Not sure why people are confused about the ending. The prince is essentially the same guy as the ml. When the prince dies and she wakes up in the hospital, the ml shares his first manuscript which is a historical love take but about their love story. The modern ml tells her about the book and its everything they went through.
Ideally liked this drama. I wish she stayed with him. There are real,document stories of people leaving this world to live in another because they liked it better in the other. China should consider the rest of the story when telling some of these.
This was painful to watch due to the abominable translations/captions. How can the producers release this? Maybe the AI translator is faster and cheaper, but the result is atrocious. You cant understand the story at all except for the most basic ideas. Unfortunately no one seems to care to correct this. Really a shame, I’m sure this could be a nice drama to watch if I could understand the dialog.
Sad part about this is that the subtitles are incomplete and inconsistent with the real translations, so I had to check other uploads from other channels to see the missing English translations. Albeit some have translations but still not that accurate. And it really ruins the moment. Some parts are either muted or had some loud background music added. I have mixed feelings about this drama. I'm not sure if she is better off with the 9th prince (who forced her to marry him and loved her so much that he wanted to choke/kill her just to make her stay with him, after knowing she would leave) or the boyfriend (who was indecisive and doesn't have the resolve to even marry her even after 6 years). For me neither of them suits her. I was thinking she's better off with the new guy friend. Anyways, with the FL not knowing what the prince almost did to her, of course, will choose the past Prince ML. The present ML writer boyfriend (who is also somewhat 'caring', nice, protective yet also selfish - cause he would give his career more priority than her) is also not a very good choice either. When I hear the FL's name I am always being reminded of Kong QiQi as 077. She should always, as an autopsy expert, wear a mask and gloves. I'm sure the deceased smells 10x like a dead rat and the smell would be awful even as a practiced medical examiner. Her sleeves, not only her hair, would also always hinder her way. Anyways, the ML as a writer writes his fantasy, reality, hopes and dreams in his works. And his subconscious can also be portrayed there. I think it's possible that was perhaps imbued in her dreams when she was in a coma. He probably read his works to her while asleep for 2 months. And that was why she got 'sucked' inside the story. That's my interpretation on this drama. And after waking up, she hopes that the ML from the past (or story) would manifest to the present as well. But the ending will all be according to the preferences of the viewers. Actually it's a little weird cause the ML was the one who died in the story and not the FL. So why was she the one who returned after that scene where the ML was stabbed? Although we already know that after she solves the mystery, she'll return back. It was still better if she was the one who got stabbed - that's more of a plausible way for her to return.
These are the most bizarre English subtitles I ever had to rely on...😢 even when I try to translate then into the other 4 additional languages I speak...they many x are utterly confusing instead clarifying whatever is going on!

Ergo, I'm not only accustomed to "read" faces, I'm actually above average competent of that skill since my preteens. 😉 Additional exposure to various different cultures, later my training under Prof Goodman here at the UW Psych grad school, only refined my innate early skills. however... the minute an actor/actress a) asks actor/ actress b) "Are you ok"? & b) shakes their head (as in No!) & they subsequently resume as if everything is fine 😳...it throws me off balance since what my eyes see & the subtitles state absolutely & logically DO NOT MATCH! I wonder, if something that simple is translated obviously erroneously, how reliable are the more complex parts, especially when I'm not familiar w/ the culture & can't fill in the blanks intuitively! Some x it's almost a curse to speak several languages fluently... For yrs I'm frustrated how American movies stereotype Germans (even today! it's 2023 for crying out loud!), & totally mess up the language of perfection (nope, I'm NOT German 😉) → German! in their (blockbuster) movies... Yet, everyone loves German beer, wants a Porsche, Benz, or BMW, desires German girls, but the producers &/or franchises don't bother to hire a German language coach for their films!??? of course, for us German speaking viewers, that certain movie loses instantly 70% in quality (for example: *Die Hard* ). Another disturbing example is a small scenario in one of the POTC (Pirates of the Caribbean) sequels....the camera swerved to an empty pirate ship, depicting 2 (supposedly Turkish) pirates who found Captain Jack's hat & fight over it. Subtitles state Turkish! 😳 Turkish??? Wtf? Not only did those stereotypes pirates looked Sicilian & not even remotely Turkish, they uttered something in mumbo jumbo w/ rather Greek or Indian accent (neither languages I can speak btw!), & only "benim" ("my" in English) was identifiably Turkish. Such a large franchise (Disney) couldn't find a Turkish language coach in California?, instead integrated such an idiotic & subpar scene into an otherwise utterly entertaining movie & blockbuster?, insulting the intelligence of Turks worldwide along the way??!!!😳 I stopped watching the Pirates of the Caribbean since then! Apropos you volunteering to translate: In comparison to what Google offers as free translation, there are far better sophisticated AI translation apps or choices available since a decade+, some have even built in accents. Quite impressive actually... Knowing all this, I really don't get, why we are being served such a faulty translation in these Chinese Drama sequels. I guestimate, native Mandarin speakers, or bilinguals (English/Mandarin) wouldn't notice these issues right away, since we humans habitually fill in the blanks subconsciously (w/ things we are familiar w/) as to not interrupt the flow, however those who are NOT familiar or knowledgeable of the language & culture will get their synapses messed up over x...
