're not right for my feet. The iturris are the nicest I've worn but not last me. I'm deffo going to give the AKU ago try something different from leather might suit better. Thanks for the replies!!
Not a problem. I hope I was Atleast some help. Hopefully you’ll find something good in the AKU’s. Like I say they’re a sturdy boot and they’ve stood the test of the British army so they must be decent

i too own same model boots since 2019. Had wore just couple of times. . Best part is... really comfortable to wear in rain.
Yeah they’re great boots. Best all rounders and my favourite boots at the moment. Great in all weathers
I managed to by a new pair and I mean new in a charity shop for £10:00 and can't believe how comfortable they are first class boot 🙂

How is the sizing? Am a size 46 EU for sneakers
Which size would you suggest?
Hello mate, should I size up and are they decent to wear in cold temperatures when it's snowing etc??

Thanks a lot mate, yes this helps a lot.😁
@Jonathan-iw5ic no problem
How are they for wide feet mate? That's what catches me out with my bloody plates; not long, just wide. Thanks John.

Thanks a lot mate; greatly appreciated. Keep up the good reviews they're a great aid and help. John.
Thanks. Means a lot to hear that and be able to help
Are these boots any good for winter use ?

Do you think they'll take daily use for long periods of time? Or will they die after 6 months ?
