The one blue thing is the handle (and lock) for taking the optical drive in and out. I believe the other blue thing you are referring to is the lock for the cage. With that lock engaged it keeps the optical and hard drive cage locked into place so it doesn't move around.

Are you talking about using the optical drive cables? If you are, the SATA cable for sure will work, however I am pretty sure the power cable will not work. But, you can get a Y-cable (splitter) for the power connection that splits the power and will provide power for two drives. Doesn't matter what kind. 1x 2.5" (mechanical) 1x SSD or 2x SSDs or 2x mechanical.

Which graphic card are you using there? It looks like it has two.
